Anita's is a gelato and ice cream bar located outside of Central Park Mall in Chippendale.

There is no street parking nor accessible parking in the shopping mall.

There is stair-free, accessible access into the shop through its entrance on Central Park Avenue. There is a set of double doors, both of which are usually open unless it is cold outside, to which they usually close one of the doors. The doors are manual entry and are slightly heavy, however a member of staff is usually there to assist.

There are tables both inside and outside of the shop. The tables inside are closer together, whilst the tables outside have quite a bit of room. All of these tables are chairs are able to be moved. These are all low tables, with some bench seating. There is more seating up 3 stairs, on the left of the entrance.

There is no accessible toilet on site, however there is one located on the ground floor of Central Park Mall.

Anita Gelato

The cinema is fully accessible, with accessible seating available with no steps or other barriers from the entrance. These seats and spaces are reserved for customers who have a genuine need and are only released by cinema staff in person at the cinema or over the phone.
For hard of hearing or visually impaired the auditoriums are setup with the Fidelio headset & neck loop options.  These receivers are available at the box office when tickets are purchased.  The neck loop option works in conjunction with the hearing aid + the headset has adjustable volume to boost the dialogue levels.

Palace Central Cinemas

Chippendale Green is a mall next to Central Park Mall.

It is a newly renovated and mainly accessible green space that is frequently used for picnics and general meetups. There is a ramp coming from O'Connor Street to access the green space. At this entrance near O'Connor Street, the grass and chairs are able to be accessed without stairs. These spaces are also accessible via 2-5 stairs. 

The terrain is mainly grass and concrete. All of this terrain is relatively flat, with all hard paths. There are no steep slopes.

There is not a particular picnic area, however there are a few picnic chairs. These chairs all have handles and may not be suitable for wheelchair users.

There is no accessible cafe or shop, however it is right next to Central Park mall, which offers an array of food options, and is accessible via a ramp.

There are no accessible bathrooms on the green, however there is one inside of Central Park Mall, that is roughly 2-5 minutes away. There are both ambulant and accessible bathrooms in the mall. 

There are no car parks, however there are 2 disability parking spaces on Balfour Street, only 2 minutes away.

Chippendale Green

Brewtopia Plus is a small cafe located in Chippendale which specialises in coffee, brunch and Japanese cuisine.

The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating, both of which are accessible without stairs. The front doors remain open during their opening hours. The restaurant requires you to go to the counter to order, but they will bring your order directly to your table.

The restaurant is itself is located next to Wellington Street with 3 disability parking spots available on that road.

The restaurant does not have any bathrooms. The closest accessible and ambulant bathrooms are located inside Central Park Mall, which is roughly 10 minutes away. 

Brewtopia Plus

Nomu Bar is a small, Japanese inspired cocktail bar hidden in Spice Alley in Chippendale. They also serve Japanese cuisine from the bar.

There are 4 parking spots on Kensington Street, when Nomu is located, however the are no assigned disability parking spot. There is more street parking in the surrounding areas. The next accessible street parking is on : 71 Regent Street,Westside, between Kensington Street and Outram Street

There is no step-free access to the main bar. Access to the bar requires one step. The doorway into the bar is quite narrow, and there is only one entrance. There is one other entrance to their restaurant area that can be step free, through the roller door.

In their main bar, there is limited bench seating, with the tables and bench seats being very close together. In their second room, there are two low tables that are able to be used. In the restaurant area there are a few low tables, however they are very close together.

Nomu Bar Sydney

PapaRich is a Malaysian restaurant chain with this branch located in the University of Technology Sydney

The UTS centre offers paved level pathway approach to automatic glass entry doors. There is lift & escalator access to level 3 floor court with open plan entry, freestanding tables, chairs, high tables with stool seating & access to the counter. 

Accessible toilets can be found in UTS & parking just outside the entrance.

PappaRich UTS

Unders Cafe is a small, boutique cafe located in the heart of Chippendale. They specialise in coffee and breakfast food. They work mainly as a takeaway cafe.

Unders is located on Queen Street, where there are 3 disability parking spots.

To get into Unders Cafe, you must get onto the sidewalk, which is quite narrow. There are 4 steep stairs to enter and exit the cafe, and there is no portable ramp. 

There are no bathrooms in Unders, the closest accessible and ambulant bathrooms are in Central Park Mall, roughly 15 minutes away. 

There is only bench seating, with a small amount of table space.

Unders Cafe

An American Staple comes to Australia. 
Step free wheelchair accessible entrance, plenty of space inside to manoeuvre around, low counter making it easy to order and bee seen.

Indoor seating, tables are a bit close together, but there is room on the end of tables for a wheelchair.  There are also booths which again can also fit a wheelchair at the end of the table. Tables are a bit low if you are using an electric Wheelchair but can easily  accommodate height of manual wheelchair.

Ordering stations are design so you can wheel right up to and under them so you can reach the screen.

Very different to Gomez Y Gomez Tacos, might me an acquired taste for Australians, but definitely an experience. 

Accessible toilets can be found at Central Train Station on Eddy Street & Darling Harbour on Pier Street. Parking can be found at Market City on Quay Street & Capitol Square Carpark.

Taco Bell Haymarket

An accessible venue with no doors, lift, escalator and ramp access from carpark or street level

Eat Istanbul

Broadway Shopping Centre offers step-free access via automatic doors on each level, with lifts connecting all retail and carpark floors. Accessible parking is available on every parking level and is clearly distinguished from pram parking. However, some accessible spaces are signposted as unsuitable for vehicles with mounted wheelchair lifters.

Accessible and ambulant bathroom stalls are located across multiple levels. Accessible toilets are spacious and feature automated button-operated doors.

Most food venues offer wide, open seating areas that can comfortably accommodate wheelchair users.

A wheelchair and a mobility scooter are available for use and can be booked through the Customer Experience Team at (02) 8398 5620.

There are no entry doors with the restaurant being inside the food court. Accessible levels marked near lifts in shopping centre but no signs directing to the restaurant.

Oporto - Surry Hills

Central station is at the southern end of the Sydney CBD. It is the largest and busiest railway station in NSW and services almost all of the lines on the Sydney Trains network, and is the major terminus for NSW TrainLink services. It occupies a large city block separating Haymarket, Surry Hills, and the CBD, bounded by Railway Square and Pitt Street in the west, Eddy Avenue in the north, and Elizabeth Street in the east. It is spread over two levels. On the lower-level are the trains serving the Sydney network. The platforms are reached by a series of lifts.

On the upper level are the Country trains serving the wider NSW network, from the original Grand Concourse. The two levels are connected by a large lift. Very occasionally, if this is not operating, a member of station staff can escort you through a staff only route, between the two levels.

The taxi pickup and drop-off point is on the upper Grand Concourse level.

If replacement buses are running when there are line closures, these leave from Eddy Avenue, near the taxis.

There are accessible toilets on both levels. These are locked with an MLAK. If you don't have a key, ask an attendant or station staff.

The Dispensary 1908 is an accessible coffee, breakfast & lunch house with step-free front & no door.  The venue has a lovely history originally designed as a private residence back in 1896, 33 Glebe Point Road functioned as the Sydney United Friendly Society Dispensary from January 1909.  Patients would bring in their own bottles and jars and purchase ointments, leeches, cod liver oil, lime water, camel hair brushes, poppy heads and chamomile flowers.

Dispensary 1908

Dopa Donburi and Dessert is a stylish Japanese eatery known for its comforting rice bowls and beautifully presented desserts like kakigori and shibuya toast. The entrance is fully step-free and wide, allowing smooth access for wheelchair users and those with prams or walkers. While the door is not automatic, it remains open during business hours, making entry effortless.

Inside, the space is bright and welcoming, with a range of seating options. Both high and low tables are available, ensuring comfort for wheelchair users. The pathways between tables are spacious enough for easy navigation. There's also an outdoor seating area with level flooring, providing further accessible options. The ordering counter is low enough to approach with a wheelchair, and the friendly staff are always happy to assist.

Though no accessible toilet was identified nearby, the layout of the restaurant supports a relaxed dining experience for customers with mobility needs. Photos show the ample interior space, inclusive seating arrangements, and visually engaging menu. While no designated accessible parking was found immediately adjacent, the flat footpath and open layout contribute positively to the venue’s accessibility.

Spanish Tapas is a stunning Mediterranean-style restaurant located in the heart of Glebe, right next to the University and Victoria Park, with Broadway Shopping Centre just a few meters down the street. This Spanish tapas bar has been serving authentic Spanish cuisine since 1997, offering an immersive experience with homemade recipes and vibrant, flamboyant Spanish decor.

The venue is spacious, with a dining area that accommodates mobility devices, ensuring everyone can enjoy a genuine Spanish experience.

The main entrance is accessible via a ramp, allowing easy entry for all guests. After entering the venue, you’ll find easy seating options to the right, or you can venture further in to enjoy a Spanish football-themed decor
 

Restrooms are located at the end of the venue. The ladies’ restroom includes ambulant features and is accessible via ramped pathways. While the door to the accessible restroom may require manual assistance, it is manageable, just a heads-up: there are no handrails in the toilets. The men’s restroom is a bit further, up a small step.

For a true Spanish experience, visit on Mondays for half-priced tapas or on weekends, when they have live flamenco shows during dinner.

This is a take away cakes pies and pork rolls shop. There are two steps at the entrance, though if you wish you can give a shout or the staff should notice you and take your order.

Sappho Books is an accessible cafe, second hand bookshop open for for brekkie, tapas & wine with step-free front & open door during opening hours.  
The interior is cramped however tables & chairs can be moved.

The Shift Eatery in Surry Hills is a trendy, 100% plant-based café known for its delicious vegan sandwiches, coffee, and brunch dishes. It offers a casual and cozy atmosphere, with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a  spot for those seeking healthy, cruelty-free meals in the heart of Sydney.

The café is wheelchair accessible thanks to a ramp at the entrance, allowing mobility devices to enter the venue without any issues. However, since it is a small space, navigating inside may be more challenging during busy hours. You can easily place your order inside and enjoy your coffee or meal in either the indoor or outdoor seating areas, depending on the weather.

Unfortunately, the toilets in the venue are not accessible. The door threshold is quite narrow, and reaching the communal bathroom requires going up some steps.  Closest accessible toilets can be found at Central Train Station.

Shift Eatery

Located on Gadigal land, the Chau Chak Wing Museum is a hub for sharing the University of Sydney's extensive collections with the wider community. 

The main entrance of the museum is step-free, ensuring convenient access for all visitors. Elevators are installed throughout the venue, providing seamless access to every floor. Within the exhibition halls, there are no steps, allowing for easy navigation between different galleries on the same level.

On the second floor, the museum features a café with a step-free entrance, interior, and outdoor dining area, ensuring accessibility. Chau Chak Wing Museum

Zhang Liang Malatang is a Chinese spicy hot pot franchise chain with the Haymarket store located in the Meriton Suites on George Street Sydney.

The restaurant offers step free entry via paved level pathway approach to glass double entry doors. Inside there are open food counters with shelves at different heights & depths to choose from. Once ingredients are selected take to the chefs who will charge you based on the weight of your ingredients & then cook your dish in a soup base of your choice.

Freestanding tables & chairs can be found in the dining area along with covered outdoor seating.

The restaurant serves malatang which is a Sichuan version of Chinese hotpot, a dish where ingredients are selected from a diverse buffet that features vegetables, noodles, meats, seafood & sauces to form a soup. The malatang difference, however, comes from the mala sauce, a Sichuan chilli pepper sauce that can cause a slight numbing sensation. And if soup doesn’t float your culinary boat, you can opt for a stir fry option.

Flying Fajita Sistas

Centrally located in Surry Hills, Belvoir is one of Australia’s most distinguished and beloved theatre companies. There is no outside seating or accessible toilet, but one can be found at Collaroy Beach Surflife Saving Club, accessible parking nearby on the  street opposite restaurant or at Collaroy Beach South & North.  

Crento Italian Glebe

This is a spacious and lovely french restaurant.  The owner was extremely friendly and chatty and proud how accessible he had made his restaurant, including an accessibility toilet. There are large doors at the entrance and sufficient space around the tables.

La Grillade restaurant 

Step-free fully wheelchair accessible entrance, inside has ample space to move, there is also outdoor seating. Space between tables is a little tight but the staff are friendly and helpful and will move tables/chairs if needed.

I have only had coffee  and a bacon and egg roll here so far, which was delicious. 

Great place to sit an watch the world 🌎 go by, catch up with friends and loved ones or grab a quick coffee to go.

Accessible toilets can be found around 1km away at Central Train Station on Eddy Street, accessible parking can be found at Holt Street.

Otto Noorba is a semi-accessible Mediterranean, Italian and Modern Turkish Restaurant with step-free front to outdoor seating but steps to go inside venue and ramp accessibility.  There is no door entry & table spacing allows for a wheelchair to fit easily.  There are tables, non fixed seating & outside seating.	
There is an accessible toilet onsite along with further toilets on ground & lower ground floors at Broadway Shopping Centre along with parking.

Thai 44 is a Thai restaurant offering a wide variety of traditional dishes such as Grapao (Thai basil stir-fry rice), Tom Yum hot pot, and popular street-style snacks. They also serve smoothies, milk teas, and other sweet beverages. The entrance to the restaurant is step-free and the doors are kept open, making it easy for wheelchair users or people with prams to enter without assistance. The door width is also wide enough to be wheelchair-friendly. There is outdoor seating available, and the height of the ordering counter is suitable for wheelchair users. Roadside restaurant with a ledge separating the road and footpath, access from the road also blocked by a barrier to enclose the outdoor seating.	
Entry doors are manual.

Much more than just a city garden, the walled Chinese Garden respectfully recreates the philosophy and harmony of a traditional Chinese garden in its waterfalls, lakes, exotic plants, pavilions and hidden pathways. With koi carp swimming in the lakes, willows weeping in the breeze and a teahouse serving Chinese tea and dim sum. The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a tourist attraction located at Darling Harbour. There is an entry fee into the gardens, but they are only partially accessible to wheelchair users. There is a ramp at the front of the venue providing step-free access. Pathways and pavilions in the lower garden are accessible for wheelchairs, however, steps and rocky pathways make the upper part of the garden difficult to access. The closest passenger drop-off point to the garden and accessible parking possibility is on Harbour Street. The Chinese Garden has a fully upgraded accessible toilet.
