    About this place

Varna Park is a spacious suburban green space located between Varna/Wallace Street and Leichhardt Street, with additional access from Wills Avenue. A narrow, informal unpaved path from Leichhardt Street provides entry to the park, while access points from both Varna/Wallace Street and Wills Avenue are via grassed, sandy areas. As there are no paved pathways from any entrance, access throughout the park is predominantly over natural surfaces, which limits accessibility for wheelchair users. The park features a grassy landscape with gentle to moderate undulation, connecting key areas such as open fields, an exercise zone, a playground and picnic areas. These amenities make Varna Park a popular destination for family outings, picnics and birthday celebrations. A designated off‑leash dog area is located at the eastern end of the park. Sheltered picnic tables with fixed benches are distributed throughout the park, while additional park benches shaded by large trees provide places to sit and relax. There are no public toilets located nearby and no designated accessible parking spaces. Public transport access is convenient, with bus routes 360, 362 and 379 stopping nearby on Macpherson Street.
