Tuckshop Tamada is a takeaway restaurant serving third generation affordable, authentic Thai Food.  Tucked away on Bible Lane in Civic (next door to Akiba and where Flash Eats burgers used to live).

The Tuckshop does have steps up to the counter, however the staff are friendly & am sure would come down to take an order.

So far, Tuckshop Tamada is only open for weekday lunches. But business hours may expand into dinner service depending on demand. The family also have a permit for outdoor seating which is something they will organise soon.

The Canberra Carousel is located in Petrie Plaza in the Canberra Central Business District.  

This picturesque carousel delights children & adults alike with its air of olde-worlde charm.  The organ & the fifty two hand carved wooden horses & two elephants were specially imported from Germany. The twisted brass upright poles were made in Scotland.  The horses are four abreast in 14 rows,  two hand carved wooden elephant carriages, one elephant is white the other is grey.  Most of the horses & elephants have names; even Pharlap has his place on the platform.  Beginning life in Melbourne in 1914, the carousel was installed in Canberra in 1974.

The Carousel offers paved pathway approach with limited access to actually ride on the carousel depending on ability.  Unfortunately wheelchair access onto the carousel is not possible.

Malatang Zhangliang is a Chinese spicy hot pot franchise chain with the Canberra city store located on Marcus Clarke Street.  

The restaurant offers step free entry via paved level pathway approach to glass double entry doors.  Inside there are open food counters with shelves at different heights & depths to choose from.  Once ingredients are selected take to the Zhangliang Malatang chefs who will charge you based on the weight of your ingredients & then cook your dish in a soup base of your choice.

Freestanding tables & chairs can be found in the dining area with further outdoor covered street tables & stools.

The restaurant serves malatang which is a Sichuan version of Chinese hotpot, a dish where ingredients are selected from a diverse buffet that features vegetables, noodles, meats, seafood & sauces to form a soup.  The malatang difference, however, comes from the mala sauce, a Sichuan chilli pepper sauce that can cause a slight numbing sensation.  And if soup doesn’t float your culinary boat, you can opt for a stir fry option.

CMAG Cafe is an accessible venue with step free access to double automatic doors located inside the Canberra Museum & Gallery on the corner of London Circuit & Civic Square, Canberra City. 

The venue is fully wheelchair accessible & a wheelchair is also available for patron use.  The CMAG café operates, 8.30am – 3pm Monday to Friday, 12-4pm Saturday & Sunday, serving drinks & light snacks.  The cafe also caters for a range of dietary requirements & offers free wifi.
