Redfern Art Workshops
Explore art and music with local community
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Redfern Community Centre works to make creating music accessible to the wider community through providing free workshops. From guitar lessons to DJ skills to music production and more — there is something for everyone who wants to experience music firsthand. These workshops run in 10-week segments, with each week building on the last until participants leave feeling confident in their abilities. It's a great opportunity for anyone interested in expressing themselves through one of humanity's oldest and most beloved pastimes.
The centre also offers a multipurpose hall and a multipurpose room suitable for dance and other classes.
HOW TO GET THERE? - Parking & Transport
By train: Redfern Station is 180 metres from the centre and is serviced by all metropolitan Sydney train lines. The Little Everleigh Street entrance is the best one to use. From the station, follow the path towards the Community Centre — it is a flat, wide concrete path that slopes gently downward towards the entrance.
By community transport: The Village2Village community transport bus runs on Thursdays and Fridays and is free for all passengers. The Redfern to Broadway route sets down on Lawson Street near Redfern Station, 180 metres from the entrance.
By bus: There are no bus stops within 200 metres of the centre.
By car: One mobility parking spot is located on Hugo Street to the left Cross the street and follow the accessible entrance signs to reach the entrance. Additional timed parking on surrounding streets is open to those with a mobility parking permit. Please note there is no mobility parking within the Redfern Community Centre carpark. The path from Hugo Street to the entrance includes a shared car-pedestrian zone.
Drop-off can be effectuated in 34 Louis Street, leading to a kerb cut with ramp from the non-parking area reserved to council vehicles.
