Coogee Beach is a great beach with calm surf and is family-friendly. The promenade area has restored historic buildings and nurtured parklands. Most of the facilities are located at mid-beach with showers, change rooms and toilets near the Arden Street bus stop. Upmarket restaurants now jostle with fish and chip shops and an increasing number of boutiques. The beach is accessible. There are several access points along the promenade, the easiest of which is a ramp to the left of the main steps as you look at the beach. The sand is mainly soft and the beach is of a gentle gradient. There are accessible toilets located opposite the main steps to the beach. Also accessible changing rooms and showers can be found there. However, Coogee Beach doesn’t have a beach wheelchair but part of the Coogee end of the Coastal Walk is accessible. The boardwalk hugs the coast most of the way and you can spot all kinds of wildlife during your walk. There are many off street parking spots available at the beach.
