Accessible Surf Lifesaving Club In Livingstone ShireEmu Park Main Beach
Emu Park Main Beach is located on the south side of the point and faces due east. It is 1.2km long, with low Rocky Point forming the southern boundary and a rock outcrop on the centre of the beach. It is patrolled on Saturday afternoons and Sundays from mid-September through to Labour Day, with patrols increasing to all day on Saturdays between November to February. Additionally there is always a Lifeguard on duty during the Easter Holidays.
There is accessible Mobi-Mat Beach matting available all the way to the sand & a Sandcruiser Beach Wheelchair available to hire for free. There is no need to book in advance, just ask the friendly lifeguards at Emu Park Surf Lifesaving Club or staff at The Honey Bee Collective.
There is an accessible bathrrom, shower & change room available. The modern clubhouse is located at the northern end of the beach and is fronted by a seawall. It is surrounded by an extensive grassy foreshore reserve with easy to wheel along wide flat footpaths. There is standard street parking and several wheelchair car parks adjacent to the surf club.
There is shaded areas around the surf club & BBQ areas in the adjacent foreshore park. There is a café available at surf club on Wednesday- Sunday, and public holidays with plenty of tables and chairs around for having lunch, some wheelchair cutouts.
