The Wharf 1 & 2 Theatres (Sydney Theatre Company)

The Wharf 1 & 2 Theatres are located at Wharf 4/5, 15 Hickson Road, Dawes Point, near Roslyn Packer Theatre.

There is step-free access from Hickson Road via a ramp. The outdoor waterfront pathway is wide and mostly flat, with plenty of space for wheelchair movement. However, the wharf is quite long, so reaching the theatres may take some time. A more comfortable route for wheelchair users is along the right-hand side of the pier towards the lifts near the end.

There are three lifts along the wharf, located near the entrance, in the middle and at the end. The lift entrances have no obvious steps, and the lifts have handrails and enough space for wheelchair users.

Inside, there are wooden ramps and mostly flat floors, with wide pathways for wheelchair access.

Wharf 1 Theatre is on Level 2. Doors 1 and 2 can be reached using the lift at the end of the wharf. Door 3 is on Level 1 and provides step-free access directly to Row A, with an accessible toilet nearby.

Wharf 2 Theatre is on Level 1 and is most easily reached using the Mid-Wharf lift. Both theatres provide wheelchair seating, which should be arranged in advance.

Wharf 1 Theatre is the larger theatre, with around 353–421 seats depending on the layout. Wharf 2 Theatre is smaller, with around 161 seats. Both theatres have flexible seating arrangements that can change depending on the performance. The two spaces can also be connected for larger events.

Accessible toilets are available along Level 1, including at Mid-Wharf and End of the Wharf. They are spacious, with flat tiled floors, grab rails, emergency buttons, wall-mounted washbasins and hand dryers.

Hearing assistance is available, and selected performances offer captions, audio description and Auslan interpretation.

Accessible parking is available at 5 Hickson Road. Bus routes 324 and 325 stop nearby, and Barangaroo Metro Station is around 700 metres away.
