This is a spacious and lovely french restaurant.  The owner was extremely friendly and chatty and proud how accessible he had made his restaurant, including an accessibility toilet. There are large doors at the entrance and sufficient space around the tables.

La Grillade restaurant 

This is a take away cakes pies and pork rolls shop. There are two steps at the entrance, though if you wish you can give a shout or the staff should notice you and take your order.

For hard of hearing or visually impaired the auditoriums are setup with the Fidelio headset & neck loop options.  These receivers are available at the box office when tickets are purchased.  The neck loop option works in conjunction with the hearing aid + the headset has adjustable volume to boost the dialogue levels.

Palace Central Cinemas

The outdoor seating is spacious and conveniently located on the sidewalk, offering a relaxed setting for guests. However, the restaurant's only entrance has a high step, making access to the indoor space less friendly for wheelchair users or those with mobility challenges. Additionally, the canteen does not have a restroom, and while there are many temporary parking spaces available nearby, none are designated for disabled drivers.

Carriageworks is one of Australia’s most significant creative industry hubs, renowned for its dynamic cultural events, performances, and exhibitions.

The entrance to the venue is located on the left side of Wilson St, alongside the sidewalk, requiring a short walk downward to access. A ramp is positioned to the right of the stairs at the entrance, providing convenient access for individuals with disabilities. The main door itself has no steps, allowing free and easy entry.

Inside, the venue is entirely step-free, with all dining areas situated on the ground-floor hall for maximum convenience. A wheelchair-accessible restroom is also available within the venue. Additionally, multiple wheelchair-accessible parking spaces are located on the left side of the building, with additional spaces further to the right. Overall, the venue is highly accommodating and disability-friendly.

Carriageworks

Into Laksa is a four chain Malaysian Laksa restaurant located in Sydney.

The Waterloo branch features step free entry via paved level pathway approach to glass entry door.  Inside is bright & spacious with floor to ceiling windows, low & high bench tables with stools, access to the counter & covered outdoor street dining.

Accessible toilets & parking can be found 500m away at East Village Shopping Centre.

The venue has no step free access with one step into the store. The entry doors are heavy & a swinging door.

Step free wheelchair accessible entrance, plenty of space inside to manoeuvre around, low counter making it easy to order and bee seen.

Indoor seating, tables are a bit close together, but there is room on the end of tables for a wheelchair.  There are also booths which again can also fit a wheelchair at the end of the table. Tables are a bit low if you are using an electric Wheelchair but can easily  accommodate height of manual wheelchair.

Ordering stations are design so you can wheel right up to and under them so you can reach the screen.

Very different to Gomez Y Gomez Tacos, might me an acquired taste for Australians, but definitely an experience.

Yes, you can find accessible parking about 200 meters away, in front of the park on the same footpath as the Surry Hills Library. There is enough space for one car, or possibly two small ones. The street is well connected to ramps, making Henrietta a fully accessible venue.

The Shift Eatery in Surry Hills is a trendy, 100% plant-based café known for its delicious vegan sandwiches, coffee, and brunch dishes. The café is wheelchair accessible thanks to a ramp at the entrance, allowing mobility devices to enter the venue without any issues. However, since it is a small space, navigating inside may be more challenging during busy hours. You can easily place your order inside and enjoy your coffee or meal in either the indoor or outdoor seating areas, depending on the weather.

Unfortunately, the toilets in the venue are not accessible. The door threshold is quite narrow, and reaching the communal bathroom requires going up some steps.  Closest accessible toilets can be found at Central Train Station.

Shift Eatery

Nour in Surry Hills is a vibrant, modern Middle Eastern restaurant that brings a fresh twist to traditional flavors in a stunningly designed space. The interior is warm and the elegant decor creates a chic and welcoming atmosphere. 

When it comes to accessibility, Nour is quite accommodating. It has big windows connecting the outside dinning tables with the inside. The tables outside are high tables with high chairs so it might be worth it to enter the venue.

The entrance has a step, however the venue owns a portable ramp that can be deployed and used when you arrive. 

The accessible entrance is right next door! Let the staff know you are coming and they will guide you to the right hand side of the main entry allowing easy access for those with mobility needs. Inside, the layout is mostly open, with ample space between tables to navigate comfortably. While Nour doesn't have dedicated accessible toilets, the staff is known to be helpful and attentive, and they’re always ready to assist with any special requests to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. For specific needs, it’s best to call ahead to confirm arrangements.

Inside, the spacious layout keeps things comfortable, and for those who need accessible facilities, there’s a dedicated toilet on the courtyard level that’s easy to reach on the lower floor right next to the lifts.  The ground level is where most events are run and where you can easily stroll around and be part of the interactive games and shows. On the mid level, there is a whiskey bar with an open space, very cost and accessible by the lift. On the top level, you can easily move around hallways and decide where to sit, if inside or in the balcony. Bear in mind that the balcony presents a small step and that is quite narrow for a wheelchair.

The Clock is all about making everyone feel right at home, so whether you’re catching up with friends or simply soaking in the atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy yourself!

The Clock

Central station is at the southern end of the Sydney CBD. It is the largest and busiest railway station in NSW and services almost all of the lines on the Sydney Trains network, and is the major terminus for NSW TrainLink services. It occupies a large city block separating Haymarket, Surry Hills, and the CBD, bounded by Railway Square and Pitt Street in the west, Eddy Avenue in the north, and Elizabeth Street in the east. It is spread over two levels. On the lower-level are the trains serving the Sydney network. The platforms are reached by a series of lifts.

On the upper level are the Country trains serving the wider NSW network, from the original Grand Concourse. The two levels are connected by a large lift. Very occasionally, if this is not operating, a member of station staff can escort you through a staff only route, between the two levels.

The taxi pickup and drop-off point is on the upper Grand Concourse level.

If replacement buses are running when there are line closures, these leave from Eddy Avenue, near the taxis.

There are accessible toilets on both levels. These are locked with an MLAK. If you don't have a key, ask an attendant or station staff.

The Dispensary 1908 is an accessible coffee, breakfast & lunch house with step-free front & no door.  The venue has a lovely history originally designed as a private residence back in 1896, 33 Glebe Point Road functioned as the Sydney United Friendly Society Dispensary from January 1909.  Patients would bring in their own bottles and jars and purchase ointments, leeches, cod liver oil, lime water, camel hair brushes, poppy heads and chamomile flowers.

Double Barrel Coffee + Food House in Newtown is a charming café offering a welcoming space for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike.

However, the restroom is located outside the café and requires crossing a high step to access, with a compact space that may not be suitable for disabled guests. Nearby Forbes St offers plenty of parking spaces, though none are designated for disabled users.

Access to the shop on the roadside with a ledge separating the road and footpath, but it is possible to access the shop from the corner of Francis Street and Glebe Point road where there is a slope in the road to make it level with the footpath.  Entry doors is manual.

Restrooms are located at the end of the venue. The ladies’ restroom includes ambulant features and is accessible via ramped pathways. While the door to the accessible restroom may require manual assistance, it is manageable, just a heads-up: there are no handrails in the toilets. The men’s restroom is a bit further, up a small step.

Dirty Red

The Shed is a cafe chain restaurant with stores throughout NSW & ACT serving home-style rustic meals & 100% Arabica bean coffee. The cafes feature calm earthy tones, industrial metal, concrete, brickwork & soft greenery.

The Moore Park store is located on the ground floor of Supa Centa Moore Park shopping centre offering step free entry accessed via paved level pathway approach to automatic glass entry doors. The cafe features large open step free entry with easy access to the counter freestanding tables, chairs & banquette seating.

Accessible toilets & parking can be found in the shopping centre.

The Shed

Baja Cantina is an accessible California-style Mexican with step free access to the venue & manual door.  
Inside is cramped but a wheelchair can fit between tables with moveable chairs.  
There is limited outside seating out the front but also a beer garden at the rear.  
There is no accessible toilet onsite but ones can be found at ground & lower ground floors along with parking.  Street parking can also be found nearby.

Sappho Books is an accessible cafe, second hand bookshop open for for brekkie, tapas & wine with step-free front & open door during opening hours.  
The interior is cramped however tables & chairs can be moved.

The Wedge Glebe

Zhang Liang Malatang is a Chinese spicy hot pot franchise chain with the Haymarket store located in the Meriton Suites on George Street Sydney.

The restaurant offers step free entry via paved level pathway approach to glass double entry doors. Inside there are open food counters with shelves at different heights & depths to choose from. Once ingredients are selected take to the chefs who will charge you based on the weight of your ingredients & then cook your dish in a soup base of your choice.

Freestanding tables & chairs can be found in the dining area along with covered outdoor seating.

The restaurant serves malatang which is a Sichuan version of Chinese hotpot, a dish where ingredients are selected from a diverse buffet that features vegetables, noodles, meats, seafood & sauces to form a soup. The malatang difference, however, comes from the mala sauce, a Sichuan chilli pepper sauce that can cause a slight numbing sensation. And if soup doesn’t float your culinary boat, you can opt for a stir fry option.

Flying Fajita Sistas

Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Surry Hills, Tento offers an exclusive Japanese dining experience, featuring meticulously handmade, exotic dishes that are truly one of a kind. This charming café is perfect for casual lunchs or lively morning coffee gatherings.

Tento is tucked away in a hidden spot at 3/8 Hill Street, Surry Hills. To access the venue, you’ll need to ascend a few steps, but the good news is that a lift chair is available for assistance. Please call the venue in advance to ensure they can accommodate your arrival, as the lift chair is the only way to access the restaurant. Once you’ve used the lift chair, the pathway to the venue is flat.

The café offers a spacious outdoor seating area in front of the main kiosk and counter, as well as an indoor dining space. The indoor area is easily accessible, with a wide and open threshold, allowing you to choose between the terrace and the indoors. The friendly staff are always ready to assist and ensure a comfortable experience at Tento.

If arriving by car, accessible street parking is available:

407 South Dowling Street (Westside): Between Flinders Street and Hannam Street, a 5-10 minute stroll to the venue.

Campbell Street (Southside): North of Little Bourke Street, featuring a parallel parking space (3.2m wide by 7.8m long, 4P Mobility Parking Only, 8am-10pm).

While drop-offs in front of the café might be slightly tricky, they are still manageable. Tento’s commitment to accessibility and its welcoming ambiance make it a must-visit spot in Surry Hills.

TenTo

Crento is a roadside restaurant with ledge separating road and footpath, may be difficult to access. Entry doors are manual.	
Table spacing allows for wheelchair to fit with assistance.  There are tables and high stools with non fixed seating to floor. 		
There is no outside seating or accessible toilet, but one can be found at Collaroy Beach Surflife Saving Club, accessible parking nearby on the  street opposite restaurant or at Collaroy Beach South & North.  

Crento Italian Glebe

The venue is wheelchair accessible with lifts to the lower ground floor where we are located via the lobby of Paramount House Hotel. Access to the cinema is via small ramps. 
In the cinema, there are reserved accessible seating available towards the back of the room, only available to be booked through one of the staff members. 

Golden Age Cinema & Bar

The Organic Bread Bar in Darlinghurst is a vibrant and inviting take away bakery known for its delicious organic breads and baked goods. The space features a lovely open layout, making it feel welcoming to smell the delicious fresh baked goods.
 

Accessibility is a priority here, as the bakery has a wide open area that caters to people with disabilities and mobility devices. There’s an embedded ramp connecting the footpath to the bakery, ensuring easy access to the counter, which is at a slightly higher level. Despite the height of the counter, ordering is hassle-free, and the friendly staff are always ready to help you.

The bakery has limited space, and while you can see the bakers working on your fresh goods inside, the outdoor area where the bread is displayed and where customers place takeaway orders only allows for ordering and taking away their incredible local products. Public toilets are not provided or available.
 

Whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee or picking up some fresh bread or pastries, the Organic Bread Bar is designed to make your experience enjoyable and accessible for everyone. you can reach it from South Dowling Street.
