This local Indian take away place is in the middle of Oxford Street.

They provide one table in the outside in case you have difficulty becoming the one step at the very entrance.

The venue is small but if you can make it inside their dishes look amazing,  you can always take away or eat in any of the tables inside,  are sure they can put some chairs aside and accommodate for your arrival.

 They do not have toilets for the public but 15 minutes away there is an accessible hotel.

O‘gallo is a food chain. The little store in Oxford Street in Darlinghurst is quite small and cozy. 
They provide 2-3 outdoor tables for everyone to enjoy their meal. 
The venue is not step-free however there’s only one small step will allow some devices to go in  check accessibility pictures for more information. 

They have booth tables and small tables inside that can definitely accommodate for wheelchair users too. 
They do not have a accessible toilets within the venue.

This small takeaway venue provides sitting inside the venue however the tables are high tables and there are not outside tables. 
 The counter  is not too high so it would be easy to order even from the inside or even from the outside if you let the nice staff  know that you are there.

The entrance of the venue present has a small step that might be easy to overcome for some people with mobility limitations.

They do not have toilets for the public, however they mentioned that the closest toilets available for use are up the road in the corner where the hotels are.

Small and welcoming venue in Oxford street with a wide entrance, very accessible. The floor is at flat level and they have a small table that connects the inside and the outside of the venue. 
 

You can try their delicious gyros inside the venue or you can take away  ordering in the counter.

No accessible toilets are found in the venue. 

Santorini Gyros Bar

the venue is very humble and tiny. It presents small step at eight entrance that might be easy to overcome for some.

the counter is a bit high but you can easily order and get assistance from their staff

There are some tables however their space inside the venue , however, the space is quite narrow.

Kenny's Pork Rolls

The Oxford Hotel has a second entrance past the outdoor seating that is accessible via a ramp, as the main entrance includes a small set of stairs. The accessible entrance leads directly into the games room on the left and the main bar area to the right. This bar area has plenty of seating and space between tables, however they are higher tables with taller seats. Lower tables and seating is available in the garden further into the bar area. An accessible toilet is located within the games room. While signage indicating accessible features is limited, staff are friendly and happy to assist! There is also plenty of outdoor seating available along the footpath at the front of the venue.

The Oxford Hotel

The East Sydney Community and Arts Centre has two entrances, both offering step-free access via lifts. Clear accessibility signage is present throughout the venue. Unisex wheelchair-accessible toilets, along with baby change facilities and a parent room, are located on the upper level of the centre. The lower level features ambulant-accessible toilets, a short distance from the building’s second entrance. These facilities are well signposted, making the space easy to navigate for visitors! 

East Sydney Community and Arts Centre

Darlinghurst Courthouse was constructed in 1835-1845 in response to overcrowding issues at King Street Courts.  It was the first purpose-built criminal court in the colony and has been used ever since as a courthouse. The District Court took up residence in the early 1900s, and a new wing to the courthouse was added. In the 1920s, the newly founded High Court moved in, and additional courts were built. Today, Darlinghurst Courts constitute seven courtrooms and hears Supreme Court and District Court matters.

Access to the Courthouse is limited for those with mobility issues  due to it being a historical budiling. Entry is via Oxford Street and a ramp will be deployed to provide access to the venue and an accessible bathroom with be available on-site during the Sydney Festival.

Additional accessible toilets can be found under 1kms away at Wallamulla Park, Australian Museum & Kippax Anzac Parade. 

Darlinghurst Courthouse

In 1835, Governor Bourke, in response to the overcrowding and chaotic state of King Street Courts, directed the design of a courthouse outside Sydney Town, on the hill opposite the new goal. This was for convenient prisoner access and to separate criminal from civil matters.

A designated Disability and Equity Support space is located further into the campus on the right, with clear signage, and there is plenty of outdoor seating across the campus. 

The University of Notre Dame Australia

Simon Says Juice in Darlinghurst is a renowned café celebrated for its fresh juices and healthy offerings.

They’ve recently given the place a fun makeover, making the ground level way more accessible and welcoming. The door is wider, so getting in with your mobility device is a breeze! Just a heads-up: the seating has booth tables, so your device might have to hang out at the end of the booth in the middle of the venue, which could make it tricky for others to get by. But we think it’ll work out just fine! They’ve added a couple of small tables in front of the counter facing the street, making it easy to have a quick stop while waiting for the bus or passing by.

One major inconvenience is the lack of restrooms, which means you’ll need to head to the nearest local pub, The Beacham (10 meters), which has accessible toilets. However, keep in mind that it may not open very early in the morning if you’re an early bird.

Their famous juices are a hit all around Sydney, and the new menu includes a variety of smoothies and bowls, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a sustainable twist.

Please call the venue in advance to ensure they can accommodate your arrival, as the lift chair is the only way to access the restaurant. Once you’ve used the lift chair, the pathway to the venue is flat.

The café offers a spacious outdoor seating area in front of the main kiosk and counter, as well as an indoor dining space. The indoor area is easily accessible, with a wide and open threshold, allowing you to choose between the terrace and the indoors. The friendly staff are always ready to assist and ensure a comfortable experience at Tento.

TenTo

Mini coffer shop on the corner of South Dowling and Taylor Street. The coffee shop is only accessible via a 3 step staircase at the front of the store. The bathroom is in the back area of the facility which can only be accessed through the front staircase entrance. Outside seating with space being relatively restricted but still accessible.

Bootsdarling

Bootsdarling Café, while charming and full of character, is unfortunately not accessible due to two large steps at the front door. These steps can pose a challenge for individuals using wheelchairs or mobility devices, making it difficult to enter the café. Only Terrace service is provided in this Café.

Inside, you’ll find a warm and inviting atmosphere with cozy décor and comfortable seating, perfect for enjoying a meal or coffee. The café is known for its delicious offerings, including fresh pastries and great coffee, but the lack of a ramp or alternative entrance limits access for those who need it.

The Bootsdarling Café offers a delightful experience on its terrace, which is a popular choice for many on sunny mornings, allowing you to soak up some vitamin D while enjoying a delicious snack and drink if you fancy. Table service is provided, but it's important to keep the accessibility limitations in mind when planning your visit. For instance, you won’t be able to access the toilets inside the venue. However, if you are visiting, oxford street is right around the corner while Bootsdarling Café rests in a tranquil corner in South Dowling Street.

South Dowling Sandwiches in Darlinghurst is a go-to spot for anyone craving delicious, hearty sandwiches made with fresh ingredients. The vibe is lively, the venue is always crowded during lunch time. the perfect spot to grab and go if you are around or in your lunch break.

The sandwich shop offers a few small picnic tables for those who can’t wait and want to sit and enjoy their food on the spot. Keep in mind that the venue is quite popular, which may lead to some waiting and socializing in the corners. However, we bet people will make it easy for you to pass through.

One thing to note is that the entrance has a step, which makes it a bit tricky for those using mobility devices to get in. But don’t let that stop you! The area has good parking and accessible roads, but no accessible parking in particular. It’s still easy to get to the shop thanks to the curb ramp in front of the venue in the corner of the street. For hard of hearing or visually impaired the auditoriums are setup with the Fidelio headset & neck loop options.  These receivers are available at the box office when tickets are purchased.  The neck loop option works in conjunction with the hearing aid + the headset has adjustable volume to boost the dialogue levels.

Coffee shop on Liverpool Street. There is a slight step to enter the coffee shop making the coffee shop accessible. The seating arrangement is spacious allowing individuals with mobility impairments to sit comfortably. However, due to the small nature of the coffee shop these is no accessible toilet.  

Cafe C&M (Darlinghurst)

However, the store does not have an accessible restroom, and there are no designated disabled parking spaces available outside.

Camperdown Cellars

Small coffee shop on the corner of comber and Ice Street. These is easy access with an easy roll on ramp to access the cafe. The setup of the cafe is very spacious allowing people to both sit inside or outside freely.  .

43 Boundary Street. Northside, between Glenview Lane and Glenview Street. There is 1 x parallel parking space, 3.2m wide by 7m long.

20 Leichhardt Street. Eastside, between Barcom Avenue and Boundary Street. There are 3 x 60-degree angled parking spaces, 9.6m wide by 7.8m long.

Ada's Affair

The Kashbah Hotel on William Street is a lively, fun pub with a great atmosphere and a solid selection of drinks, perfect for a casual night out.

However, being an older building and due to strata regulations, the pub isn’t able to make renovations to improve accessibility. There’s a step at the entrance, and since William Street is a bit hilly, there's a small (about 5 cm) step that helps balance the building, which can be tricky for mobility devices to get over.

Unfortunately, there’s no outside seating area either, so the pub isn’t really accessible for those with mobility needs. It's a great spot for those who can navigate the steps, but not the best choice if accessibility is a concern.

Strand Kasbah

Restaurant and bar on Victoria Street. Restaurant has a small step on entry making the bottom floor easily accessible. However, the second floor is only accessible by steps meaning it can't be accessed from those with mobility impairments. Toilets accommodate those with mobility issues however no designated toilet. 

Eat Thai Darlinghurst

The Organic Bread Bar in Darlinghurst is a vibrant and inviting take away bakery known for its delicious organic breads and baked goods. The space features a lovely open layout, making it feel welcoming to smell the delicious fresh baked goods.
 

Accessibility is a priority here, as the bakery has a wide open area that caters to people with disabilities and mobility devices. There’s an embedded ramp connecting the footpath to the bakery, ensuring easy access to the counter, which is at a slightly higher level. Despite the height of the counter, ordering is hassle-free, and the friendly staff are always ready to help you.

The bakery has limited space, and while you can see the bakers working on your fresh goods inside, the outdoor area where the bread is displayed and where customers place takeaway orders only allows for ordering and taking away their incredible local products. Public toilets are not provided or available.

Fonda Mexican

The Australian Museum offers permanent galleries including the popular Dinosaurs exhibit, temporary and touring exhibitions; and has a collection of more than 18 million objects spanning culture and natural history.

The Australian Museum is fully accessible to visitors using wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The main entrance features a ramp with no steps, ensuring easy access for disabled individuals and wheelchair users. Inside, two elevators connect all floors, allowing seamless navigation throughout the building. While most exhibition areas are step-free, the Westpac Long Gallery on the G floor includes some steps. The UG level houses a dining area that can also be accessed via a ramp or elevator. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available on every floor, enhancing convenience for visitors. Although the museum does not have a dedicated parking lot, the nearest parking is located at 70 Riley St, Darlinghurst. 

Australian Museum

Bad mama is a semi-accessible venue with step-free front to ground floor & manual door, but steep stairs up to the rear of the restaurant with no other way of going up.  No portable ramps available.

The Shift Eatery in Surry Hills is a trendy, 100% plant-based café known for its delicious vegan sandwiches, coffee, and brunch dishes. The café is wheelchair accessible thanks to a ramp at the entrance, allowing mobility devices to enter the venue without any issues. However, since it is a small space, navigating inside may be more challenging during busy hours. You can easily place your order inside and enjoy your coffee or meal in either the indoor or outdoor seating areas, depending on the weather.

Unfortunately, the toilets in the venue are not accessible. The door threshold is quite narrow, and reaching the communal bathroom requires going up some steps.  Closest accessible toilets can be found at Central Train Station.

169 Darlinghurst is a floral café located on a busy corner, offering a welcoming atmosphere. The venue is not step-free; it has two small steps to access the terrace, and there are three additional steps at the entryway, located a bit further on the terrace. The space is limited. The Clock in Surry Hills is a classic Aussie pub with a big, welcoming vibe right in the heart of Surry Hills, on a bustling road that comes alive on weekend evenings. With plenty of space to move around, getting in and out is a breeze, thanks to the chair lift at the entrance and an internal lift that reaches every level. The Clock is fully accessible, making it easy to enjoy your time here without any worries. The friendly staff, quick ordering, and helpful security team ensure that everyone feels at ease.

Inside, the spacious layout keeps things comfortable, and for those who need accessible facilities, there’s a dedicated toilet on the courtyard level that’s easy to reach on the lower floor right next to the lifts.  The ground level is where most events are run and where you can easily stroll around and be part of the interactive games and shows. On the mid level, there is a whiskey bar with an open space, very cost and accessible by the lift. On the top level, you can easily move around hallways and decide where to sit, if inside or in the balcony. Bear in mind that the balcony presents a small step and that is quite narrow for a wheelchair.

The Clock is all about making everyone feel right at home, so whether you’re catching up with friends or simply soaking in the atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy yourself!

Coffee shop on corner of boundary and Glen view street. To access the coffee shop, you need to step over an even step which could be difficult for somebody with accessibility issues. No accessible bathrooms however relative spacious setup.  

Accessible Parking can be found in 43 Boundary Street. Northside, between Glenview Lane and Glenview Street. There is 1 x parallel parking space, 3.2m wide by 7m long.
 

The second closest accessible parking can be found in 20 Leichhardt Street. Eastside, between Barcom Avenue and Boundary Street. There are 3 x 60-degree angled parking spaces, 9.6m wide by 7.8m long.

Parlour B

Little coffee shop on Boundary Street. The place has one moderate step to access the coffee shop making it relatively accessible. Due to the small size of the coffee shop these is no accessible toilet. Space inside is relatively cramped however outside is more spacious. 

Apache Salute

Nour in Surry Hills is a vibrant, modern Middle Eastern restaurant that brings a fresh twist to traditional flavors in a stunningly designed space. The interior is warm and the elegant decor creates a chic and welcoming atmosphere. 

When it comes to accessibility, Nour is quite accommodating. It has big windows connecting the outside dinning tables with the inside. The tables outside are high tables with high chairs so it might be worth it to enter the venue.

The entrance has a step, however the venue owns a portable ramp that can be deployed and used when you arrive. 

The accessible entrance is right next door! Let the staff know you are coming and they will guide you to the right hand side of the main entry allowing easy access for those with mobility needs. Inside, the layout is mostly open, with ample space between tables to navigate comfortably. While Nour doesn't have dedicated accessible toilets, the staff is known to be helpful and attentive, and they’re always ready to assist with any special requests to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. For specific needs, it’s best to call ahead to confirm arrangements.

Buon Ricordo Italian Restaurant & Private Dining is located on a steep hill in Paddington, making access challenging, especially for those with mobility issues. Entry involves multiple staircases with no ramps or alternative access points, and nearby street parking is limited and often requires an uphill walk. The lack of designated drop-off zones and internal accessibility features like lifts or wide pathways adds to the difficulty, making the venue unsuitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.

Buon Ricordo Italian Restaurant & Private Dining

Central station is at the southern end of the Sydney CBD. It is the largest and busiest railway station in NSW and services almost all of the lines on the Sydney Trains network, and is the major terminus for NSW TrainLink services. It occupies a large city block separating Haymarket, Surry Hills, and the CBD, bounded by Railway Square and Pitt Street in the west, Eddy Avenue in the north, and Elizabeth Street in the east. It is spread over two levels. On the lower-level are the trains serving the Sydney network. The platforms are reached by a series of lifts.

On the upper level are the Country trains serving the wider NSW network, from the original Grand Concourse. The two levels are connected by a large lift. Very occasionally, if this is not operating, a member of station staff can escort you through a staff only route, between the two levels.

The taxi pickup and drop-off point is on the upper Grand Concourse level.

If replacement buses are running when there are line closures, these leave from Eddy Avenue, near the taxis.

There are accessible toilets on both levels. These are locked with an MLAK. If you don't have a key, ask an attendant or station staff.

Central Station

While the venue has a designated accessible toilet, it is often used for other purposes. However, if you notify them in advance, they can make arrangements to ensure accessibility for you.

Yes, you can find accessible parking about 200 meters away, in front of the park on the same footpath as the Surry Hills Library. There is enough space for one car, or possibly two small ones. The street is well connected to ramps, making Henrietta a fully accessible venue.

Hyde Park is a great city park that covers two blocks in the heart of the city.  It is only one block up from the main shopping area of the Pitt Street Mall and is a good spot to take some lunch and escape all the hustle and bustle.  The park is accessible and has good paths throughout for a wheelchair. Hyde Park offers step-free access from entrances on College Street and Elizabeth Street. The park is mostly of a gentle gradient, with some areas on a slight slope. There is a step running round the perimeter of every area of grass, which may mean they are inaccessible. There is a public toilet situated in the south-west corner of the park at Museum station. Accessible parking spots can be found in the carpark on Elizabeth Street.

Hyde Park

Sun Hot Bakery Café is a local spot located within the Kings Cross Centre. The shopping mall is easily accessible, with entrances on both sides and a ramp linking Darlinghurst Road to Bayswater Avenue. The café is situated on the fully accessible ground floor and features a low counter, making it simple to order their affordable and delicious Vietnamese dishes or grab a quick coffee while waiting for someone finishing their shopping.
 

There’s a small table near the counter if you’d like to sit and enjoy your meal. While the space around it can accommodate a wheelchair for a short time, the area can get a bit busy with foot traffic, though it’s still manageable.

For added convenience, public restrooms are located directly across from the café within the complex. If you need assistance or directions, the friendly and experienced owner is always happy to help and share local tips.

Sun Hot Bakery

Healthy Nuts, on the ground floor of the Kings Cross complex under the famous Coca-Cola sign, is a spacious and welcoming shop that’s perfect for grabbing a healthy snack or drink. The shop is easy to access from the street, with a flat, wide entrance that makes it simple for wheelchairs or mobility aids to get inside. Once you’re in, there are cozy couches that add a relaxed vibe, and they can be moved around if needed to make more space.

The counter where you order isn’t too high, so it’s easy to see everything they offer and place your order. If you need a hand, the staff are super friendly and happy to help. While the shop has two floors, the lower level can only be reached by stairs, so it might not work for everyone.

There aren’t any toilets inside the shop, but don’t worry—the Kings Cross complex has public restrooms that are wheelchair-friendly. Just head into the complex, follow the ramps to the end, and you’ll find the restrooms on the left side.

It’s a chill spot to enjoy some healthy treats, with staff who go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable!
