Simon Says Juice in Darlinghurst is a renowned café celebrated for its fresh juices and healthy offerings.

They’ve recently given the place a fun makeover, making the ground level way more accessible and welcoming. The door is wider, so getting in with your mobility device is a breeze! Just a heads-up: the seating has booth tables, so your device might have to hang out at the end of the booth in the middle of the venue, which could make it tricky for others to get by. But we think it’ll work out just fine! They’ve added a couple of small tables in front of the counter facing the street, making it easy to have a quick stop while waiting for the bus or passing by.

One major inconvenience is the lack of restrooms, which means you’ll need to head to the nearest local pub, The Beacham (10 meters), which has accessible toilets. However, keep in mind that it may not open very early in the morning if you’re an early bird.

Their famous juices are a hit all around Sydney, and the new menu includes a variety of smoothies and bowls, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a sustainable twist.

Bootsdarling Café, while charming and full of character, is unfortunately not accessible due to two large steps at the front door. These steps can pose a challenge for individuals using wheelchairs or mobility devices, making it difficult to enter the café. Only Terrace service is provided in this Café.

Inside, you’ll find a warm and inviting atmosphere with cozy décor and comfortable seating, perfect for enjoying a meal or coffee. The café is known for its delicious offerings, including fresh pastries and great coffee, but the lack of a ramp or alternative entrance limits access for those who need it.

The Bootsdarling Café offers a delightful experience on its terrace, which is a popular choice for many on sunny mornings, allowing you to soak up some vitamin D while enjoying a delicious snack and drink if you fancy. Table service is provided, but it's important to keep the accessibility limitations in mind when planning your visit. For instance, you won’t be able to access the toilets inside the venue. However, if you are visiting, oxford street is right around the corner while Bootsdarling Café rests in a tranquil corner in South Dowling Street.

The University of Notre Dame has clear accessibility signage throughout the campus. While the Oxford Street entrance is not accessible, the Victoria Street entrance offers step-free access, with signage at both points directing visitors accordingly. Multiple lifts are available, and the first building to the left includes an accessible toilet and nearby accessible parking, both clearly signposted. A designated Disability and Equity Support space is located further into the campus on the right, with clear signage, and there is plenty of outdoor seating across the campus.

The cinema is fully accessible, with accessible seating available with no steps or other barriers from the entrance. These seats and spaces are reserved for customers who have a genuine need and are only released by cinema staff in person at the cinema or over the phone.
For hard of hearing or visually impaired the auditoriums are setup with the Fidelio headset & neck loop options.  These receivers are available at the box office when tickets are purchased.  The neck loop option works in conjunction with the hearing aid + the headset has adjustable volume to boost the dialogue levels.

Palace Verona

Palace Cinema is an accessible venue with  step-free entrance on side.  Entry doors are left open.  Access is signposted inside.

Access to the Courthouse is limited for those with mobility issues  due to it being a historical budiling. Entry is via Oxford Street and a ramp will be deployed to provide access to the venue and an accessible bathroom with be available on-site during the Sydney Festival.

Please call the venue in advance to ensure they can accommodate your arrival, as the lift chair is the only way to access the restaurant. Once you’ve used the lift chair, the pathway to the venue is flat.

The café offers a spacious outdoor seating area in front of the main kiosk and counter, as well as an indoor dining space. The indoor area is easily accessible, with a wide and open threshold, allowing you to choose between the terrace and the indoors. The friendly staff are always ready to assist and ensure a comfortable experience at Tento.

The Oxford Hotel has a second entrance past the outdoor seating that is accessible via a ramp, as the main entrance includes a small set of stairs. The accessible entrance leads directly into the games room on the left and the main bar area to the right. This bar area has plenty of seating and space between tables, however they are higher tables with taller seats. Lower tables and seating is available in the garden further into the bar area. An accessible toilet is located within the games room. While signage indicating accessible features is limited, staff are friendly and happy to assist! There is also plenty of outdoor seating available along the footpath at the front of the venue.

The Oxford Hotel

The Organic Bread Bar in Darlinghurst is a vibrant and inviting take away bakery known for its delicious organic breads and baked goods. The space features a lovely open layout, making it feel welcoming to smell the delicious fresh baked goods.

The bakery has limited space, and while you can see the bakers working on your fresh goods inside, the outdoor area where the bread is displayed and where customers place takeaway orders only allows for ordering and taking away their incredible local products. This Indian food place is a local spot  popular in peak  hours.

They provide small tables in the outside  for those with  mobility needs. it should be very easy to accommodate. On arrival you can let the staff know that you are here and they will help you ordering and enjoying a nice experience. 
 

The main entrance fresh hole it’s quite narrow and it presents one step that might be challenging for some.  If you can make it up the step, it should be easy for you to navigate the venue despite being moderately spacious. 

The toilet area inside the venue is at the very back and definitely not accessible since you will have to go up five steps. 
 

If you make it to the inside and buy through the counter area which will be the narrowest space you can encounter, then you’ll find several small tables where you can sit with any mobility device.

Fermento Pizza

This local Indian take away place is in the middle of Oxford Street.

They provide one table in the outside in case you have difficulty becoming the one step at the very entrance.

The venue is small but if you can make it inside their dishes look amazing,  you can always take away or eat in any of the tables inside,  are sure they can put some chairs aside and accommodate for your arrival.

 They do not have toilets for the public but 15 minutes away there is an accessible hotel.

The Clock in Surry Hills is a classic Aussie pub with a big, welcoming vibe right in the heart of Surry Hills, on a bustling road that comes alive on weekend evenings. With plenty of space to move around, getting in and out is a breeze, thanks to the chair lift at the entrance and an internal lift that reaches every level. The Clock is fully accessible, making it easy to enjoy your time here without any worries. The friendly staff, quick ordering, and helpful security team ensure that everyone feels at ease.

Inside, the spacious layout keeps things comfortable, and for those who need accessible facilities, there’s a dedicated toilet on the courtyard level that’s easy to reach on the lower floor right next to the lifts.  The ground level is where most events are run and where you can easily stroll around and be part of the interactive games and shows. On the mid level, there is a whiskey bar with an open space, very cost and accessible by the lift. On the top level, you can easily move around hallways and decide where to sit, if inside or in the balcony. Bear in mind that the balcony presents a small step and that is quite narrow for a wheelchair.

The Clock is all about making everyone feel right at home, so whether you’re catching up with friends or simply soaking in the atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy yourself!

Nour in Surry Hills is a vibrant, modern Middle Eastern restaurant that brings a fresh twist to traditional flavors in a stunningly designed space. The interior is warm and the elegant decor creates a chic and welcoming atmosphere. 

When it comes to accessibility, Nour is quite accommodating. It has big windows connecting the outside dinning tables with the inside. The tables outside are high tables with high chairs so it might be worth it to enter the venue.

The entrance has a step, however the venue owns a portable ramp that can be deployed and used when you arrive. 

The accessible entrance is right next door! Let the staff know you are coming and they will guide you to the right hand side of the main entry allowing easy access for those with mobility needs. Inside, the layout is mostly open, with ample space between tables to navigate comfortably. While Nour doesn't have dedicated accessible toilets, the staff is known to be helpful and attentive, and they’re always ready to assist with any special requests to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. Yes, you can find accessible parking about 200 meters away, in front of the park on the same footpath as the Surry Hills Library. There is enough space for one car, or possibly two small ones. The street is well connected to ramps, making Henrietta a fully accessible venue.

Golden Age Cinema & Bar

Sun Hot Bakery Café is a local spot located within the Kings Cross Centre. The shopping mall is easily accessible, with entrances on both sides and a ramp linking Darlinghurst Road to Bayswater Avenue. The café is situated on the fully accessible ground floor and features a low counter, making it simple to order their affordable and delicious Vietnamese dishes or grab a quick coffee while waiting for someone finishing their shopping.
 

There’s a small table near the counter if you’d like to sit and enjoy your meal. While the space around it can accommodate a wheelchair for a short time, the area can get a bit busy with foot traffic, though it’s still manageable.

For added convenience, public restrooms are located directly across from the café within the complex. If you need assistance or directions, the friendly and experienced owner is always happy to help and share local tips.

Sun Hot Bakery

Healthy Nuts, on the ground floor of the Kings Cross complex under the famous Coca-Cola sign, is a spacious and welcoming shop that’s perfect for grabbing a healthy snack or drink. The shop is easy to access from the street, with a flat, wide entrance that makes it simple for wheelchairs or mobility aids to get inside. Once you’re in, there are cozy couches that add a relaxed vibe, and they can be moved around if needed to make more space.

The counter where you order isn’t too high, so it’s easy to see everything they offer and place your order. If you need a hand, the staff are super friendly and happy to help. While the shop has two floors, the lower level can only be reached by stairs, so it might not work for everyone.

There aren’t any toilets inside the shop, but don’t worry—the Kings Cross complex has public restrooms that are wheelchair-friendly. Just head into the complex, follow the ramps to the end, and you’ll find the restrooms on the left side.

It’s a chill spot to enjoy some healthy treats, with staff who go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable!

Health Nuts

The Kashbah Hotel on William Street is a lively, fun pub with a great atmosphere and a solid selection of drinks, perfect for a casual night out.

However, being an older building and due to strata regulations, the pub isn’t able to make renovations to improve accessibility. There’s a step at the entrance, and since William Street is a bit hilly, there's a small (about 5 cm) step that helps balance the building, which can be tricky for mobility devices to get over.

Unfortunately, there’s no outside seating area either, so the pub isn’t really accessible for those with mobility needs. It's a great spot for those who can navigate the steps, but not the best choice if accessibility is a concern.

Strand Kasbah

Penny’s Hotel in Kings Cross is a super welcoming spot, made easy and comfortable for everyone.
 

It is located on a wide footpath, so there’s plenty of room outside, and while there are stairs at the main entrance, there’s a lift right on the left side of the building for anyone who needs it. 

The lift takes you straight upstairs, where everything is clearly marked for a smooth experience.

Inside, there’s loads of space, and the bar is not so far from the lift entrance. With wide paths between tables and easy access to accessible bathrooms, with handrails at the back of the first floor, you can order right from your table, and the friendly staff are always around to help, making sure you have a relaxed, enjoyable time at Penny’s!

The Imperial Hotel is a semi-accessible venue with one step at front, wheelchair accessible access around the side on Underwood St.  
Entry doors are swinging at front but automatic at side & access is signposted.  
A wheelchair fits around the tables & non-fixed seating.  There is outside seating & accessible toilet onsite. 
Accessible parking can be found nearby on the street along with further underground parking at The Gordon.   

Imperial Hotel Paddington

The venue has step-free front but slightly narrow to a swinging door & a few steps inside. 
Table spacing is  likely too cramped plus steps close to front door, the seating is not fixed to floor.
There is no outside seating or accessible toilet onsite but one can be found at the IMperial Hotel on Oxford Street.

Christo's Five Way Pizzeria

Chula, a cozy Mexican spot in Potts Point, offers a warm and vibrant vibe paired with authentic Mexican dishes. It’s easy to get to, thanks to a ramp in the connected building complex that leads straight into the restaurant. Once inside, you’ll find smooth flooring and movable tables and chairs, which make it a bit more flexible for anyone using a wheelchair or other mobility aids.

The pathways between tables are fairly spacious, but they might need a little rearranging to make things more comfortable for larger mobility devices. While the main areas are mostly accessible, the restrooms can be tricky—they’re on another level with two steps to navigate, and the hallway leading there is pretty narrow.

If you’re thinking of visiting and have specific needs, it’s a good idea to give them a call ahead of time. You’ll enjoy great food and street views, and the staff will do their best to help make your visit enjoyable!

Sonora in Potts Point offers a welcoming and lively Mexican dining experience, where friendly service complements an innovative menu. Sonora features curated tasting menus, including a chef’s “Feed Me” option on Wednesdays and a decadent brunch with tacos and margaritas on the weekends.

Sonora is fully accessible, accommodating both wide and smaller devices. The main entry is at the corner of the street, accessible through their ample door threshold. Despite being a small, charming venue, the tables are spaced apart, providing enough room both inside and outside, in the terrace. The friendly staff will be happy to guide you to an appropriate space in the dining area.

Toilets are located on the right-hand side of the venue, and you won't get lost on the way to the restrooms. There are two restrooms, both equipped with handrails and enough space to maneuver a device.

Four Ate Five

Whether you're a ramen enthusiast or trying it for the first time, Bones Ramen offers a delightful dining experience in the heart of Kings Cross.

The restaurant is located on the hill of Bayswater Road and is mostly accessible from the footpath. The entry features a flat surface that transitions into a slight step on one side of the door threshold, which is manageable to navigate with a bit of assistance if needed. Otherwise you can always have some food in their outdoors area. The outdoors tables are quite small and the available spots are on the hill. However, if you can manage a slight steep hill, you can always enjoy their food.

While the dimensions of the entry are not large, they are sufficient for entry. Once inside, the space is somewhat limited, but there is often the possibility of finding a table for you and your guests upon entry.
 

Please note that they do not have accessible toilets, but you can attempt to enter them since the path from the main dining area is relatively easy.

There is 1 parallel parking space in 31 Roslyn Street, Eastside between Ward Avenue and Roslyn Gardens 3.2m wide by 7.3m long.

There is a private garage at 33 Bayswater Road with an accessible entrance.

Bones Ramen

The Shift Eatery in Surry Hills is a trendy, 100% plant-based café known for its delicious vegan sandwiches, coffee, and brunch dishes. It offers a casual and cozy atmosphere, with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a  spot for those seeking healthy, cruelty-free meals in the heart of Sydney.

The café is wheelchair accessible thanks to a ramp at the entrance, allowing mobility devices to enter the venue without any issues. However, since it is a small space, navigating inside may be more challenging during busy hours. You can easily place your order inside and enjoy your coffee or meal in either the indoor or outdoor seating areas, depending on the weather.

Unfortunately, the toilets in the venue are not accessible. The door threshold is quite narrow, and reaching the communal bathroom requires going up some steps.  Closest accessible toilets can be found at Central Train Station.

Shift Eatery

Mr T is an accessible restaurant with step-free front but has a swinging narrow door & no portable ramp.
Wheelchair could fit round the low tables, benches & low stool, but might be cramped.
Seating is not fixed except for the bench along one wall.  
There is outside seating at night but needs to be validated.
No accessible toilet onsite but ones can be found on the ground & lower ground floors of Broadway Shopping Centre, along with parking.

The Glider is right on Victoria Street in Potts Point, just a hop away from Kings Cross Station, making it super easy to get to with the adapted roads. The café has a lovely outdoor area that's perfect for chilling out. You’ll find a few tables right on the main street, so you can sit there without worrying about blocking anyone’s path. The outdoor space has a faux garden floor and a driveway kerb ramp that makes it easy to access the cosy little terrace.

Inside, there’s a noticeable step up to the main café area, so you might have trouble getting in with a mobility device. But don’t sweat it! You can always ask for table service on the terrace, and the friendly staff will be more than happy to help you out.

They don’t have toilets at the café, but no worries, Kings Cross Station is just a few meters away, and it has fully accessible restrooms that are easy to navigate.
