Stirling Leisure Swimming Pool at Scarborough Beach is an iconic landmark situated in the heart of Scarborough. 

The main lap pool is heated year round to 27°C

It consists of eight 50m lanes and four 25m lanes

Multiple configuration options are available to cater for a wide variety of pool-goers, with depths ranging from 1.2m to 2.2.m

The facility also has a separate leisure pool, for more leisurely swims and swimming lessons

There are accessible changing rooms and pool wheelchairs can be provided by asking at reception, who can also arrange storage of your own wheelchair.

There is nearby disabled parking and the pool itself is accessible by lift from the main esplanade.

With a 200 seat grandstand and spacious open air seating areas, the pool is without a doubt the place to be

On hot summer days you can relax on the sun lounges (with optional shaded areas) and cool winter days you can still enjoy a dip thanks to the year-round geothermal heating.

“To book the beach wheelchair please ensure you read the Beach Wheelchair safety use and instructions below before making a free booking.

The beach wheelchair is stored in a cabinet on the Scarborough Beach foreshore - lower level. To access the beach wheelchair, a free booking must be made. Please ensure you read the Beach Wheelchair safety use and instructions prior to booking.

The beach wheelchair cabinet is accessed using a Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK). As part of your hire of the beach wheelchair, you are welcome to store your existing wheelchair in the lockable cabinet while you use the beach wheelchair.

If you are a Companion Card holder, you can receive a free key from the National Disability Services (NDS).

If you do not have your own key, you can access one from the Scarborough Beach Pool Reception during business hours.

People with a disability are able to purchase an MLAK key that will open all doors, toilets, playground equipment, and other facilities fitted with a lock that uses the special MLAK cylinder. For further information, visit the Master Locksmiths website.”

The beach wheelchair cabinet can be found at the bottom of the stairs at Scarborough Esplanade, or alternatively at the bottom of the Amphitheatre steps and to the left. Location shown on the map. To access the cabinet by car you can drive from the Brighton Road car parks, via the C-Breeze Kiosk carpark, northern end, and then drive across the boardwalk into the restricted area and you will find a restricted accessible disabled parking bay that you can use with your booking.

The sand at Scarborough is quite fine and soft, however, the beach is less steep at the amphitheatre end nearest to the beach wheelchair, and the sand is more compact near the waters edge. The Brighton end of the beach is far steeper with dunes running up to the car parks.

Harvest Boulangerie Patisserie is an accessible venue with flat street access. No steps to go inside. No outside tables but enough room to move and sit inside. No signage for special accesbility. Closet accessbility bathroom in Woolworths Burlington across street & Deanmore Square.  No close by accessible parking but some can be found at White Sands Tavern & Scarborough Beach Pool/Surf Club
