West Ryde - WRD STN LIFT 1 Conc to Ryedale Rd

Wire mill reserve is a beautiful waterfront pathway / park along Abbotsford Bay. There are few accessible entrances, due to many of the entrances / exits being up stairs or through the apartment blocks with hilly terrain. The main accessible entrance I located is along the path between Allison Park. This is a long walkway up and down hills however there is a constant paved path through this area and is still a pleasant walk.

Due to this distance there is little to no accessible parking or normal parking at all as the reserve is surrounded by buildings and the bay, parking to come to this park would mean parking somewhere closer to Campbell or Allison parks. Once in the park there are some benches however it’s mainly just a walking track along the bay.

Accessible street parking: 40 Bay Road, Russell Lea, New South Wales, 2046

There are no bathrooms, the closest one being at the Campbell Park clubhouse which is quite far away and difficult to access from this area.

Stadium Australia (ANZ Stadium or before that Telstra Stadium) is in the Sydney Olympic Park. As you would expect from a modern stadium, it has many purpose-built wheelchair spaces (with companion seats next to each one). Access is easy from the new train station; a smooth roll (albeit a slightly long 10 to 20 minute one; this can be a bit tiresome if you are seated on the far side). Crowds tend to be large so for some particular events, it can be a good idea to delay leaving the stadium.

Blackman Park at Lane Cove has lots to offer from bushwalking to basketball, playground to tennis courts. Best of all the park's equipment is easily accessible by a wide range of ages & abilities.  

The park features wide shared 1km pathway that circles the park for bikes, scooters, prams, runners & wheelchairs for easy rolling.  The flat & well-maintained path also gains access to the playground & purpose built equipment.  The fully fenced playground offers lots of play equipment including flying fox, table tennis & ping pong table, play structures for all ages, digger seesaw, bucket, classic & disc swings, 

There is a fenced off-leash dog park at the western end of Blackman Park along with a purpose-built agility area just for dogs, water tap & covered bench seating for spectators.  

The park has a 250 on-site parking spaces with free all-day parking.  There are covered picnic tables, BBQ grill, facilities, accesible toilets with ramp access.  

There is also a cricket pitch, 4 x cricket training nets, basketball court, fitness equipment area for all ages, sporting oval & skateboard ramp.   There are also indoor facilities  that can be hired from the 1st Lane Cove Scout Group and Lane Cove/ Longueville Guides Group.  The Lane Cove West Tennis Club is also located at the park & offers three tennis courts with night lights. 

There are also river foreshore bushwalks, the simplest most accessible friendly option is the paved walk to the river, which is just 100m.  There’s a further assortment of bushwalks, well signposted with the return distance for each walk including Blackman Park to The Boreen which is a 2.6km waterside bushland walk taking in rocky cliffs, bushland trees & river views.

Mindarie Park at Lane Cove is designed for people of all walks of life and different abilities, so everyone can play.  With more than 6,300 metres of open space it's a great place to let loose & have fun!

Located in a bushland setting the full fenced playground offers all-abilities, inclusive play equipment including a huge selction of swings, boat-shaped seesaw, music play area, variety of slides, ladders, climbing wall & sandpit area.  

There are 2 access gates, softfall flooring, water fountain, plenty of seating, shade sails & tree shade.  There is a cabana outside the playground with BBQ facilities along with accessible toilet with baby change.

Phase 2 of the park offers a full size basketball court which can also be used for other sports, multi-use platform/stage which can double up for seating, track for skateboards, bike track, wooden climbing area & over 65 year old exercise area.

The Greenwood Plaza branch offers step free entry via level path approach to large open plan entry. There is easy access to the food counter, with both takeaway & eat-in options with freestanding seating in the food court.

Livvi's Place Ryde is set in a beautiful Yamble reserve which is a huge park with vast smooth lawns.  The enormous fenced playground is an inclusive, all abilities playspace.

There is an immense range of play equipment including a long double flying fox, one of the seats has a full harness, a tunnel to play in and a large area covered with rubber softfall with handholds, excellent for people with mobility issues.  There is a climbing car, large sandpit, birds nest swing, spinning dish, musical play area, large rope pyramid roundabout and a lower roundabout too.

The park also offers a calming area with pole artworks  & animal sculptures .  Within the playground are bubblers, lots of picnic tables, BBQs, walking paths & cycle paths for easy rolling.  There is plenty of shade from trees & shade cloths, a large car park can be found off Quarry Road.  

A toilet block can be found just outside the playground with both child & adult change tables.
