Please call the venue in advance to ensure they can accommodate your arrival, as the lift chair is the only way to access the restaurant. Once you’ve used the lift chair, the pathway to the venue is flat.

The café offers a spacious outdoor seating area in front of the main kiosk and counter, as well as an indoor dining space. The indoor area is easily accessible, with a wide and open threshold, allowing you to choose between the terrace and the indoors. The friendly staff are always ready to assist and ensure a comfortable experience at Tento.

Simon Says Juice in Darlinghurst is a renowned café celebrated for its fresh juices and healthy offerings.

They’ve recently given the place a fun makeover, making the ground level way more accessible and welcoming. The door is wider, so getting in with your mobility device is a breeze! Just a heads-up: the seating has booth tables, so your device might have to hang out at the end of the booth in the middle of the venue, which could make it tricky for others to get by. But we think it’ll work out just fine! They’ve added a couple of small tables in front of the counter facing the street, making it easy to have a quick stop while waiting for the bus or passing by.

One major inconvenience is the lack of restrooms, which means you’ll need to head to the nearest local pub, The Beacham (10 meters), which has accessible toilets. However, keep in mind that it may not open very early in the morning if you’re an early bird.

Their famous juices are a hit all around Sydney, and the new menu includes a variety of smoothies and bowls, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a sustainable twist.

The District Court took up residence in the early 1900s, and a new wing to the courthouse was added. In the 1920s, the newly founded High Court moved in, and additional courts were built. Today, Darlinghurst Courts constitute seven courtrooms and hears Supreme Court and District Court matters.

Access to the Courthouse is limited for those with mobility issues  due to it being a historical budiling. Entry is via Oxford Street and a ramp will be deployed to provide access to the venue and an accessible bathroom with be available on-site during the Sydney Festival.

The Shift Eatery in Surry Hills is a trendy, 100% plant-based café known for its delicious vegan sandwiches, coffee, and brunch dishes. It offers a casual and cozy atmosphere, with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a  spot for those seeking healthy, cruelty-free meals in the heart of Sydney.

The café is wheelchair accessible thanks to a ramp at the entrance, allowing mobility devices to enter the venue without any issues. However, since it is a small space, navigating inside may be more challenging during busy hours. You can easily place your order inside and enjoy your coffee or meal in either the indoor or outdoor seating areas, depending on the weather.

Unfortunately, the toilets in the venue are not accessible. The door threshold is quite narrow, and reaching the communal bathroom requires going up some steps.  Closest accessible toilets can be found at Central Train Station.

The Kashbah Hotel on William Street is a lively, fun pub with a great atmosphere and a solid selection of drinks, perfect for a casual night out.

However, being an older building and due to strata regulations, the pub isn’t able to make renovations to improve accessibility. There’s a step at the entrance, and since William Street is a bit hilly, there's a small (about 5 cm) step that helps balance the building, which can be tricky for mobility devices to get over.

Unfortunately, there’s no outside seating area either, so the pub isn’t really accessible for those with mobility needs. It's a great spot for those who can navigate the steps, but not the best choice if accessibility is a concern.

Strand Kasbah

Sun Hot Bakery Café is a local spot located within the Kings Cross Centre. The shopping mall is easily accessible, with entrances on both sides and a ramp linking Darlinghurst Road to Bayswater Avenue. The café is situated on the fully accessible ground floor and features a low counter, making it simple to order their affordable and delicious Vietnamese dishes or grab a quick coffee while waiting for someone finishing their shopping.
 

There’s a small table near the counter if you’d like to sit and enjoy your meal. While the space around it can accommodate a wheelchair for a short time, the area can get a bit busy with foot traffic, though it’s still manageable.

For added convenience, public restrooms are located directly across from the café within the complex. If you need assistance or directions, the friendly and experienced owner is always happy to help and share local tips.

Sun Hot Bakery

Healthy Nuts, on the ground floor of the Kings Cross complex under the famous Coca-Cola sign, is a spacious and welcoming shop that’s perfect for grabbing a healthy snack or drink. The shop is easy to access from the street, with a flat, wide entrance that makes it simple for wheelchairs or mobility aids to get inside. Once you’re in, there are cozy couches that add a relaxed vibe, and they can be moved around if needed to make more space.

The counter where you order isn’t too high, so it’s easy to see everything they offer and place your order. If you need a hand, the staff are super friendly and happy to help. While the shop has two floors, the lower level can only be reached by stairs, so it might not work for everyone.

There aren’t any toilets inside the shop, but don’t worry—the Kings Cross complex has public restrooms that are wheelchair-friendly. Just head into the complex, follow the ramps to the end, and you’ll find the restrooms on the left side.

It’s a chill spot to enjoy some healthy treats, with staff who go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable!

Penny’s Hotel in Kings Cross is a super welcoming spot, made easy and comfortable for everyone.
 

It is located on a wide footpath, so there’s plenty of room outside, and while there are stairs at the main entrance, there’s a lift right on the left side of the building for anyone who needs it. 

The lift takes you straight upstairs, where everything is clearly marked for a smooth experience.

Inside, there’s loads of space, and the bar is not so far from the lift entrance. With wide paths between tables and easy access to accessible bathrooms, with handrails at the back of the first floor, you can order right from your table, and the friendly staff are always around to help, making sure you have a relaxed, enjoyable time at Penny’s!

Pennys Hotel

The Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust (SCGT) precinct is located off Driver Avenue in Moore Park.

This 'Sports Central' precinct is just a few minutes from central Sydney and is home to two of Australia’s iconic sports and entertainment venues - Allianz Stadium and the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Chula, a cozy Mexican spot in Potts Point, offers a warm and vibrant vibe paired with authentic Mexican dishes. It’s easy to get to, thanks to a ramp in the connected building complex that leads straight into the restaurant. Once inside, you’ll find smooth flooring and movable tables and chairs, which make it a bit more flexible for anyone using a wheelchair or other mobility aids.

The pathways between tables are fairly spacious, but they might need a little rearranging to make things more comfortable for larger mobility devices. While the main areas are mostly accessible, the restrooms can be tricky—they’re on another level with two steps to navigate, and the hallway leading there is pretty narrow.

If you’re thinking of visiting and have specific needs, it’s a good idea to give them a call ahead of time. You’ll enjoy great food and street views, and the staff will do their best to help make your visit enjoyable!

Chula

Lil Darlin Surry Hills is a casual & lively cocktail bar & restaurant footsteps away from Central Station.

There is a step up to the entry door which will need to be navigated accessed via paved level pathway approach.   Inside features high tables with stools, access to the bar & lower tables with chairs.  If gaining access is too tricky with the step at the front there are street tables available.

With a diverse menu filled with tapas, share plates, pizzas, wine & unique cocktails, there is something for everyone at Lil Darlin.

Li'l Darlin Surry Hills

Central station is at the southern end of the Sydney CBD. It is the largest and busiest railway station in NSW and services almost all of the lines on the Sydney Trains network, and is the major terminus for NSW TrainLink services. It occupies a large city block separating Haymarket, Surry Hills, and the CBD, bounded by Railway Square and Pitt Street in the west, Eddy Avenue in the north, and Elizabeth Street in the east. It is spread over two levels. On the lower-level are the trains serving the Sydney network. The platforms are reached by a series of lifts.

On the upper level are the Country trains serving the wider NSW network, from the original Grand Concourse. The two levels are connected by a large lift. Very occasionally, if this is not operating, a member of station staff can escort you through a staff only route, between the two levels.

The taxi pickup and drop-off point is on the upper Grand Concourse level.

If replacement buses are running when there are line closures, these leave from Eddy Avenue, near the taxis.

There are accessible toilets on both levels. These are locked with an MLAK. If you don't have a key, ask an attendant or station staff.

Central Station

Mexican Restaurant, The food is amazing and authentic. The owners are mexican. Super friendly and eager.to accommodate. Entrance is accessible.  Tables can be moved if more space is needed.

Sonora in Potts Point offers a welcoming and lively Mexican dining experience, where friendly service complements an innovative menu. Sonora features curated tasting menus, including a chef’s “Feed Me” option on Wednesdays and a decadent brunch with tacos and margaritas on the weekends.

Sonora is fully accessible, accommodating both wide and smaller devices. The main entry is at the corner of the street, accessible through their ample door threshold. Despite being a small, charming venue, the tables are spaced apart, providing enough room both inside and outside, in the terrace. The friendly staff will be happy to guide you to an appropriate space in the dining area.

Toilets are located on the right-hand side of the venue, and you won't get lost on the way to the restrooms. There are two restrooms, both equipped with handrails and enough space to maneuver a device.

Sonora Potts Point

Whether you're a ramen enthusiast or trying it for the first time, Bones Ramen offers a delightful dining experience in the heart of Kings Cross.

The restaurant is located on the hill of Bayswater Road and is mostly accessible from the footpath. The entry features a flat surface that transitions into a slight step on one side of the door threshold, which is manageable to navigate with a bit of assistance if needed. Otherwise you can always have some food in their outdoors area. The outdoors tables are quite small and the available spots are on the hill. However, if you can manage a slight steep hill, you can always enjoy their food.

While the dimensions of the entry are not large, they are sufficient for entry. Once inside, the space is somewhat limited, but there is often the possibility of finding a table for you and your guests upon entry.
 

Please note that they do not have accessible toilets, but you can attempt to enter them since the path from the main dining area is relatively easy.

There is 1 parallel parking space in 31 Roslyn Street, Eastside between Ward Avenue and Roslyn Gardens 3.2m wide by 7.3m long.

There is a private garage at 33 Bayswater Road with an accessible entrance.

Bones Ramen

Paddo Inn

Centrally located in Surry Hills, Belvoir is one of Australia’s most distinguished and beloved theatre companies. Belvoir St Theatre are able to accommodate patrons in wheelchairs and their guests. They encourage patrons with accessibility needs to contact the box office with any requests.

There is a lift access to all levels and an accessible toilet in their foyer. There is one accessible parking spot directly outside the theatre. Unfortunately, patrons are unable to book this parking spot with the council. However, there are some unlimited parking available directly opposite the theatre after 6pm and in some surrounding streets. Marta Osteria

The Glider is right on Victoria Street in Potts Point, just a hop away from Kings Cross Station, making it super easy to get to with the adapted roads. The café has a lovely outdoor area that's perfect for chilling out. You’ll find a few tables right on the main street, so you can sit there without worrying about blocking anyone’s path. The outdoor space has a faux garden floor and a driveway kerb ramp that makes it easy to access the cosy little terrace.

Inside, there’s a noticeable step up to the main café area, so you might have trouble getting in with a mobility device. But don’t sweat it! You can always ask for table service on the terrace, and the friendly staff will be more than happy to help you out.

They don’t have toilets at the café, but no worries, Kings Cross Station is just a few meters away, and it has fully accessible restrooms that are easy to navigate.

Glider Cafe

Saint Peter is an accessible pescatarian restaurant located on Oxford Street in Paddington.  The venue offers step free access but the restaurant has limited space with only 22 seats available.  

There is a fixed 12-metre Carrara marble-topped bar, with kitchen on one side of the bench & diners on the other with moveable brown leather stools.  The open kitchen allows the chefs more cooking space, while also giving diners an opportunity to watch the action.

The wine list emphasises Australian makers, & cocktails use locally made gins and whiskies. There's a bar area to sit at, if you're just looking to stop by for a drink & a snack.

Accessible parking can be found at The Gordon on Newcombe Street.  An accessible toilet can be found around 2km away with adult change at the Australian Museum on William Street. 

Saint Peter

The Australian Museum offers permanent galleries including the popular Dinosaurs exhibit, temporary and touring exhibitions; and has a collection of more than 18 million objects spanning culture and natural history.

The Australian Museum is fully accessible to visitors using wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The main entrance features a ramp with no steps, ensuring easy access for disabled individuals and wheelchair users. Inside, two elevators connect all floors, allowing seamless navigation throughout the building. While most exhibition areas are step-free, the Westpac Long Gallery on the G floor includes some steps. The UG level houses a dining area that can also be accessed via a ramp or elevator. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available on every floor, enhancing convenience for visitors. Although the museum does not have a dedicated parking lot, the nearest parking is located at 70 Riley St, Darlinghurst. 

Australian Museum

Bloom Potts Point is a unique restaurant that blends a natural ambiance with exquisite cuisine, offering every guest a delightful and refreshing dining experience. 

With an inviting outdoor dining area, guests can enjoy fresh air and scenic surroundings. While the main entrance has steps, there is a ramped entrance on the right side, providing easy access for wheelchair users. Inside, the spacious layout and accessible restroom ensure comfort and convenience for all, though parking nearby is limited and lacks designated accessible parking spaces.
