The closest ocean beach to the centre of Sydney a mere 7km away, Bondi Beach has become synonymous with Sydney's beach lifestyle and is very popular with tourists, daytrippers, backpackers, residents and all Sydneysiders.
Bondi Beach is fully accessible to wheelchair users. The promenade that runs along the top of the beach is fully wheelchair accessible and access onto the soft sand can be gained by any of the various ramps along the promenade. The ramp at the northern end of the beach is the least steep.
There is a stand-alone unisex disabled bathroom and disabled toilets in Bondi Pavilion (MLAK key is needed to access this). The ladies and men’s toilets also have a larger stall in each for easy access which do not require a MLAK key.
There is only one beach wheelchair available. It is free for visitors to use. Booking a beach wheelchair is essential by calling 9083 8400 or email: bondipav@waverley.nsw.gov.au

It is located in lockers on the promenade at the northern end of the beach. The lockers provide a secure place to store your own wheelchair while enjoying the beach.

Beach Matting: A portable beach access mat provides independent access to the beach for people who prefer to use their own wheelchair or mobility aid. 

The mat is currently rolled out twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:30am to 2pm,

North Bondi is where the locals go to swim and hang out, leaving the main stretch of Bondi Beach to the visiting tourists and backpackers. The beach is looked after by the good folks from North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club. It's also a very popular spot with the boys, who tend to show off their gym efforts. North Bondi Beach is fully accessible to wheelchair users. The promenade that runs along the top of the beach is fully wheelchair accessible and access onto the soft sand can be gained by any of the various ramps along the promenade. Tables are spacious, however, this location does bring a crowd so booking ahead is recommended on weekends. There is a ramp available that directs you to the accessible toilet which also includes some additional equipment. It has signage, spacious and well kept inside.  Surrounded by parkands, Bondi Beach also has a great variety of shops, restaurants and take away places to choose from. A wide ramp at North Bondi makes access to the beach easy Mobi-mat beach mats are in use at Bondi Beach on Thursdays and Saturdays from 8.30am to 2pm, surf and weather conditions permitting. They are located at the northern end ramp of Bondi Beach, near Wally Weekes pool. Please note that the matting does NOT reach the ocean’s edge.  

Beach wheelchairs are available for hire: you can choose between the Sandcruiser (adults) or Sandpiper (children). Please use the beach wheelchairs to access and swim between the flags. Two accessible parking spots are located right near the ramp down to the beach at North Bondi. There is also plenty of parking available in the open air car park behind the beach. Accessible bathrooms and showers are available near the beach wheelchair lockers just back from the promenade.

Anitas is an accessible destination for any ice cream lover. Anita’s boutique ice creams are 100% hand-made from natural ingredients and perfect for a hot summers day. The open-wide doors offer an easy, flat entry point for you to discover their delicious flavours (and yes, you can taste test them too!). There is limited, spacious seating here, however, depending on the time of day, it might get too crowded inside. You do have options to eat out the front or continue strolling down Campbell Parade to take in the beach vibes. Bondi to Bronte is a 1.5km coastal walk starting on Bondi Beach and ending on Bronte Beach. The walk is inaccessible to wheelchair users as there are a number of steps along the route as well as some very rocky terrain.

Lyfe Cafe is an accessible breakfast spot and cafe in Bondi. An open plan, step-free entrance provides wheelchair access to the counter and small indoor seating area. There are also a few accessible tables located outside. There is no accessible toilet on site.

The Bondi Bach Cafe is a small, inaccessible cafe on Glenayr Avenue. A small step prevents access to the counter and indoor seating area. There are a limited number of outside tables which are accessible.

Macelleria on Campbell Parade is an accessible butcher and restaurant. Macelleria literally means “Butcher Shop” and they offer a unique meat eating experience.
There is step-free access upon entry and throughout the venue, which doesn’t have an accessible toilet. Seating is generously spaced inside the restaurant and most is accessible for wheelchair users.

There is a designated accessible unisex toilet which requires an MLAK key to access. At the Pavillion there are accessible shops and a restaurant. The Nine is an accessible breakfast bar in Bondi. There is a gentle ramp at the door to aid entry into a small seating area and the cafe’s counter. There are a number of small tables outside the venue, which does not have an accessible toilet.

Hunter Park is located at the end of Notts Avenue in Bondi, with Bondi Icebergs and the start of the Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk to the east and Campbell Parade / Bondi Road to the west. Hunter Park has several sculptures around the park that make it an interesting photography spot and thoroughfare for locals.
Hunter Sculpture Park is a partially accessible park in Bondi. There is step-free access from Bondi Road but the gradient is very steep throughout the plot. There are no toilets at Hunter Park. There is a toilet block at nearby Marks Park. Head north towards Bondi for some of the best cafe culture Sydney has to offer. The park doesn’t provide any picnic or Barbecue areas. There is no dedicated parking for the park. If you’re lucky, you might secure parking on Campbell Parade, otherwise try Sandridge Street and some of the back streets around Marks Park.

Katzy’s Food Factory is an accessible deli on Hall Street in Bondi. There is step-free access onto the premises and throughout the indoor seating area. The venue also has an accessible outdoor seating area. Accessible toilets are also available.

QT Bondi is accessible to wheelchair users. There is step-free access and lifts from the entrance on Beach Road. The hotel’s accessible rooms are in the QT Deluxe Range. The rooms feature a roll-in shower equipped with a seat and hand rails.
Make sure to contact the hotel before your stay to ensure there are accessible rooms available. The hotel is surrounded by accessible cafes and food shops.

Brown Sugar is an inaccessible cafe and bistro on Curlewis Street in Bondi. A step at the doorway prevents wheelchair access into the venue and there is no portable ramp on site to assist with entry. There are also no outside tables.

Lox Stock & Barrel is an accessible New York-style deli. Space is at a premium inside the venue after you enter via the step-free doorway, with some tables inaccessible.
