    About this place

The Canberra Rotary Peace bell is situated within the Canberra Nara Peace Park precinct on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin.

Officially launched on 23 February 2018 the bell provides a destination in Nara Park to remind us that we want a peaceful World. The bell was provided by the World Peace Bell Association which is a non-profit and non-sectarian organisation formed in Tokyo to promote peace throughout the world.

The original World Peace Bell was established in 1954, and was cast from coins and medals donated by numerous communities around the world & is housed in the forecourt of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, & is rung on World Peace Day.

Paved level pathways provide access to the bell however there are three steps to be navigated to reach the actual bell.

Accessible toilet can be found in the car park next to the one designated accessible parking bay.
