The closest ocean beach to the centre of Sydney a mere 7km away, Bondi Beach has become synonymous with Sydney's beach lifestyle and is very popular with tourists, daytrippers, backpackers, residents and all Sydneysiders.
Bondi Beach is fully accessible to wheelchair users. The promenade that runs along the top of the beach is fully wheelchair accessible and access onto the soft sand can be gained by any of the various ramps along the promenade. The ramp at the northern end of the beach is the least steep.
There is a stand-alone unisex disabled bathroom and disabled toilets in Bondi Pavilion (MLAK key is needed to access this). The ladies and men’s toilets also have a larger stall in each for easy access which do not require a MLAK key.
There is only one beach wheelchair available. It is free for visitors to use. Booking a beach wheelchair is essential by calling 9083 8400 or email: bondipav@waverley.nsw.gov.au

It is located in lockers on the promenade at the northern end of the beach. The lockers provide a secure place to store your own wheelchair while enjoying the beach.

Beach Matting: A portable beach access mat provides independent access to the beach for people who prefer to use their own wheelchair or mobility aid. 

The mat is currently rolled out twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:30am to 2pm,

You do have options to eat out the front or continue strolling down Campbell Parade to take in the beach vibes. Bondi Beach is probably the most famous beach in Australia with 1km of stunning beach & home to one of the oldest Surf Life Saving Clubs in Australia.

 Surrounded by parkands, Bondi Beach also has a great variety of shops, restaurants and take away places to choose from. A wide ramp at North Bondi makes access to the beach easy Mobi-mat beach mats are in use at Bondi Beach on Thursdays and Saturdays from 8.30am to 2pm, surf and weather conditions permitting. They are located at the northern end ramp of Bondi Beach, near Wally Weekes pool. Please note that the matting does NOT reach the ocean’s edge.  

Beach wheelchairs are available for hire: you can choose between the Sandcruiser (adults) or Sandpiper (children). Please use the beach wheelchairs to access and swim between the flags. Two accessible parking spots are located right near the ramp down to the beach at North Bondi. There is also plenty of parking available in the open air car park behind the beach. Accessible bathrooms and showers are available near the beach wheelchair lockers just back from the promenade.

Bonditony's Burger Joint is an inaccessible burger bar on Glenayr Avenue in Bondi. A large step at the entrance to the restaurant prevents wheelchair access and there is no portable ramp to assist. There are some partially accessible seats outside Bonditony’s.

Funky Pies is accessible by wheelchair. There is step-free access into and inside the small shop and a few accessible tables inside and outside. There is no accessible toilet on site.

Sushi Train Bondi Beach is a partially accessible restaurant located at the northern end of Campbell Parade. The conveyor belt is inaccessible for wheelchair users, but there are accessible tables outside of the venue. The restaurant doesn’t have an accessible unisex toilet on site.

Sushi Train Bondi Beach

The Anchor Bar & Restaurant is an accessible venue at the south end of Campbell Parade. There is step-free access into and throughout the venue, which has an accessible toilet on site. Some of the seating inside and outside of the venue may be inaccessible due to the use of benches.
There are no close accessible parking spots available.

The Bucket List is an accessible bar and restaurant. The outside seating area can be accessed via the street, but the restaurant can only be entered via the ramp outside the Pavilion entrance and making your way along to the restaurant. Some of the venue’s seating is inaccessible, but there are accessible toilets on site.

The Nine is an accessible breakfast bar in Bondi. There is a gentle ramp at the door to aid entry into a small seating area and the cafe’s counter. There are a number of small tables outside the venue, which does not have an accessible toilet.

Bondi Beach Holiday Apartments is inaccessible to wheelchair users. The hotel has no rooms suitable for wheelchair access and not all areas of the hotel can be accessed step-free.

Katzy’s Food Factory is an accessible deli on Hall Street in Bondi. There is step-free access onto the premises and throughout the indoor seating area. The venue also has an accessible outdoor seating area. Accessible toilets are also available.

Pizza Hut is an inaccessible takeaway restaurant in Bondi. There are steps at the main entrance and no portable ramp to assist with wheelchair entry.

Lox Stock & Barrel is an accessible New York-style deli. Space is at a premium inside the venue after you enter via the step-free doorway, with some tables inaccessible. Speakeasy is an inaccessible bar on Curlewis Street in Bondi. A step leading to the narrow doorway makes the venue inaccessible via wheelchair. There is also no portable ramp on site to assist with entry.

Bondi Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club is partially accessible to wheelchair users. There is a ramp at the front of the building providing step-free access, but only the ground floor can be accessed via wheelchair. There are accessible toilets available on site and accessible parking spots can be found at the beach carpark.

The famous Bondi Baths have been an historical landmark of Bondi Beach for over 100 years and are open to the public all year round. Featuring both a larger lap pool and smaller kid’s pool, qualified lifeguards are on patrol during opening hours all year round.
Bondi Icebergs pool is accessible to wheelchair users. Entry must be made via the Notts Avenue entrance. The club advise ringing ahead to let them know you’re coming so they can arrange access down to the pool. A bistro is available on site.

Bagel Bar & New York Deli is an accessible destination to meet your bagel cravings. Upon arrival, you'll have straightforward, easy entry as the door is always kept open. Once inside, you have low-level table and bench seating that is spacious for a wheelchair user and anyone with a pram. 

There is no toilet on premise and only street parking is available.

Icebergs Dining Room and Bar is accessible for wheelchair users. The venue itself advises ringing ahead to organise wheelchair access from the street entrance on Notts Avenue. The dining room has some seating which is cramped and may prevent access but you can discuss details with staff members. There are accessible toilets on site. There is no step-free access into Bondi Rumba, rendering the venue inaccessible by wheelchair. The main dining area itself is also very cramped and some tables may be inaccessible. There is no portable ramp on site to assist with entry.
