Public transports

The nearest recorded stop is Redfern St at Pitt St, approximately 50 m from the cafe. The route is continuous, level, step-free and wide enough for a wheelchair, with no obstacles recorded. A road crossing is required and has a kerb ramp and pedestrian signals with adequate crossing time. No accessible-entry direction sign was recorded along the approach.

Drop-off point

A drop-off point was recorded near 95 Redfern Street, approximately 50 m from the entrance. The route to the cafe is step-free and has enough space for wheelchair transfer or lift equipment. There is no shelter, and traffic, kerb and surface conditions require care.

Disabled parking

One dedicated accessible parking bay was recorded at 10 Pitt Street. It is an angled bay. Permit requirements, time restrictions, shared-zone dimensions and the detailed route from the bay to the cafe were not recorded.

2. Place / Path

Entrance

The main entrance is step-free, easy to find and marked for accessible entry. A permanent ramp is available. The manual sliding door is normally kept open and was not recorded as heavy. The clear width, threshold and turning space were all assessed as suitable for wheelchair use, with no staff assistance required.

Internal path

The route from the entrance to the main service area is continuous, step-free and wide enough for a wheelchair. Floors are level, slip-resistant and well maintained, and no fixed obstructions or stair-only areas were recorded. However, the route may become difficult when crowded, and the service counter is not at a wheelchair-friendly height.

Lifts/Hoisting equipment

No lift or platform hoist was recorded; the public areas assessed are on one level.

Seating and facilities

Standard-height tables with removable chairs are available, with wheelchair clearance underneath and adequate spacing between tables. Accessible outdoor seating is available. No dedicated wheelchair space was recorded, but the main cafe facilities are otherwise accessible.

3. Accessible toilet

There is no accessible toilet inside the cafe. The nearest recorded facility is beside or accessible through the premises at 92 Pitt Street. The route is step-free and signposted. The unisex toilet has a manual door that is not heavy, adequate doorway and internal manoeuvring space, transfer space and reachable fittings. There is no emergency call device or adult changing table. No staff procedure is required. Some stored items partially obstruct the route, and cleanliness and maintenance were recorded as limited, although the toilet was usable.
