Carriageworks

Accessible entry. Outdoor seating available. Inside cramped, Plenty of street parking available with 1 or 2 disabled spots.on the street. Accessible toilet but a bit of an obstacle course to get to it. No signage advertising accessibility.

Darling Thai

This is a take away cakes pies and pork rolls shop. There are two steps at the entrance, though if you wish you can give a shout or the staff should notice you and take your order.

Terry's Hot Bread

The is a small cafe on Abercrombie St. It has a level entrance with an extra wide doorway and also outdoor seating. The staff are friendly, There are no accessible toilets.

Percentage Patisserie

The shopping center has two entrances, one on Mitchell Rd and the other on Foundry St. Both entrances are ramps connected to the sidewalk, ensuring easy access for all visitors.

Inside the shopping center, there are no steps, and all stores are similarly step-free. The center is equipped with wheelchair-accessible restrooms and an elevator providing direct access to the underground parking lot. The parking area includes designated disabled parking spaces, making the venue highly accommodating and friendly for disabled individuals and wheelchair users.

Park Sydney Village

La Cachette Cafe offers a vibrant dining experience, highlighted by a spacious outdoor seating area on the sidewalk, complete with plenty of movable tables and chairs for guests.

The café’s sole entrance has a very high step, making it challenging for wheelchair users and individuals with mobility difficulties to access the indoor dining space. Inside, the seating area is spacious, with movable tables and chairs for added flexibility. While the café has a restroom, it is accessible only through a narrow passage and is not designed for disabled users, making it less wheelchair-friendly. Nearby Maddox St provides street parking, but there are no designated disabled parking spaces available.

La Cachette Cafe

Fullmoon Thai Erskineville

Double Barrel Coffee + Food House in Newtown is a charming café offering a welcoming space for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike.

The café's main entrance and interior are step-free, providing excellent accessibility for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. There is a small outdoor seating area, while the spacious interior features movable tables and chairs, ensuring flexibility and comfort. However, the restroom is located outside the café and requires crossing a high step to access, with a compact space that may not be suitable for disabled guests. Nearby Forbes St offers plenty of parking spaces, though none are designated for disabled users.

Double Barrel Coffee + Food house Newtown

This is a spacious and lovely french restaurant.  The owner was extremely friendly and chatty and proud how accessible he had made his restaurant, including an accessibility toilet. There are large doors at the entrance and sufficient space around the tables.

La Grillade restaurant 

Step-free fully wheelchair accessible entrance, inside has ample space to move, there is also outdoor seating. Space between tables is a little tight but the staff are friendly and helpful and will move tables/chairs if needed.

I have only had coffee  and a bacon and egg roll here so far, which was delicious. 

Great place to sit an watch the world 🌎 go by, catch up with friends and loved ones or grab a quick coffee to go.

Accessible toilets can be found around 1km away at Central Train Station on Eddy Street, accessible parking can be found at Holt Street.

Blue Brew Cafe

The café is located beneath an apartment building, alongside the sidewalk. Outside the café, numerous movable tables and chairs create a spacious outdoor dining area for guests. The main entrance is step-free, allowing easy access for all visitors. However, a small side entrance on the right features a single low step, which may require extra caution for those with mobility challenges.

Inside, the café offers a large and open space with plenty of movable tables and chairs to accommodate various seating preferences. The restroom, while available, is not designed for wheelchair access and may be difficult to use for individuals with limited mobility due to its limited space. Temporary roadside parking spaces are available nearby, but there are no designated disabled parking spots in the vicinity.

Foodcraft Espresso

Cafe Yolk is a vibrant café offering a delightful dining experience. Located slightly above the sidewalk, it can be accessed via stairs, but a convenient ramp on the right side ensures wheelchair access, and the main entrance is step-free for easy entry. The café boasts a spacious outdoor seating area with movable tables, along with a generous indoor dining space. It also features a fully accessible restroom for disabled guests. While parking is plentiful nearby, there are no designated disabled parking spaces.

Wheelchair accessible entrance doors is always open so no need to.wrestle.with it, entry is street level with slight incline. 

Fat Franks Newtown

CLEM'S is a beloved family-owned eatery, known for its freshly prepared chicken dishes and hearty meals made with traditional recipes.

The main entrance features a small ramp, making it accessible for disabled or wheelchair users, while the side entrance has a single step that requires caution. Although the restaurant has no outdoor seating, the cozy indoor space is compact, with fixed high-bar tables that may not suit all guests. There is no accessible restroom available, and while Brown St nearby offers plenty of parking spaces, there are no designated disabled parking spots.

Thirsty Bird is a step free accessible chicken place with generous servings of food and spacious indoor seating area. wih the tables & chairs not fixed to the floor.

The Rising Sun Workshop caters for people with accessibility needs. They provide a ramp to the main foyer and has ample seatings inside. There is also a large accessibility bathroom located inside. Located off the main road, so parking is available.

Broaster Chicken Newtown ( American Style Fried Chicken)

It's Time for Thai

This place has a pretty groovy and chilled atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful. 

There's a level front entrance, with a standard doorway. Wide space between tables and bar, easy to get through to back area and to the toilets, as long as bar isn't 5 deep. 

There's a mixture of high tables and stools and low tables and sofas. The back area opens up into a fairly wide space. 

The toilet is semi-accessible - it has no rails and is not marked as accessible (it's the one marked for women). There's a small lip to get into toilet, so you need to pop a wheely if you're in a manual chair. A powered chair should have no problem (see the photo). If you need rails to transfer you will have to bring a friend or carer in to assist.

The café does not have an outdoor dining area, and accessibility is limited due to two very high steps at the entrance, posing significant challenges for wheelchair users and those with mobility difficulties. Inside, the space is compact, featuring high bar-style seating that may not be suitable for all guests. Susho Wow is an inaccessible venue not suited for people in wheelchairs due to ledge to enter.  There are high seats/table inside with a conveyor belt. There is okay room inside but cramped if there are a lot of people, seats are not fixed.   Accessible parking can be found closeby at 2 Lennox Street.  Accessible toilets can be found at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park & Newtown Train Station.  

Sushi Wow

Into Laksa is a four chain Malaysian Laksa restaurant located in Sydney.

The Waterloo branch features step free entry via paved level pathway approach to glass entry door.  Inside is bright & spacious with floor to ceiling windows, low & high bench tables with stools, access to the counter & covered outdoor street dining.

Access to the Sultan Palace is via a ramp to  manual door, not signposted.

Spanish Tapas

Spanish Tapas is a stunning Mediterranean-style restaurant located in the heart of Glebe, right next to the University and Victoria Park, with Broadway Shopping Centre just a few meters down the street. This Spanish tapas bar has been serving authentic Spanish cuisine since 1997, offering an immersive experience with homemade recipes and vibrant, flamboyant Spanish decor.

The venue is spacious, with a dining area that accommodates mobility devices, ensuring everyone can enjoy a genuine Spanish experience.

The main entrance is accessible via a ramp, allowing easy entry for all guests. After entering the venue, you’ll find easy seating options to the right, or you can venture further in to enjoy a Spanish football-themed decor
 

Restrooms are located at the end of the venue. The ladies’ restroom includes ambulant features and is accessible via ramped pathways. While the door to the accessible restroom may require manual assistance, it is manageable, just a heads-up: there are no handrails in the toilets. The men’s restroom is a bit further, up a small step.

For a true Spanish experience, visit on Mondays for half-priced tapas or on weekends, when they have live flamenco shows during dinner.

Blossoming Lotus is a semi-accessible vegan cafe with small ledge to enter premise with a narrow door. Inside is spacious with lots of room in between tables for a wheelchair to fit around.  Accessible toilet can be found at Newtown Train Stations, parking at 2 Lennox Street & 94 Erskineville Road

The Dispensary 1908 is an accessible coffee, breakfast & lunch house with step-free front & no door.  The venue has a lovely history originally designed as a private residence back in 1896, 33 Glebe Point Road functioned as the Sydney United Friendly Society Dispensary from January 1909.  Patients would bring in their own bottles and jars and purchase ointments, leeches, cod liver oil, lime water, camel hair brushes, poppy heads and chamomile flowers.
A wheelchair can fit around the tables & not fixed seating with assistance.
There is outside seating, but no toilet.  Accessible toilets can be found The Broadway Shopping Centre ground & lower ground floor
along with multi-storey accessible parking, general street parking is available


Dispensary 1908

Access to the shop on the roadside with a ledge separating the road and footpath, but it is possible to access the shop from the corner of Francis Street and Glebe Point road where there is a slope in the road to make it level with the footpath.  Entry doors is manual.

There is outside seating, but its limited.

Ciccone & Sons

Mr Wu is an accessible dumpling ar with a lift less than 100 metres from the restaurant to lower ground. There is a ramp to access the lift from lower ground. Closest parking is on level 2 and accessible by ramp, but is a few hundred metres away from the restaurant.		
There are no entry doors with the restaurant being inside the food court. Accessible levels marked near lifts in shopping centre but no signs directing to the restaurant.		
Wheelchair fits with assistance around the tables & no outside seating.	
Accessible toilet is available in the shopping centre on the same level, shared with the other  food court venues.
Accessible parking is nearby on the level 2 car park with ramp access to the food court

The Lillipad Cafe Sydney

Centrally located in Surry Hills, Belvoir is one of Australia’s most distinguished and beloved theatre companies. Belvoir St Theatre are able to accommodate patrons in wheelchairs and their guests. They encourage patrons with accessibility needs to contact the box office with any requests.

There is a lift access to all levels and an accessible toilet in their foyer. There is one accessible parking spot directly outside the theatre. Unfortunately, patrons are unable to book this parking spot with the council. However, there are some unlimited parking available directly opposite the theatre after 6pm and in some surrounding streets. Belvoir is using a new Hearing Assistance Service (HAS) should you require hearing enhancement. The new HAS system caters for those with or without hearing aids and can be used anywhere throughout the theatre. Two Peck Crispy Chicken is an established Taiwanese brand known for its authentic Taiwanese crispy chicken. This branch is located in The Finery, Waterloo.

The restaurant specializes in Asian-fusion cuisine, with a focus on Taiwanese fried chicken offering step free entry via paved level pathway approach to glass entry door & easy access to the counter. The restaurant is open for lunch & dinner, offers both indoor & outdoor seating, eat in & takeaway options.

Accessible parking can be found closeby at Crown Square Plaza, accessible toilets at Joynton Park.

areas easy to get to.
Terrain best option is concrete & grass with no inclines. 
There is an accessible picnic area, no cafe but accessible shops nearby.

Minogue Reserve

Baja Cantina is an accessible California-style Mexican with step free access to the venue & manual door.  
Inside is cramped but a wheelchair can fit between tables with moveable chairs.  
There is limited outside seating out the front but also a beer garden at the rear.  
There is no accessible toilet onsite but ones can be found at ground & lower ground floors along with parking.  Street parking can also be found nearby.
