Harbour View Hotel

The Harbour View Hotel is situated on the corner of Cumberland Street and Lower Fort Street in The Rocks, under the southern end of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. There is a ramp leading into the premises and a lift which provides access to the second floor restaurant.

The nearest accessible parking is about 60 metres away at 9 George street.

The entrance can be reached directly from the footpath. There is no flight of stairs at the entrance, but there is a small change in level at the doorway. The entrance has double wooden doors. During opening hours, the doors are kept open, so visitors do not need to push or pull them. The indoor floor is hard and mostly flat.

The indoor area has both standard height tables and chairs and high tables and stools inside. Most tables and chairs are separate and movable, so they can be moved to create more space for a wheelchair if needed. However, some tables are quite close together. The space between tables may be limited and wheelchair movement may become difficult.

The outdoor floors are mostly flat, these areas have awnings, which provide some shade and protectionfrom rain. There are standard-height tables, benches, separate chairs, and some higher tables and stools. Most of the furniture can be moved.

However, the outdoor areas are quite narrow. There is a path along one side of the seating area, but tables and chairs reduce the available space. Wheelchair access may be more difficult, especially when the area is busy.

There are also some slightly uneven areas in the outdoor seating spaces, so wheelchair users may need to take extra care when moving through these areas.

An accessible toilet is available on the ground floor. The toilet door has a clear wheelchair symbol. It is relatively spacious and the floor is mostly flat. Grab rails are installed beside the toilet to help with transfers and balance. There is also a fold-down baby change table on the wall. The door is not automatic, users need to pull it open.
