🎨 The Glasshouse Regional Gallery

The Glasshouse Regional Gallery is host to a rotating collection of 15 to 20 exhibitions each year featuring contemporary, indigenous, historical, traditional, design and sculptural artworks, right in the heart of the Port Macquarie CBD. The gallery provides ramp entry on Clarence and Hay Street, lift access from street level, and two in-house wheelchairs available for those who might need them. 🏖️ The Town Beach

Town Beach is the closest beach to the Port Macquarie CBD and most easily accessible via a four minute drive to the two accessible parking spots available near the Marine Rescue building along Stewart St. If you’re feeling up for it, Town Beach can also be reached via a 10 minute coastal walk along a breakwall lined by painted rocks with a wide, paved path easily traversable on a wheelchair that provides a great view of the beach and river directly connected to the Port Macquarie CBD. The Town Beach provides free beach wheelchairs for hire during lifeguard hours that can be booked in advance by calling 0422312940 during business hours. The beach is level, with a short trip from ramp to waterline that makes navigating it on the beach wheelchair an enjoyable experience. Also available nearby to the beach is the Town Beach Park, which provides a liberty swing for wheelchair users and sensory play like sound bouncers. The park's surface includes both firm ground and rubberized areas that are easily traversable on a wheelchair, as well as an open grass area that includes undercover picnic tables with firm surfaces connecting all park amenities. The Town Beach Park is most easily accessed via the accessible parking spaces found on Alban Place off Stewart Street.

🛝 Livvi's Place Playground

Livvi's Place Playground in Westport Park is an accessible, fully fenced playground with a great view of the water, accessible with a four minute drive from the Port Macquarie CBD. The play-area comes fitted with a wheelchair accessible pirate ship, a wheelchair accessible spinning carousel, musical instruments, a sandpit and bring-your-own-chalk chalkboard puzzles. For those looking to cool off, an adjacent water play area is also available. Shaded BBQ areas and picnic tables are available and amenities are connected with easy to roll pathways.
