Accessible Playground In Cessnock WestBridges Hill Park Playground

    Bridges Hill Park located in Cessnock is a fantastic playground for all ages, due to the range of play equipment. Access to the park is via sandstone steps or wide wheelchair / stroller accessible ramps with ample parking at the car park.

    There are multiple types of timber play zones at the playground, including a smaller zone with a platform on either end with a woven rope beam connecting the platforms & tree stump steeping stones for balancing skills. Another zone has a large play play structure with rock climbing walls, “fireman poles”, stairs and slides with an elevated platform connecting the structures. There is also an enclosed metal slide that runs down on a slope from one level of the park to another along with a children’s bike / scooting area which is designed to mimic real roads complete with traffic signs & fuel pump to fill their ‘cars’.

    The centrepiece of equipment in this park is the massive blue and purple themed play structure with 10 metres of climbing netting, platform, tunnel & enclosed metal slide.

    There are wide concrete footpaths around the park for easy roll accessibility, Yarning Circle, sandstone retaining walls which can double up for seating & views across Cessnock to the Brokenback Ranges.

    The park also offers sheltered picnic tables, barbecue facilities, accessible amenities block & shade sails. There is also a half-sized basketball court which includes fencing around the sides that ensures no balls roll away or get lost.

    East Cessnock Bowling Club is right across the road and plenty of cafes are within 2-3 minute drive on Aberdare Road(B82).
