Walsh Bay Arts Precinct sits on two piers with incredible Harbour Views . It mainly includes Pier 2/3 and Wharf 4/5. The area is home to many arts organisations and performance venues, including the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Bell Shakespeare, ATYP, Sydney Dance Company and Sydney Theatre Company.
The Arts Precinct is very inclusive.
All public indoor spaces have accessible access, and lifts are available to all venue levels. There are also outdoor ramps connecting public areas.
The main outdoor areas are step-free. The waterfront paths are wide and mostly flat, with hard paved surfaces. There is plenty of space for wheelchair users to move around. Clear signs show the way to Pier 2/3, Wharf 4/5 and different venues. Some building entrances also have ramps with handrails. Others have flat level entrances.
There are several accessible toilets in the precinct. Accessible and ambulant toilets are open to the public during business hours. Wheelchair-accessible unisex toilets are available inside each venue and one public accessible toilet in wharf 4/5.
Street Parking is limited but available on 5 Hickson Road. Wilson Paid Parking on 25a Hickson road is available. Pre booking would be ideal. There is also an accessible spot on towns palace.https://www.walshbay.com.au/arts-precinct
For public transport, bus routes 324 and 325 stop near Walsh Bay. Barangaroo Metro Station is about 900 metres away along Hickson Road, reachable via the flat and smooth promenade Pathways.
Overall, Walsh Bay Arts Precinct has good wheelchair access, with step-free routes, lifts, ramps, wheelchair seating and accessible toilets. However, the precinct is quite large, and the distance between different wharves and venues can be long.
