    About this place

Bronte Beach offers a range of accessibility features, including accessible parking, restrooms, a promenade with dedicated viewing areas, and accessible parkland directly behind the beach. Waverley Council provides one adult-size and one child-size beach wheelchair, shared between Bondi and Bronte beaches; these must be booked online in advance.

Promenade & Beach Access The beach can be accessed from multiple points along Bronte Road via paved, sloped pathways that lead to the promenade. The smoothest entry point is from the northern end of the promenade. A beach access ramp is located at the northern end of the beach near the surf club. Reaching this ramp involves navigating a steep pathway before continuing along the level promenade. The beach itself consists of soft sand with a medium gradient.

Accessible Restroom An accessible shower and toilet are located near the beach ramp. Entry is via a wooden ramp. Inside, the facility includes a toilet with handrails, a shower with handrails, a wooden bench, and a change table.

Rock Pool & Southern Toilets The rock pool at the southern end of Bronte Beach is not accessible. Access requires descending two separate flights of stairs — five steps followed by seven steps. The nearby toilets at this location also have two steps at the entrance and do not provide accessible facilities.

Bronte Park Bronte Park, located directly behind the beach, includes accessible picnic areas and barbecue facilities. Accessing the picnic tables and benches requires crossing a flat grassy area. The southern entry point near Calga Place is the most convenient access route, as it is closest to the accessible parking spaces. The northern entry point, near Bronte Marine Drive and Bayview Street, has no parking available, and the path from this point to the picnic area is long and steep, which may be moderately challenging for some users.

Parking Accessible parking is available in two locations off Bronte Road. Bronte Cutting car park at Calga Place is the closest parking facility to both Bronte Beach and Bronte Park, and includes four designated mobility parking spaces; however, the pathway from this car park to the promenade is narrow, steep, and relatively long. An additional accessible parking area with three spaces is located off Bronte Road near the playground. Signage for this area displays "Restricted Parking Area," which may be confusing for visitors. From both parking locations, the distance to the beach ramp is considerable.
