Accessible Beach In AustraliaEmu Point Cafe

This cafe houses a beach wheelchair housed in a small metal shed, attached to the corner of the building. There is a concrete ramp followed by a wooden ramp right down to the water. The beach has hard sand and a floating jetty about 20mtrs out. The water is flat and there are no waves in the section outside the cafe and where these ramps lead to, so it’s virtually like swimming in an indoor pool. The cafe itself is a little tricky to get into (it has steps out the front) but there is an alternative entrance around the back in the hall that leads to the accessible toilet. Seats are widely spaced and there are many tables outside on the same level too. With good food and coffee, this is a popular local hangout due to its sheltered position. There’s are 3 accessible parking bays out the front of the cafe and next to the beach wheelchair shed.
