Potts Point Hotel  is a welcoming choice for an inclusive night out in Sydney’s vibrant Kings Cross area. The venue is fully accessible, with a lift connecting all levels for convenient movement throughout. The only inconvenient is that entry for mobility devices is at the back of the building. Let management know that you are coming so they can prepare and assist you on arrival.

The alfresco area is fully accessible from the front door if you are coming from Darlinghurst Road and it provides a pleasant experience, allowing guests to place orders directly from their table. If needed, management is also available to assist with ordering and table service.

The accessible entrance is located at the back of the venue. Guests can enter the lift via Earl Place, where there's easy drop-off access through the loading dock. The lift connects to all levels, and accessible restrooms are situated near the lift on the ground floor, offering direct access. You can freely roam around and use the lift to go to the restroom if you have ordered too much water from the bar.

Potts Point Hotel

The Glider is right on Victoria Street in Potts Point, just a hop away from Kings Cross Station, making it super easy to get to with the adapted roads. The café has a lovely outdoor area that's perfect for chilling out. You’ll find a few tables right on the main street, so you can sit there without worrying about blocking anyone’s path. The outdoor space has a faux garden floor and a driveway kerb ramp that makes it easy to access the cosy little terrace.

Inside, there’s a noticeable step up to the main café area, so you might have trouble getting in with a mobility device. But don’t sweat it! You can always ask for table service on the terrace, and the friendly staff will be more than happy to help you out.

They don’t have toilets at the café, but no worries, Kings Cross Station is just a few meters away, and it has fully accessible restrooms that are easy to navigate.

Glider Cafe

Sonora in Potts Point offers a welcoming and lively Mexican dining experience, where friendly service complements an innovative menu. Sonora features curated tasting menus, including a chef’s “Feed Me” option on Wednesdays and a decadent brunch with tacos and margaritas on the weekends.

Sonora is fully accessible, accommodating both wide and smaller devices. The main entry is at the corner of the street, accessible through their ample door threshold. Despite being a small, charming venue, the tables are spaced apart, providing enough room both inside and outside, in the terrace. The friendly staff will be happy to guide you to an appropriate space in the dining area.

Toilets are located on the right-hand side of the venue, and you won't get lost on the way to the restrooms. There are two restrooms, both equipped with handrails and enough space to maneuver a device.

Sonora Potts Point

Konger Café in Potts Point is a vibrant, Southeast Asian-inspired café that brings a burst of flavor and culture to the area. With its brunch options and Southeast Asian-inspired dishes, it’s a delightful destination for anyone looking to explore bold flavors in a cozy and accessible setting.
 

Konger Café is located on the ground floor of Victoria Towers on Victoria Street, a quiet street with sunny, inviting areas like the outdoor reception space of Victoria Towers. A cement ramp serves as a loading zone and provides easy access from the footpath and main road.


There’s seating available in a spacious open area out front, as well as a few seats inside, all on level ground with no steps. It’s a small, cozy cafe, so seating is limited. Unfortunately, there’s no accessible restroom on the premises.

Customer toilets are located in the building next door, but access requires navigating steps in the corridor. Alternatively, public restrooms are available at Kings Cross Station.

KONGER POTTS POINT

Right next to Tuyo Cafe in Potts Point is Melted Monster which is a quirky yet inviting cafe that specialises in all-day breakfast, good coffee and the ultimate comfort foods. The staff are very friendly and thoughtful. The atmosphere is casual and fun, making it a great spot for food lovers looking to satisfy their cravings.

The interior is bright and colorful, featuring playful decor that enhances the relaxed vibe. It’s designed to be a cozy place where guests can enjoy a leisurely meal with friends or family. However, there is a big step at entry level that might hinder its access. The cafe is located at street level and it provides a terrace area on the other edge of the curb. The space between tables isn’t/t generous but sufficient to enjoy a coffee break or lunch.
 

There is unfortunately no accessible toilet on the premise. But Kings Cross Station only a few minutes away, offers free public toilets, accessible to all.

Melted Monster

Tuyo Cafe in Potts Point is a charming spot known for its relaxed vibe and inviting atmosphere. Everyday of the week you see locals saying G’day to each other in this cozy casual café . The café features a cozy interior with a blend of rustic and modern decor, creating a warm and welcoming environment. the café is known by its newspapers readers and people enjoying a book or a caffeinated catch up with friends.


Its main seating area is outdoors on level ground which is perfect for those with mobility devices.  The café outdoors area is located on the curb so quite easy access if you are having a morning walk. Please be advised that to access the counter inside there is a high step up and no ramp but all seating and tables are outside. There is unfortunately no accessible toilet on the premise. The closest toilets are located in Kings Cross Station.

Tuyo Potts Point

The café is elevated above the sidewalk and accessible via stairs, but a convenient ramp on the left side ensures wheelchair and disabled access. It features a spacious outdoor seating area and a step-free entry to the indoor dining space, which is equipped with plenty of movable tables and chairs. Additionally, the café includes a fully accessible restroom for disabled guests. The restroom is located inside the hotel next door, ask reception and they will lead you towards the right until the end of the corridor, where accessible toilets can be found. While there are numerous temporary street parking spaces nearby, there are no designated disabled parking spots.

Shuk Elizabeth Bay

Franca in Potts Point is a chic restaurant that mixes the charm of a French brasserie with modern Mediterranean vibes. The place has a fun and lively atmosphere, making it great for both casual meals and special occasions. Their menu is filled with tasty French dishes, and they offer an awesome selection of wines and sparkling drinks from France.

You can find Franca on Macleay Street, right next to other great restaurants and bars, making it a perfect spot for a meal or grabbing a drink with friends on the weekends. It's slightly elevated from the street level, so to enter the venue, you'll need to locate the ramp that leads to the complex. After passing the restaurant Parlar, you’ll see Franca at the end of the hallway.

The doors are wide open, and the entrance is flat, making it wheelchair friendly. There are tables on both sides, and the staff is always happy to help you find a spot. If you wanted to seat outside in its terrace while watching pedestrians on Macleay street, you can stay in the outdoor area.

As for the restrooms, they’re not specially designed for accessibility. The doors are wide, they open manually, and the space inside can be a bit cramped.

Franca

Darlo Bar in Sydney is a laid-back, retro pub in Darlinghurst with a fun, relaxed vibe. It’s a local favorite with a quirky, vintage interior that gives off a cool, eclectic feel.

The bar mixes in some modern touches with its Victorian-style décor, and there’s plenty of space, plus a pool table right in the middle. It’s super accessible too—everything connects smoothly to the footpath, with a wide entrance and spacious walkways throughout. Inside feels open and welcoming, great for catching up with friends, and they’ve got a mix of low and high tables to suit your style.

If you’re up for more, Darlo Bar has a chairlift to help you get upstairs to the rooftop, or you can stay downstairs and chill out in one of the cosy, social areas.

Darlo Bar

La Bomba Cafe and Restaurant is a Spanish Inspired cafe, right into the bustling heart of Potts Point. It is a quaint cafe with its Mediterranean essence, that invites locals to soak up the morning sun in a charming breakfast atmosphere in their bright terrace. It has a strong community vibe and features a diverse range of breakfast and lunch options.  The inside is not accessible, however most people decide to seat outside as their preference.


The cafe aims to be accessible and welcoming to all guests with a large open and outdoor seating section which is perfect for the warmer months. The outdoors area is perfect for mobility devices. However, please be advised that to access the main part of the cafe there is a step up and no ramp.


There is unfortunately no accessible toilet on the premise.

La Bomba Cafe & Restaurant Potts Point

Artspace Visual Arts Centre is an universally accessible space dedicated to the production and presentation of contemporary art in a critical context.  

 Situated on the waterfront between the escarpment of Potts Point and the Domain Hill.  The entrance to Artspace is easily accessible for wheelchairs, prams and buggies. There is lift access from the ground floor to the first and second floors in The Gunnery building.

Pedestrian access from the Art Gallery of New South Wales to Artspace is via public stairs next to the Ausgrid substation on Lincoln Crescent. Disabled access is via steep gradient behind the Art Gallery of New South Wales onto a pedestrian bridge to a lift on Bourke Street. If you wish to avoid steps, they recommend you come by car, taxi or bus.

Artspace has accessible restrooms in each floor that are easy to reach. At the back of the furthest art room on the ground floor you can find wide accessible toilets. In the first floor, after the lift you turn left and after the corridor you can find accessible toilets. Signs are provided.

Artspace is closed on Mondays and on the following public holidays: Easter Friday, Easter Monday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.

Admission to exhibitions and public programs is always free.

There is limited metered parking available at the entrance to Artspace on Cowper Wharf Road and at the rear of the building on Bland Street. The publicly accessible Domain Car Park is approximately a 10 minute walk from Artspace.

Artspace

Little Bishop Espresso Bar is a cozy café, perfect for a quick coffee or light snack in a relaxed setting.

The outdoor seating area is located on the sidewalk, offering a few tables and chairs for guests. However, the entrance features several high steps, making it challenging for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility to access the indoor space. The café does not have a dedicated accessible restroom. While there are plenty of street parking options nearby, a few designated disabled parking spaces are conveniently located directly across the street.

The Gallery presents fine international and Australian art in one of the most beautiful art museums in the world. It displays modern and contemporary works in expansive, light-filled spaces. It is largely accessible to wheelchair users. There is a dramatic semicircular ramp to the right of the front stone steps providing access into the building and there are ramps inside providing access to the various exhibits. Lifts provide access to the various floors and down to the gallery cafe and gift shop. Most tables in Chiswick, the gallery restaurant, are also accessible. There are also unisex toilets on site. Parts of the research library and archive are not accessible. There are two disabled parking spaces at front of the Gallery, two at rear.

Art Gallery Of New South Wales

Located on the ground floor of the gallery, Chiswick is an accessible restaurant. Entry to the gallery is partially accessible. You can't get to some of the tables.  However, there is still plenty of accessible seating and also an accessible unisex toilet. Outside tables are not available.

The Domain is the venue for large-scale events such as Opera in the Park during the Festival of Sydney in January and Carols by Candlelight in December each year.
The main part of the parkland takes in the peninsula on the eastern flank of the Royal Botanic Gardens, just next to Mrs Macquarie's Point.Domain is an accessible park on St Marys Road. There is step-free access into and around the park, which has a varying gradient throughout. There are accessible toilets but the cubicles are very small and barely provide enough room for a wheelchair. There are no restaurants or cafes nearby but when you enter the Botanic Garden you will find some indoor and outdoor venues. Picnic areas can be found on site.

The Domain

The Pavilion is an accessible fine dining restaurant located in the corner of Domain park on Art Gallery Road. Step-free access is available upon entry and throughout the venue, which has plenty of accessible seating both inside and outside. There is an accessible toilet on site.

The Pavilion Restaurant

The Australian Museum offers permanent galleries including the popular Dinosaurs exhibit, temporary and touring exhibitions; and has a collection of more than 18 million objects spanning culture and natural history.

The Australian Museum is fully accessible to visitors using wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The main entrance features a ramp with no steps, ensuring easy access for disabled individuals and wheelchair users. Inside, two elevators connect all floors, allowing seamless navigation throughout the building. While most exhibition areas are step-free, the Westpac Long Gallery on the G floor includes some steps. The UG level houses a dining area that can also be accessed via a ramp or elevator. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available on every floor, enhancing convenience for visitors. Although the museum does not have a dedicated parking lot, the nearest parking is located at 70 Riley St, Darlinghurst. 

Australian Museum

Bodhi is accessible for wheelchair users. A ramp provides step-free access from in front of St Mary’s Cathedral on College Street down to the venue. Some of Bodhi’s indoor and outdoor seating is inaccessible for wheelchair users, but the venue does have an accessible toilet.
The closest accessible toilets can be found in the Ensacon carpark on 2 Cathedral Street.

Bodhi Restaurant

Sydney Botanical Gardens - Information Booth is accessible; located just inside the Art Gallery Road entrance. The manned booth has leaflets and maps on helping you to navigate a step-free path through the gardens.

Growing Friend's Nursery

Palm House is an accessible indoor venue located in the Botanic Gardens. It was erected in 1876 and is the oldest glasshouse in New South Wales. Sheltered from the weather and full of natural light, the Palm House is ideal for exhibitions, garden weddings or corporate launches.
Palm House offers step-free access into and throughout the venue. There are no accessible toilets on site but you can find accessible toilets within the Botanic Garden. Cafes and restaurants are also situated in the Botanic Garden.

Palm House

Hyde Park is a great city park that covers two blocks in the heart of the city.  It is only one block up from the main shopping area of the Pitt Street Mall and is a good spot to take some lunch and escape all the hustle and bustle.  The park is accessible and has good paths throughout for a wheelchair. Hyde Park offers step-free access from entrances on College Street and Elizabeth Street. The park is mostly of a gentle gradient, with some areas on a slight slope. There is a step running round the perimeter of every area of grass, which may mean they are inaccessible. There is a public toilet situated in the south-west corner of the park at Museum station. Accessible parking spots can be found in the carpark on Elizabeth Street.

Hyde Park

Poolside Cafe is located at the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool on Mrs Macquaries Road on the fringe of the Royal Botanic Gardens. Watch the lapping swimmers from behind the café’s floor to ceiling glass windows or the open-air terrace. There is a disabled parking spot available adjacent to the pool staff parking area for easy level entry into the venue. Accessible toilets are located on the lower pool level and can be accessed via lift.

Poolside Cafe (Andrew Boy Charlton Pool)

Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Surry Hills, Tento offers an exclusive Japanese dining experience, featuring meticulously handmade, exotic dishes that are truly one of a kind. This charming café is perfect for casual lunchs or lively morning coffee gatherings.

Tento is tucked away in a hidden spot at 3/8 Hill Street, Surry Hills. To access the venue, you’ll need to ascend a few steps, but the good news is that a lift chair is available for assistance. Please call the venue in advance to ensure they can accommodate your arrival, as the lift chair is the only way to access the restaurant. Once you’ve used the lift chair, the pathway to the venue is flat.

The café offers a spacious outdoor seating area in front of the main kiosk and counter, as well as an indoor dining space. The indoor area is easily accessible, with a wide and open threshold, allowing you to choose between the terrace and the indoors. The friendly staff are always ready to assist and ensure a comfortable experience at Tento.

If arriving by car, accessible street parking is available:

407 South Dowling Street (Westside): Between Flinders Street and Hannam Street, a 5-10 minute stroll to the venue.

Campbell Street (Southside): North of Little Bourke Street, featuring a parallel parking space (3.2m wide by 7.8m long, 4P Mobility Parking Only, 8am-10pm).

While drop-offs in front of the café might be slightly tricky, they are still manageable. Tento’s commitment to accessibility and its welcoming ambiance make it a must-visit spot in Surry Hills.

TenTo

Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool is accessible to wheelchair users. There is step-free access into the venue, to the changing rooms and to the cafe. The walkway to the entrance has a shallow incline to the reception area. The walkway is wide and accessible for wheelchair users and those using mobility aids. 

There are handrails on either side of the walkway and the floor is studded to prevent falls or slips. There is also one unisex family room and an accessible change room and bathroom facility at the centre. There is a 30cm blocked lip on the edge of the pool. You can find an inclined ramp at the shallow end of the pool for ease of accessibility for those that may find the 30cm blocked lip limits their access.

If required there is a mobility ladder and accessibility hoist situated in the shallow end of the 50-metre lap swimming pool. Please notify staff if you require assistance in accessing the pool with the aid of the hoist.

There is also a designated accessible parking space adjacent to the entrance and there is street parking available along Mrs Macquarie’s Road next to the centre.

The Calyx is an accessible exhibit located in the Botanic Gardens. The venue was built around the site of the Arc Glasshouse, in the south western corner of the garden. Intelligent, sensitive architecture has replaced the Tropical Centre pyramid and foyer.
The Calyx is an integrated mix of indoor and outdoor areas, with the exhibitions changing on a regular basis, reinventing itself through emotively themed exhibitions. There is step-free access into and throughout the building. There is a small cafe located in The Calyx, but there are no accessible toilets. Accessible parking bays are provided near the Woolloomooloo Gate and outside the Art Gallery of NSW.

The Calyx

Nestled in the middle of Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens, this is an accessible restaurant serving modern Australian cuisine. There is a cafe on the lower level with outdoor seating, which is separate from this restaurant above. The venue itself doesn’t have accessible toilets, put accessible toilets are located opposite the restaurant front door, only 5 meters away.

The Botanic Gardens Café is set within lush garden surrounds and overhanging trees, overlooking the duck pond.

The café offers fresh light meals including gourmet sandwiches, salads, baked goods and great coffee.

Plenty of outdoor seating set in beautiful surrounding gardens. Also quite a lot of accessible indoor seating if it's bad weather.

Botanic Gardens Cafe

The Library Bar is an entertaining place, full of joy, that makes you feel like part of the scene and conjures a sense of friendship in an accessible atmosphere. You enter through Shakespeare Place, into a very wide open space with a corridor that feels like stepping into a fairytale. The entrances are flat, and after passing through the corridor, you’ll find a lift to the left that takes you directly upstairs. This leads to the main entrance, with open thresholds and a smooth, flat surface.

The venue itself is wide and spacious, making it easy to navigate. At the bar, the counter is a little high, but the good part is that they offer table service. You can simply scan the QR code from your table, and they’ll bring the drinks or food directly to you.

If you’d like to freshen up or check your makeup, the accessible toilets are located in the open terrace area, just past the bar. They are spacious, fitted with manual doors, and include a handrail on the left-hand side.

For those who want to go even higher, you can take the inner lift to the upper level of the bar, where you’ll feel closer to the sky — and, if you’re lucky, even spot a shooting star.

St James is accessible to wheelchair users. Step-free access is gained via a lift from the Elizabeth Street entrance at the edge of Hyde Park. There are lifts and gentle ramps to take wheelchair users to the platforms. A portable boarding ramp onto the train is available and there is also an accessible unisex toilet in the station.

The Organic Bread Bar in Darlinghurst is a vibrant and inviting take away bakery known for its delicious organic breads and baked goods. The space features a lovely open layout, making it feel welcoming to smell the delicious fresh baked goods.
 

Accessibility is a priority here, as the bakery has a wide open area that caters to people with disabilities and mobility devices. There’s an embedded ramp connecting the footpath to the bakery, ensuring easy access to the counter, which is at a slightly higher level. Despite the height of the counter, ordering is hassle-free, and the friendly staff are always ready to help you.

The bakery has limited space, and while you can see the bakers working on your fresh goods inside, the outdoor area where the bread is displayed and where customers place takeaway orders only allows for ordering and taking away their incredible local products. Public toilets are not provided or available.

Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

The State Library of New South Wales is a historic and iconic cultural institution in Sydney. It houses an extensive collection of books, manuscripts, and exhibits, offering a space for learning and exploration. The library is also a hub for research, events, and community engagement.

While the main entrance features several steps, a dedicated ramp on the right-hand side provides a wheelchair-friendly path to an elevator for entry. Inside, two elevators allow disabled and wheelchair users to access all floors, with no steps in any exhibition areas. Each level includes a disabled-access restroom, ensuring comfort and convenience. Although the library does not have its own parking, the nearest parking facility is located at Sydney Hospital. Overall, the library is highly accommodating for visitors with disabilities.

State Library of New South Wales

Martin Place Station is accessible to wheelchair users. Step-free access is gained via a lift between Phillip Street and Macquarie Street - not all entrances are step-free. There are lifts down to the platform and a portable boarding ramp onto the train. 

The new reforms in Martin Place station have modified and improved the accessibility of the site. There are two loft access in the aforementioned streets and the station is gully navigable with help centers, toilets in all floors and lifts connecting all parts of the street- concours- platforms

Portobello Caffe

St. Georges is an accessible open-air cinema located in the Botanic Gardens. The cinema runs for a few months every summer and then packs away for the rest of the year. Wheelchair access is available to the front row of the grandstand, the restaurant and bar, and there are toilet facilities. Please book your tickets as usual through Ticketmaster, on 136 100 or at the website. Once you have made your booking, please email them for assistance on the night. There is no wheelchair access to the corporate deck, and prams are not permitted in the grandstand. 
Designated bays are provided near The Royal Botanic Garden Woolloomooloo Gate and outside the Art Gallery of NSW.

Located next to the Macquarie Street entry to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Piccolo Me is an accessible outdoor cafe. Only accessible via the north side and the Gardens, the venue generously spaced outdoor seating. There is no toilet on site.

The opera is surrounded by cafes, bistros and restaurants where you can eat before the opera begins. There are approximately 200 metered parking spaces on Mrs Macquaries Road, although this is likely to be a highly congested area post the event. Alternative metered parking is available on Hospital Road and Macquarie Street, which are also within rolling distance of the venue. The Domain Car Park is the closest undercover car park available.

Collect the Visitors Guide which shows the location of the lift, toilet and AGL Theatre. The MOS Café is located on site and seating spills out onto the Forecourt. The MOS Shop is adjacent to the entry reception area. There is no onsite parking or drop off area. The nearest commercial car spaces are expensive alternatives, include the Governor Phillip Tower basement car park (next door), The Intercontinental Hotel (across the road) or The Opera House car park.

Museum Of Sydney

InterContinental is accessible to wheelchair users via its Macquarie Street entrance. There are lifts to every floor in the building. The hotel has 3 rooms with roll-in showers, but you will need to specifically ask for one when making your booking. There are plenty of accessible shops, Cafés and restaurants nearby. Designated parking spots can be found in the hotel carpark.

Intercontinental

The Clock in Surry Hills is a classic Aussie pub with a big, welcoming vibe right in the heart of Surry Hills, on a bustling road that comes alive on weekend evenings. With plenty of space to move around, getting in and out is a breeze, thanks to the chair lift at the entrance and an internal lift that reaches every level. The Clock is fully accessible, making it easy to enjoy your time here without any worries. The friendly staff, quick ordering, and helpful security team ensure that everyone feels at ease.

Inside, the spacious layout keeps things comfortable, and for those who need accessible facilities, there’s a dedicated toilet on the courtyard level that’s easy to reach on the lower floor right next to the lifts.  The ground level is where most events are run and where you can easily stroll around and be part of the interactive games and shows. On the mid level, there is a whiskey bar with an open space, very cost and accessible by the lift. On the top level, you can easily move around hallways and decide where to sit, if inside or in the balcony. Bear in mind that the balcony presents a small step and that is quite narrow for a wheelchair.

Accessible parking spaces are available across the road from Bay Street inside the Cosmopolitan Shopping Centre.

Henrietta in Surry Hills, Sydney, is a vibrant charcoal chicken restaurant known for its delicious Middle Eastern-inspired flavors and welcoming atmosphere. Located on Crown Street, it offers a lively dining experience with both indoor and outdoor seating options.

While the venue has a designated accessible toilet, it is often used for other purposes. However, if you notify them in advance, they can make arrangements to ensure accessibility for you.

Yes, you can find accessible parking about 200 meters away, in front of the park on the same footpath as the Surry Hills Library. There is enough space for one car, or possibly two small ones. The street is well connected to ramps, making Henrietta a fully accessible venue.
