This on-street accessible parking space is located at 9 George Street. It is a parallel parking space and is clearly marked by a “P – ONLY” wheelchair parking sign. The accessible parking space is located to the left of the sign.

There is also a Special Event Clearway sign at this location. The sign shows that the clearway operates from 9:00 am on Friday to 10:00 pm on Sunday. The accessible parking space cannot be used while the Special Event Clearway is operating. NSW Government rules state that a Mobility Parking Scheme permit does not allow vehicles to park on a clearway or special event clearway during the signed times. If there is no Special Event Clearway sign, parking is allowed as normal during this time.

The footpath beside the parking space has a hard paved surface and is generally flat. There is a kerb ramp close to the parking space, allowing wheelchair users to move from the road onto the footpath without having to go over the full-height kerb. The kerb ramp is located near one end of the parking area.

There is no clearly marked wide side access area beside the parking space. This means that the amount of space available for transferring between a vehicle and a wheelchair may be limited, depending on where the vehicle is parked. Cars also travel along the road beside the parking space, so extra care may be needed when getting in or out of a vehicle.

The footpath is reasonably wide, but there are several fixed objects along the route, including parking sign poles, street lights and a rubbish bin. These do not completely block the footpath, but they reduce the available width in some areas.

The road surface is asphalt. There are some joints and slightly uneven areas close to the kerb. There is also a small slope where the kerb ramp meets the road, so wheelchair users may need to take extra care when moving between the road and the footpath.
