Access to the station is via the lift.  Station access lift can be hard to locate from within the station to leave as there is no signage for it.
Platform access is via lift, strong signage, easy to find.
Train access is via portable ramp and raised platform.
Accessible toilet, wheelchair access, easy to find with strong signage, no key needed.  	
Accessible parking nearby, further parking at the multi-storeys 34-60 Little Collins Street & 410 Albert Street.



Parliament Station

Station access has ramps or flat though there are numerous stairs requiring detours to alternate access points.
Platform access, ramps to the platforms on the Elizabeth St end, lifts on the Swanston St end, but numerous stairs requiring detours to alternate access points.
Train access, portable ramp at driver end of the platform. Trains going via the city loop have the driver at the end of the platform with less room to manoeuvre.
Accessible toilet, wheelchair access, at Elizabeth St end & Swanston St.  Access Elizabeth St from Swanston St end by taking the lift to platform 2, travelling down the platform towards the Elizabeth St end, and down the ramp.
No key needed until last train.  After hours limited access via cleaners. 
Accessible parking csn be found at Southgate Underground.  



Flinders Street Railway Station

 The station access is via a ramp on both sides of station with ramp platform access: 
Train access: ramp available/tram same height as ground
No accessible toilet or parking nearby


South Melbourne Station/Light Rail (South Melbourne)

The station is accessible via a ramp along with the platform, tram access is flat
There is no accessible toilet onsite but one can be found at Caltex Albert Park, accessible parking nearby on the street 

Albert Park Station/Light Rail

Step free access to Bourke Street Mall. Pedestrianised area. Parking nearby Melbourne information desk located at Bourke Street mall. 

Trams accessible by wheelchair as raised pavement to meet trams.  
Accessible toilets can be found at Emporium on Lonsdale Street. 




Elizabeth St/Bourke St

Access ia via a ramp located to the left hand side of the front steps entrance, no door & is signposted.   	
Access within the state library is well signposted.
There is accessible cafe & shop onsite, along with a wheelchair accessible toilet which uses a typical cubicle handle and lock.
Accessible parking is located nearby.

Royal Exhibition Building is an accessible venue with step-free access, no ramps & has lifts.  
Lifts are available to other levels but some floors may not be accessible.  The areas are spacious.  
There are accesible toilets at 271 Spring Street, parking at Melbourne Museum & 50 Lonsdale Street.

Melbourne Museum

IMAX Melbourne is an accessible venue with  step free access to automatic doors & accessible signs. 
The venue provides wheelchairs.  There is an accessible cafe and shop. Areas arevery spacious and can fit wheelchairs easily.   There is accessible toilets onsite & accessible parking nearby.




IMAX Melbourne

We had a mixed experience when we visited the Melbourne Museum earlier this year.  I can only conditionally recommend it as an accessible venue, which is very disappointing.

There is very good disabled parking underneath the building, and the lift to travel to the museum is a reasonable size.

However, the lift within the museum is tiny and not appropriate for a large wheelchair - especially if a carer is needed to accompany the wheelchair user.

This means that a group cannot easily move through the museum together.

When we asked staff for another way to access the upper level, we were directed to a ramp that lead to a wet and cold outdoor garden.  We discovered an indoor ramp by ourselves later in our visit, so *thumbs down* for staff being helpful.

The disabled toilets that we found were ludicrously small.  I would not call them accessible.  There may have been other accessible toilets around but see the point about the unhelpful staff.  Additional accessible toilets can be found at Argyle Place

Finally, some spaces were set up so that it was very difficult to navigate the wheelchair - and we almost ran over a small child as a result!

It was a very disappointing outing.



Actual Melbourne Museum

The Ian Potter Centre is an accessible venue being the world's first major gallery dedicated exclusively to Australian art.
Step-free front on Russell St side, lift access from Federation Square, ramp access from f
Flinders St entrance to automatic door.  
Access is signposted.
There are venue wheelchairs to use, one motorised that can be brought in with notice.
No in-museum cafe but Atrium cafe is flat access & there is an accessible shop.   		
Accessible toilets available, wheelchair access on every level.  
Accessible parking nearby, paid yes, however slight distance across from Russell St and in Federation square.



The Ian Potter Centre

Red Stitch Actor's Theatre is an accessible venue with wide ramp to step free entry via manual double doors.  The venue was closed so the interior details are unknown.  
There is one accessible parking space in lot 20m from venue, one accessible parking space on street 50m from venue.

The Arts Centre is an accessible venue with straightforward entry. 
The doors are manual and there is enough signage about accessible entry. 
There is an elevator at each level.
Inside the main theatre there are designated wheelchair spaces.
There are accessible toilets at each level that are open to public (which is also well sign posted)
There is an accessible disabled car park on level 5.



Arts Centre Melbourne

The access is straightforward with manual doors.
There is signage about accessible entry.
There is also an elevator for each level. Level 3 gives you access to state theatre.
There is an accessible toilet at every level (which is well sign posted)
There is accessible (well sign posted) disabled car park at level 5.

State Theatre

The Fairfax Studio is an intimate theatre in a classic modern style, presenting contemporary and experimental productions.
The access is straightforward with manual doors.
There is signage about accessible entry. There is also an elevator for each level. Level 3 gives you access to fairfax studio.
There is an accessible toilet at every level (which is well sign posted)
There is accessible (well sign poster) disabled car park at level 5.

Fairfax Studio

The theatre is located on Collins Street in the City of Melbourne and the streets around the theatre are fairly steep.  If you are using a manual wheelchair it’s fairly hard work pushing yourself up to the theatre from the traffic light. If you are strong enough you will be fine but it’s still fairly challenging to get around on these streets in this area. No problem for power wheelchair users though.

 The theatre itself has a small step going into the building itself from Collins Street but there’s also a cut away area on the right side of the doors leading into the building from the street, so it’s step free access from the street. However, Collins Street is a fairly steep street to go along so it’s best to have a powered wheelchair to get around in the street unless you have someone else with you that can help you push your wheelchair up to the theatre otherwise if you have strong enough arms you could try doing it yourself but it’s directly opposite the Regent Theatre as well which is also steep to get around on too.

Once inside the theatre there’s a dedicated disabled bathroom to the side of the entrance and then to get access to the theatre itself there’s a slight slope going down to the seating areas and the best seats are available in the stalls area as the dress circle is only accessible via a flight of stairs which is the situation in most Melbourne theatres. The stalls area is accessible for everyone, and they can help you to your seat if you can transfer yourself and they’ll take your wheelchair back to the foyer until the intermission if there’s one during the show or they’ll bring it back to you at the end of the show.

The only downside of this theatre is that the building is located on a steep street which is Collins Street. You can be dropped off directly outside of the theatre and there’s parking available in the nearby streets but can’t remember if there’s any disabled parking available in the immediate area.

Accessible toilets can be found at St Collins Lane, City Library, Flinders St Station & Fed Square - External.

Athenaeum Theatre

Permanent long ramp for entry. 
Electric sliding door with sensor. Narrow entry. 
Side door entrance to the gym available with a long ramp also.  Paid car parking in the front.
Accessible toilet can be found at Albert Park Aquatic Drive & Coot Picnic Area



Victorian Institute of Sport

Disabled parking found to the left of the yacht club (if you I are facing the lake). 
Recommended path from parking is the lakeside park that is concrete rather than gravel. 
Automatic sliding door at the entrance of the yacht club for easy access. 
A lift is located just as you enter the building, that has accessibility to all levels in the building including the balcony. 
Disabled toilets are located to the left of the building 


Albert Park Yacht Club

Little Tim Tam is an inaccessible bar & resturant with an open doorway with step access, however there is outside seating with heater.  Accessible parking is available at the parking lots off Chapel St, 500m+ from entry
There is no accessible toilet onsite but one can be found Prahan Central & Market
