When you arrive at Woolloomooloo Wharf, the first venue you'll encounter is China Doll. Elegantly positioned in a curated manner, the restaurant showcases a sophisticated pan-Asian style. 

China Doll extends its seating onto the wharf, connecting seamlessly with the promenade.

The restaurant offers a variety of seating options on its waterfront terrace. While many tables are placed close together, both on the terrace and in the open indoor space, the staff is attentive and can arrange tables to ensure a comfortable dining experience.

The entrance is at ground level, however somewhat narrow. Individuals using mobility devices that are not overly wide can maneuver through easily and select a spot for a lovely meal by the water. However, be cautious of the seagulls!

Please note that the toilets are not accessible, as they are located on the first floor and require climbing stairs.

For parking, the nearest facility is Secure Parking, located at 1 Lincoln Crescent in Woolloomooloo.

China Doll

Charlie’s Café in Woolloomooloo is a small venue with a humble outdoor seating area that provides the perfect setting for enjoying a morning coffee or leisurely brunch while taking in views of the harbor. The venue has a few steps leading up to the only entrance, which faces the water and Woolloomooloo Bay.

The difficulty of entering the venue may restrict some guests from fully enjoying the experience or accessing the restrooms. However, there are toilets located right across the road in the Ovolo precinct, where the hotel is situated.

Charlies Cafe

Sienna Marina is a charming waterfront café and restaurant located in Woolloomooloo. Known for its beautiful views of the harbor and vibrant atmosphere, it serves as a popular spot for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy an early coffee, lunch, or dinner. The nearby Artspace complex adds to the allure, making it a great location to take an artistic break while enjoying views of the harbor.

The venue is quite spacious, featuring both indoor and outdoor areas. The terrace is at a higher level, accessed by some steps at the entrance of the café. However, on the right-hand side of the café, as you face the harbor, you'll find a comfortable outdoor area where you can relax. There are cozy chairs and ample armchairs for your enjoyment.

The restrooms are located inside the venue, but there are no designated accessible toilets. If you can manage the step at the main entrance, you can follow the signs on the right side of the entry toward the toilets. The restrooms are adapted, and the path to them is flat and step-free.

Sienna Marina

Mollo Bar is an Italian bar located at Woolloomooloo Wharf, where guests can enjoy their favorite Italian digestifs or any drink of their choice. The bar is accessible from the Wharf since it is adjacent to the promenade. However, seating options are limited depending on the season of the year, having mainly high tables for some ongoing events.

The decor is always current, creating a vibrant atmosphere, and the staff are professional and attentive. The seating is organized based on the available space within the venue, with some tables predominantly situated on the terrace, which serves as the main seating area. The bar offers an open space, perfect for enjoying a relaxing moment outdoors.
 

For the Aperol pop-up during summer months, individuals who cannot stand may find it challenging to enjoy the experience, as all the tables are designed for standing or for sipping drinks while perched at high tables.

Additionally, there are no toilets available in the bar, as it is simply an extension of the Mantra Restaurant next door. Guests can easily change between the two venues by moving seats if needed.

Molo Bar

Artspace Visual Arts Centre is an universally accessible space dedicated to the production and presentation of contemporary art in a critical context.  

 Situated on the waterfront between the escarpment of Potts Point and the Domain Hill.  The entrance to Artspace is easily accessible for wheelchairs, prams and buggies. There is lift access from the ground floor to the first and second floors in The Gunnery building.

Pedestrian access from the Art Gallery of New South Wales to Artspace is via public stairs next to the Ausgrid substation on Lincoln Crescent. Disabled access is via steep gradient behind the Art Gallery of New South Wales onto a pedestrian bridge to a lift on Bourke Street. If you wish to avoid steps, they recommend you come by car, taxi or bus.

Artspace has accessible restrooms in each floor that are easy to reach. At the back of the furthest art room on the ground floor you can find wide accessible toilets. In the first floor, after the lift you turn left and after the corridor you can find accessible toilets. Signs are provided.

Open Tuesday - Sunday: 11am - 5pm

Artspace is closed on Mondays and on the following public holidays: Easter Friday, Easter Monday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.

Admission to exhibitions and public programs is always free.

There is limited metered parking available at the entrance to Artspace on Cowper Wharf Road and at the rear of the building on Bland Street. The publicly accessible Domain Car Park is approximately a 10 minute walk from Artspace.

Artspace

Manta Restaurant is  the adjacent venue to Molo Bar in Woolloomooloo Wharf. The venue has won many awards for its dishes and wines.  You can enjoy full delicious menus or if you fancy more snacks, you can nib from the Molo Bar snack menu next to you.
 

The disposition of tables is perfectly arranged with the formality of the restaurant decorations, matching the Molo bar right next to the restaurant.

Tables and chairs are separated from each other but just generously enough to have a nice experience. The sitting area can be reached from the Wharf promenade if you instantly decide to join the venue after falling in love with its accessibility possibilities and its menu.

The restaurant has toilets located in the upstairs area, therefore accessible toilets are available. 

The disabled bathroom of the Wharf can be found at the very end of the promenade, the staff of Kingsleys restaurant will allow you in through the fire security door. 

Manta Restaurant

Woolley Bay Hotel is a stunning Australian-style hotel inspired by old sailing traditions, spread across multiple levels. 

Inside the hotel, the layout is generally open and spacious, allowing for easy navigation in most areas. The hotel offers full accessibility for everyone, featuring a lift that provides seamless access to all levels of the venue, from the ground floor to the rooftop.

The ground floor includes an outdoor terrace and a flat entrance with wide thresholds, inviting everyone to enter and enjoy craft beer and pub specials while having a good time.

The second floor houses Artuor’s restaurant, which is elegant and infused with a touch of Italian romance. This floor also has an outdoor area; however, it is not accessible as it involves several steps leading down to the terrace level. Nonetheless, the lift allows you to reach the main dining area without any issues. The second floor provides breathtaking views, and the indoor and outdoor rooftop areas are all on the same level as the lift and restrooms.

Woolley Bay Hotel offers accessible and spacious restrooms on each floor, ensuring that you will not encounter any accessibility issues, allowing you to fully enjoy your leisure time.

Woolly Bay Hotel

Harry’s cafe on Wheels is a well-known location for takeaway and Australian-style street food, proudly serving customers in Woolloomooloo, Sydney, next to the Naval Harbour. This spot, located at the main entrance of the naval base in Sydney, offers a variety of pies and other handheld bites, along with drinks, making it perfect for a quick lunch break or grabbing a snack on the go.

The counter is slightly high, but the staff is more than willing to assist if needed. The designated seating areas are restricted and may not be spacious enough for a wheelchair. The high dining booths, along with their chairs, are positioned quite close to the counter and to one another, which can make movement a bit tight. However, there are some benches right in front of the kiosk where you can enjoy a quick snack or coffee while seated comfortably.

Harry's Café de Wheels - Woolloomooloo

The Tilbury Hotel features tastefully decorated rooms that provide a comfortable stay, with modern amenities designed to cater to the needs of travelers and those enjoying a modern pub atmosphere. Its renovated decor maintains the charm of an old pub, complemented by an outdoor terrace inside the venue, which includes a small waterfall—creating a relaxing and peaceful environment on sunny days.

The hotel has a small step at the main entrance; we believe it is easily accessible but may present some challenges without assistance.

There is also a covered outdoor area at the front that connects to a shared pedestrian space with a wharf view. Inside, the spaces between tables are spacious, making mobility easy.

The venue offers accessible toilets that are quite spacious and easy to navigate, located right next to the indoor terrace.

The Tilbury Hotel

The Bells Hotel in Woolloomooloo is a popular spot known for its relaxed atmosphere and inviting outdoor area. the bar is partly accessible friendly. The entrance features a small bump but nothing to worry about. Even though you will be able to enter the venue, unfortunately, the restrooms aren’t fully accessible either; the ladies' room has a significant step to enter, while the male restroom is usable but narrow.

As for the counters, they aren’t too high, so if you need assistance, the friendly staff are always ready to lend a hand.. While table service isn’t typically offered, the staff is always willing to help, so don’t hesitate to ask if you need anything. Overall, while there are some accessibility concerns, the welcoming atmosphere and helpful staff make it a pleasant place to visit

Bells Hotel

Otto Restaurant offers elegant Italian cuisine and tasting menus served in a stylish setting with a waterfront terrace. Otto is located at the end of the Woolloomooloo promenade.

The venue is quite spacious and accommodates wheelchair users, allowing them to enter and enjoy the fabulous dishes and dining experience. The entrance is at the same level as the promenade, forming a flat surface that makes it easy to access. The outdoor terrace connects directly with the Wharf, so you can simply walk in with your mobility device and ask for a table. The staff will ensure that they provide you with the most suitable seating. You can choose to sit outside or indoors, depending on your preference. While there is ample seating space, it is advisable to call ahead or make a reservation to inform them of your arrival and any specific needs you may have.

Accessible toilets can be found in the venue next door. The entrance is at the waterfront wharf level, and if you inform the staff, they will open the fire safety door for you and assist you through without any issues. You will need to cross two doors, one leading to the back of the aforementioned venue where the accessible toilets are located.

OTTO Ristorante

Kingsley's Restaurant, located at the very end of the Woolloomooloo promenade wharf, is a well-renowned establishment specializing in grilled steaks and seafood. It offers an incredible culinary experience in its spacious venue, which features plenty of seating options and generous space, making it the closest restaurant to accessible toilets.

The accessible toilets at the wharf are situated within the complex of this venue. Instead of crossing the entire restaurant, it is best to request that the fire security door be opened and to ask for assistance with the doors, as they are not automatic.

The venue provides a wheelchair-accessible entrance at ground level and offers numerous tables in its outdoor spaces that are linked to the wharf. Additionally, you can navigate through the venue's flat surfaces until you find a suitable table.

Kingsleys Woolloomooloo

L'Expresso House is a small but very popular café located at the corner of the Woolloomooloo neighborhood, featuring charming decor inspired by the navy and sailors. The café entrance is flat, allowing mobility devices to access its cozy interior,  it might be a bit narrow and you will have to slowly turn into the right to get further. Inside, there are tables and chairs arranged closely together, leaving limited space to navigate.

We believe there is a chance to secure a nice spot if mobility aids are of manageable size. Our advice is to enjoy the outdoor tables or opt for takeaway, which you can order at the counter without issues. Although the counter is a bit high, the staff are happy to assist. You can always take a walk around the wharf afterward.

Please note that the café has no restrooms; the closest facilities can be found at the Ovolo precinct across the road.

L'Expresso House

The Frisco Hotel, located on the edge of a quiet neighborhood, presents some challenges for entry due to its age and the lack of recent renovations. As a result, the main entrance has two moderate steps almost impossible for any mobility device, so that can hinder mobility for some individuals, although others may be able to enter with a bit of assistance. Inside, there are spacious corridors, but the restrooms are not accessible.

This restaurant and bar offers a unique dining experience where you order food and drinks directly at the counter, and the staff is happy to help if needed. Although it is not fully adapted for mobility-impaired individuals, you can always enjoy a drink at their outdoor tables.

Frisco Hotel

The Gallery presents fine international and Australian art in one of the most beautiful art museums in the world. It displays modern and contemporary works in expansive, light-filled spaces. It is largely accessible to wheelchair users. There is a dramatic semicircular ramp to the right of the front stone steps providing access into the building and there are ramps inside providing access to the various exhibits. Lifts provide access to the various floors and down to the gallery cafe and gift shop. Most tables in Chiswick, the gallery restaurant, are also accessible. There are also unisex toilets on site. Parts of the research library and archive are not accessible. There are two disabled parking spaces at front of the Gallery, two at rear.

Art Gallery Of New South Wales

Located on the ground floor of the gallery, Chiswick is an accessible restaurant. Entry to the gallery is partially accessible. You can't get to some of the tables.  However, there is still plenty of accessible seating and also an accessible unisex toilet. Outside tables are not available.

Located in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Maiden Theatre is an inaccessible venue for wheelchair users. There are steps preventing access at the theatre’s only entrance point and there is no portable ramp to assist with entry.

Maiden Theatre

The Butler in Sydney is a chic and stylish restaurant nestled in the heart of Potts Point, offering stunning views of the city skyline and Sydney Harbour.

The entrance has a step, making accessibility challenging, as you need to go down this step to enter. Since it’s an old building, modifications are difficult, so accessibility is limited.

If you can manage the step, the street-level dining area is relatively flat and spacious. The friendly staff are happy to accommodate you at the bar, where they can serve food from the dining menu.

The toilets are located on the street level and are reachable from the dining area, but there are no accessible toilets available in the venue. The restaurant offers beautiful views of the city, and while access to the dining area and terrace (one level down) is limited, the views from the bar(accessible)at the top level are still worthwhile.

As for reaching the venue, the footpath is smooth and easy to navigate, allowing you to move comfortably along the street. There are curb ramps on Victoria Street, and most street parking is free for one to two hours

The Butler

Growing Friend's Nursery is a partially accessible plant shop located in the Botanic Gardens - next to the Maiden Theatre. There is step-free access into and around the shop, but loose soil on the ground may present problems for some wheelchair users. There are no accessible toilets on site but you can find accessible toilets within the Botanic Garden.

Growing Friend's Nursery

The Domain is the venue for large-scale events such as Opera in the Park during the Festival of Sydney in January and Carols by Candlelight in December each year.
The main part of the parkland takes in the peninsula on the eastern flank of the Royal Botanic Gardens, just next to Mrs Macquarie's Point.Domain is an accessible park on St Marys Road. There is step-free access into and around the park, which has a varying gradient throughout. There are accessible toilets but the cubicles are very small and barely provide enough room for a wheelchair. There are no restaurants or cafes nearby but when you enter the Botanic Garden you will find some indoor and outdoor venues. Picnic areas can be found on site.

The Domain

Tuyo Cafe in Potts Point is a charming spot known for its relaxed vibe and inviting atmosphere. Everyday of the week you see locals saying G’day to each other in this cozy casual café . The café features a cozy interior with a blend of rustic and modern decor, creating a warm and welcoming environment. the café is known by its newspapers readers and people enjoying a book or a caffeinated catch up with friends.


Its main seating area is outdoors on level ground which is perfect for those with mobility devices.  The café outdoors area is located on the curb so quite easy access if you are having a morning walk. Please be advised that to access the counter inside there is a high step up and no ramp but all seating and tables are outside. There is unfortunately no accessible toilet on the premise. The closest toilets are located in Kings Cross Station.

Tuyo Potts Point

Right next to Tuyo Cafe in Potts Point is Melted Monster which is a quirky yet inviting cafe that specialises in all-day breakfast, good coffee and the ultimate comfort foods. The staff are very friendly and thoughtful. The atmosphere is casual and fun, making it a great spot for food lovers looking to satisfy their cravings.

The interior is bright and colorful, featuring playful decor that enhances the relaxed vibe. It’s designed to be a cozy place where guests can enjoy a leisurely meal with friends or family. However, there is a big step at entry level that might hinder its access. The cafe is located at street level and it provides a terrace area on the other edge of the curb. The space between tables isn’t/t generous but sufficient to enjoy a coffee break or lunch.
 

There is unfortunately no accessible toilet on the premise. But Kings Cross Station only a few minutes away, offers free public toilets, accessible to all.

Melted Monster

Palm House is an accessible indoor venue located in the Botanic Gardens. It was erected in 1876 and is the oldest glasshouse in New South Wales. Sheltered from the weather and full of natural light, the Palm House is ideal for exhibitions, garden weddings or corporate launches.
Palm House offers step-free access into and throughout the venue. There are no accessible toilets on site but you can find accessible toilets within the Botanic Garden. Cafes and restaurants are also situated in the Botanic Garden.

Palm House

Konger Café in Potts Point is a vibrant, Southeast Asian-inspired café that brings a burst of flavor and culture to the area. With its brunch options and Southeast Asian-inspired dishes, it’s a delightful destination for anyone looking to explore bold flavors in a cozy and accessible setting.
 

Konger Café is located on the ground floor of Victoria Towers on Victoria Street, a quiet street with sunny, inviting areas like the outdoor reception space of Victoria Towers. A cement ramp serves as a loading zone and provides easy access from the footpath and main road.


There’s seating available in a spacious open area out front, as well as a few seats inside, all on level ground with no steps. It’s a small, cozy cafe, so seating is limited. Unfortunately, there’s no accessible restroom on the premises.

Customer toilets are located in the building next door, but access requires navigating steps in the corridor. Alternatively, public restrooms are available at Kings Cross Station.

KONGER POTTS POINT

Ms. G’s in Potts Point is a lively, urban-chic restaurant offering a fun twist on Southeast Asian flavors, all with stunning panoramic views of the cityscape.

The entry connects directly to the curb, making the ground floor easily accessible for guests with mobility devices. While only the ground floor is wheelchair accessible (the building’s age makes further modifications tricky), the staff are always happy to accommodate you at a terrace table when space is available, so you can enjoy your meal and refreshing cocktails in comfort.

Please note that the toilets are located on the lower level, which is only accessible by stairs, so it may be best to plan accordingly, since you might not have access to the restrooms. There aren’t many public venues with toilets available in that street.

Despite these limitations, the vibrant décor and inventive menu make Ms. G’s a standout spot in Potts Point. On a nice day, the terrace is a perfect setting to relax with friends or family, enjoy the food, and soak up the unique atmosphere.

Ms.G’s

Fratelli Paradiso is an accessible Italian restaurant & wine bar located in Potts Point.  There is step free access to the venue with level paved lead-in pathway.  

There is both fixed & moveable seating options along with a bar area with stools & outside seating & tables. There is limited space so when the venue is busy, maneuvering may be a little troublesome.

Accessible toilets can be found just over 1km away at the Australian Museum & NSW Parliament House which also feature Changing Places adult change facilities & Westfield Sydney Level 5 which offers adult change facility.

There is limited street parking, closest accessible parking is at The Domain St Mary's Road which is over 20 min away.

Fratelli Paradiso

Franca in Potts Point is a chic restaurant that mixes the charm of a French brasserie with modern Mediterranean vibes. The place has a fun and lively atmosphere, making it great for both casual meals and special occasions. Their menu is filled with tasty French dishes, and they offer an awesome selection of wines and sparkling drinks from France.

You can find Franca on Macleay Street, right next to other great restaurants and bars, making it a perfect spot for a meal or grabbing a drink with friends on the weekends. It's slightly elevated from the street level, so to enter the venue, you'll need to locate the ramp that leads to the complex. After passing the restaurant Parlar, you’ll see Franca at the end of the hallway.

The doors are wide open, and the entrance is flat, making it wheelchair friendly. There are tables on both sides, and the staff is always happy to help you find a spot. If you wanted to seat outside in its terrace while watching pedestrians on Macleay street, you can stay in the outdoor area.

As for the restrooms, they’re not specially designed for accessibility. The doors are wide, they open manually, and the space inside can be a bit cramped.

Franca

La Bomba Cafe and Restaurant is a Spanish Inspired cafe, right into the bustling heart of Potts Point. It is a quaint cafe with its Mediterranean essence, that invites locals to soak up the morning sun in a charming breakfast atmosphere in their bright terrace. It has a strong community vibe and features a diverse range of breakfast and lunch options.  The inside is not accessible, however most people decide to seat outside as their preference.


The cafe aims to be accessible and welcoming to all guests with a large open and outdoor seating section which is perfect for the warmer months. The outdoors area is perfect for mobility devices. However, please be advised that to access the main part of the cafe there is a step up and no ramp.


There is unfortunately no accessible toilet on the premise.

La Bomba Cafe & Restaurant Potts Point

Another Place is a delightful new kink café with friendly staff and mouthwatering bagels. Many visitors rave about the Truffle Helman bagel and the Iced Peanut Butter Latte, making it a must-try! Tucked away in the middle of Victoria Street, this cozy little spot has a warm atmosphere perfect for grabbing a quick bite.

While the pastries are tempting, it’s worth noting that the café is a bit tricky for wheelchair access. The main entrance has a medium step, which can be a challenge for those with mobility issues.

The counter opens up to the street, making it super convenient to order takeaway or grab something for the outdoor terrace. There are tables and chairs set up along the main road, protected by cement blocks. If you’d like to enjoy the terrace, just keep in mind that you’ll need to navigate a step down, as they don’t have ramps or other accessibility options.

Although you can’t sit inside, and despite the terrace presenting inconvenient layouts, takeaway is always available! And if you need to use the restroom, Kings Cross Station is just a short walk away after you grab your delicious food. They do not have toilets for the public.

Anotherplace

This small sandwich shop on Victoria Street is a tiny, local spot that draws a big crowd during lunchtime. Many enjoy their sandwiches on one of the chairs set up on an improvised terrace by the curb.

Though the passage is narrow, it’s still manageable with a mobility device, allowing you to order a sandwich on the go from the friendly staff. Keep in mind that the counter is quite high, which may make ordering difficult for some. The shop also offers cured meats and local products displayed and visible from the street. The venue itself is very small, with a step at the entrance that may limit accessibility inside; however, you can place your order from outside.

There are no public restrooms, with the nearest toilets located at King’s Cross Station, approximately 600 meters away.

Small's Deli

The Apollo, located in Potts Point, Sydney, is a renowned contemporary Greek restaurant that blends traditional Greek flavors with modern Australian cuisine.

The Apollo is not accessible for individuals with mobility challenges. The primary accessibility issues are its entrances, which have stairs. The restaurant can not provide a ramp to enter the premises. The Apollo has a somewhat narrow and compact layout, which can further restrict easy movement for individuals using mobility aids.

Significant structural changes are difficult, however they have a street-level terrace where customers can enjoy a succulent meal. The staff c an easily accomodate a table to your convenience. 

The only limitation if you decide to dine in would be accessing the toilets, as there is a step leading to them. Additionally, the toilets are not equipped to accommodate wheelchair users.

The Apollo Restaurant

Piña, located in the bustling Llankelly Place laneway in Potts Point, is a popular café renowned for its unique take on breakfast and lunch classics. The venue features a flat entry, making it accessible and welcoming to all. However, as it is a small space, the café and the laneway can become narrow and crowded, especially during peak hours.

Inside, the venue’s compact layout might pose challenges for those using larger mobility devices. While the café is designed to be accessible, the tight space and high volume of patrons might require some assistance. Fortunately, staff and fellow patrons are often accommodating, helping create space for everyone to enjoy their visit.

Outdoor seating is available, offering a more spacious alternative if the interior feels too confined. The restrooms are adapted for disabilities but may require staff assistance for access. Rest assured, the friendly team is likely to help with a smile.

PIÑA

Pina in Potts Point is a cozy café with a laid-back vibe and a menu full of delicious, seasonal dishes inspired by modern Australian cuisine. It’s also wheelchair-friendly, so everyone’s welcome to join in on the feast!

There’s plenty of outdoor seating, making it a great spot for a quick lunch or a relaxed brunch with friends. Just a heads-up, though, it’s a pretty popular spot, so it can get crowded. While it’s still accessible, space might feel a bit tight.

Getting inside is easy thanks to a small ramp at the entrance, but the interior is a little snug, which could be tricky for larger mobility devices. The toilets are at the back, and the path to them is flat and wheelchair-friendly, though a bit narrow. On the bright side, the toilets are spacious and have handrails to make things easier for anyone who needs extra support.

The Glider is right on Victoria Street in Potts Point, just a hop away from Kings Cross Station, making it super easy to get to with the adapted roads. The café has a lovely outdoor area that's perfect for chilling out. You’ll find a few tables right on the main street, so you can sit there without worrying about blocking anyone’s path. The outdoor space has a faux garden floor and a driveway kerb ramp that makes it easy to access the cosy little terrace.

Inside, there’s a noticeable step up to the main café area, so you might have trouble getting in with a mobility device. But don’t sweat it! You can always ask for table service on the terrace, and the friendly staff will be more than happy to help you out.

They don’t have toilets at the café, but no worries, Kings Cross Station is just a few meters away, and it has fully accessible restrooms that are easy to navigate.

Glider Cafe

Nestled in the middle of Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens, this is an accessible restaurant serving modern Australian cuisine. There is a cafe on the lower level with outdoor seating, which is separate from this restaurant above. The venue itself doesn’t have accessible toilets, put accessible toilets are located opposite the restaurant front door, only 5 meters away.

The Botanic Gardens Café is set within lush garden surrounds and overhanging trees, overlooking the duck pond.

The café offers fresh light meals including gourmet sandwiches, salads, baked goods and great coffee.

Plenty of outdoor seating set in beautiful surrounding gardens. Also quite a lot of accessible indoor seating if it's bad weather.

Botanic Gardens Cafe

Potts Point Hotel  is a welcoming choice for an inclusive night out in Sydney’s vibrant Kings Cross area. It offers entertainment, dining, and nightlife across multiple floors, each with its own unique vibe. The venue is fully accessible, with a lift connecting all levels for convenient movement throughout. The only inconvenient is that entry for mobility devices is at the back of the building. Let management know that you are coming so they can prepare and assist you on arrival.

The alfresco area is fully accessible from the front door if you are coming from Darlinghurst Road and it provides a pleasant experience, allowing guests to place orders directly from their table. If needed, management is also available to assist with ordering and table service.

The accessible entrance is located at the back of the venue. Guests can enter the lift via Earl Place, where there's easy drop-off access through the loading dock. The lift connects to all levels, and accessible restrooms are situated near the lift on the ground floor, offering direct access. You can freely roam around and use the lift to go to the restroom if you have ordered too much water from the bar.

Potts Point Hotel


The Calyx is an accessible exhibit located in the Botanic Gardens. The venue was built around the site of the Arc Glasshouse, in the south western corner of the garden. Intelligent, sensitive architecture has replaced the Tropical Centre pyramid and foyer.
The Calyx is an integrated mix of indoor and outdoor areas, with the exhibitions changing on a regular basis, reinventing itself through emotively themed exhibitions. There is step-free access into and throughout the building. There is a small cafe located in The Calyx, but there are no accessible toilets. Accessible parking bays are provided near the Woolloomooloo Gate and outside the Art Gallery of NSW.

The Calyx

Poolside Cafe is located at the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool on Mrs Macquaries Road on the fringe of the Royal Botanic Gardens. Watch the lapping swimmers from behind the café’s floor to ceiling glass windows or the open-air terrace. There is a disabled parking spot available adjacent to the pool staff parking area for easy level entry into the venue. Accessible toilets are located on the lower pool level and can be accessed via lift.

Poolside Cafe (Andrew Boy Charlton Pool)

Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool is accessible to wheelchair users. There is step-free access into the venue, to the changing rooms and to the cafe. The walkway to the entrance has a shallow incline to the reception area. The walkway is wide and accessible for wheelchair users and those using mobility aids. 

There are handrails on either side of the walkway and the floor is studded to prevent falls or slips. There is also one unisex family room and an accessible change room and bathroom facility at the centre. There is a 30cm blocked lip on the edge of the pool. You can find an inclined ramp at the shallow end of the pool for ease of accessibility for those that may find the 30cm blocked lip limits their access.

If required there is a mobility ladder and accessibility hoist situated in the shallow end of the 50-metre lap swimming pool. Please notify staff if you require assistance in accessing the pool with the aid of the hoist.

There is also a designated accessible parking space adjacent to the entrance and there is street parking available along Mrs Macquarie’s Road next to the centre.

The threshold and the indoors might be a bit tight but manageable for scooters or wheelchairs. However, there’s no toilet provided and the restaurant is located on a narrow, bustling street with limited parking, and there is no designated accessible parking space available, which may require additional planning for accessibility needs.

Macleay Street Pizza was a beloved, family-owned pizzeria, established in 1985 and celebrated for its authentic thin-crust pizzas and warm, friendly atmosphere. Known as a cosy spot in the heart of Potts Point, inviting patrons to savour their meals on-site or in the comfort of their own homes.

For accessibility, the entrance is level with the sidewalk, making it convenient for visitors to step inside without stairs or barriers. Nestled on a vibrant, bustling street, the area has limited parking options, and unfortunately, there are no designated spaces for those with disabilities. Inside, the welcoming sight of checkered tablecloths and the aroma of fresh, oven-baked pizzas create an authentic Italian ambiance.

The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is a green oasis nestled on Sydney Harbour. Home to world leading plant science and stunning horticultural displays. Royal Botanic Gardens is an accessible park and garden. There is step-free access via the Art Gallery Road and Circular Quay entrances. The accessible entrances are Morshead Gate, Victoria Lodge Gate, Yurong Gate, Opera House Gate (via Sydney Opera House forecourt), Queen Elizabeth II Gate (via Sydney Opera House forecourt), Conservatorium Gate and Government House Gate.
If you're visiting The Calyx, the nearest accessible gates are Woolloomooloo Gate or Government House Gate. Parts of the gardens may be inaccessible due to sets of stairs. The Botanic Garden provides several accessible cafes and restaurants. Accessible toilets can be found in Palm Grove Centre, the Mare and Foal Lawn near Farm Cove and in the Calyx.

Royal Botanic Gardens

The indoor area is also easily accessible, as there are no steps or barriers, allowing smooth entry for wheelchair users or those with mobility challenges. However, located along a narrow, busy street, parking is limited, and there are no designated accessible parking spaces nearby. This setup offers a warm and accessible environment for all diners, though visitors may need to plan ahead regarding parking.

Over all, it’s a delightful spot for those seeking a true taste of Thailand in a warm and accessible environment.

Lady Chu is a charming restaurant with natural elements and soft lighting, making it an appealing choice for those seeking an intimate and picturesque dining experience.

Lady Chu offers a delightful outdoor dining area, providing ample space for guests to enjoy their meals in a charming, open-air setting. This outdoor seating area is particularly accommodating for wheelchair users or individuals with mobility needs, as it is spacious and accessible from the sidewalk. However, accessing the indoor dining space presents a challenge for wheelchair users due to two small steps at the entrance, which may not be easily navigable for those with limited mobility. The toilets are inside the venue and impossible to reach unless you can go through the steps at the entrance. The restaurant is located along a bustling street with limited parking options, and there is no designated accessible parking available nearby.

This ambiance, combined with its outdoor seating on a lively street, makes it an ideal spot for those looking to enjoy delicious food while soaking in the vibrant local scene.

Lady Chu

Greenknowe Café is a charming perfect spot for a quick coffee break or to seat peacefully inside its picturesque setting or in the terrace allowing guests to savour their food while enjoying the surrounding environment.

The venue is situated on a gentle slope, featuring a ramp that connects the footpath to the café, making it accessible to all guests, regardless of their mobility needs.  The threshold of the door presents a little bump which should not be a problem. Seating arrangements include options for both indoor and outdoor dining, with tables spaced apart to accommodate various accessibility requirements. Although there are some obstacles within the venue, navigation is generally straightforward, allowing easy movement throughout the space.
 

The toilets are inaccessible. If you can use them, they may present some obstacles for mobility devices, as the hallways are quite tight and narrow. Additionally, the venue often keeps items along the corridor leading to the restrooms. We recommend asking the staff for assistance to make the path more accessible; however, we cannot guarantee that this will be possible, depending on your needs. While the toilets are at flat level (the corridor is also flat), they may not be easy to use due to the lack of handrails and space to move a wheelchair in the restroom area.

Greenknowe Cafe

Piccolo Bar in Kings Cross is a charming gem, blending vintage allure with a cosy ambiance, perfect for savoring each moment over a cup of expertly brewed coffee or a delightful bite. The restaurant offers an inviting outdoor dining area, and its main entrance features a gentle slope, making access easy. However, the restroom space inside is quite limited, making it less convenient for wheelchair users, and nearby parking is limited with no designated accessible spaces.

Piccolo Bar Kings Cross

Sun Hot Bakery Café is a local spot located within the Kings Cross Centre. The shopping mall is easily accessible, with entrances on both sides and a ramp linking Darlinghurst Road to Bayswater Avenue. The café is situated on the fully accessible ground floor and features a low counter, making it simple to order their affordable and delicious Vietnamese dishes or grab a quick coffee while waiting for someone finishing their shopping.
 

There’s a small table near the counter if you’d like to sit and enjoy your meal. While the space around it can accommodate a wheelchair for a short time, the area can get a bit busy with foot traffic, though it’s still manageable.

For added convenience, public restrooms are located directly across from the café within the complex. If you need assistance or directions, the friendly and experienced owner is always happy to help and share local tips.

Sun Hot Bakery

Primary Coffee is a welcoming spot where every cup is crafted to perfection, inviting guests to relax and enjoy the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee in a warm, lively setting. The restaurant features an outdoor dining area, ideal for soaking in the ambiance. However, the main entrance has a high step that may pose a challenge for wheelchair users, and dining extends to a second floor with steep stairs. Nearby parking is limited and does not include designated accessible spaces.

Primary Coffee

The State Library of New South Wales is a historic and iconic cultural institution in Sydney. It houses an extensive collection of books, manuscripts, and exhibits, offering a space for learning and exploration. The library is also a hub for research, events, and community engagement.

While the main entrance features several steps, a dedicated ramp on the right-hand side provides a wheelchair-friendly path to an elevator for entry. Inside, two elevators allow disabled and wheelchair users to access all floors, with no steps in any exhibition areas. Each level includes a disabled-access restroom, ensuring comfort and convenience. Although the library does not have its own parking, the nearest parking facility is located at Sydney Hospital. Overall, the library is highly accommodating for visitors with disabilities.

State Library of New South Wales

Healthy Nuts, on the ground floor of the Kings Cross complex under the famous Coca-Cola sign, is a spacious and welcoming shop that’s perfect for grabbing a healthy snack or drink. The shop is easy to access from the street, with a flat, wide entrance that makes it simple for wheelchairs or mobility aids to get inside. Once you’re in, there are cozy couches that add a relaxed vibe, and they can be moved around if needed to make more space.

The counter where you order isn’t too high, so it’s easy to see everything they offer and place your order. If you need a hand, the staff are super friendly and happy to help. While the shop has two floors, the lower level can only be reached by stairs, so it might not work for everyone.

There aren’t any toilets inside the shop, but don’t worry—the Kings Cross complex has public restrooms that are wheelchair-friendly. Just head into the complex, follow the ramps to the end, and you’ll find the restrooms on the left side.

It’s a chill spot to enjoy some healthy treats, with staff who go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable!
