Geraldton Foreshore offers a fantastic variety of fun free activities accessible by wide clear pathways all along the foreshore benefiting from a Changing Places facility, beach matting, beach wheelchairs & accessible parking.
A waterpark is located at the heart of the foreshore with lots of sprays, water cannons & tipping water buckets all surrounded by grass & shade. Directly adjacent is a shaded playground with slides, rope obstacles, climbing net & toddler proof fence . The Two Foreshore Cafe is opposite along with a Dome Cafe on the opposite side or few other cafes across the road along with pop-up ones along the foreshore.
150m to the south is the Youth Precinct featuring a skywall, merry-go-round, climbing cube, basketball court & football along with a multi-purpose ‘rage cage’ for netball, soccer, basketball, cricket, rebound tennis & more.
The Foreshore offers pristine sandy beaches with plenty of space. The area in front of Champion Bay Surf Life Saving Club is patrolled Sundays between 9am & 1pm during the summer. There are also two pontoons which are removed during the winter months.
There are two beaches offering access matting, the first at Town Beach adjacent to the Geraldton Yacht Club which also offers a ramp. The second at Champion Bay, near the iconic Rubik's cube toilets.
There are two beach wheelchairs available for hire, one is stored at Changing Places public toilets located in the Youth Precinct near Stow Gardens (Master Locksmiths Access Key are at: Sail Inn snack Bar, Geraldton Multipurpose Centre GMC and at the Two Foreshore Café). The second at Champion Bay Surf Life Saving Club (CBSLSC) at Champion Bay Beach (Access to Wheelchair Saturday and Sunday 7 am –12pm or Call Peter Nelson on 0407 471 828) or phone 08 9956 6600 or 1300 08 9956.
Located at the southern end is the Esplanade offering fantastic views including Sea Lions at Seal Rock. There are also free to use BBQs, Changing Places facility along with regular change rooms, showers, seating, gazebos, daybeds overlooking the water, art installations, cafes & eatries. Accessible toilets can be found at Foreshore Rubix , Geraldton Art Gallery/Post Office & Centro Stirlings. ACROD parking is also available along with a car park for the playground at the end of Stella Maris Drive.
