A wide ramp at North Bondi makes access to the beach easy Mobi-mat beach mats are in use at Bondi Beach on Thursdays and Saturdays from 8.30am to 2pm, surf and weather conditions permitting. They are located at the northern end ramp of Bondi Beach, near Wally Weekes pool. Please note that the matting does NOT reach the ocean’s edge.  

Beach wheelchairs are available for hire: you can choose between the Sandcruiser (adults) or Sandpiper (children). Please use the beach wheelchairs to access and swim between the flags. Two accessible parking spots are located right near the ramp down to the beach at North Bondi. There is also plenty of parking available in the open air car park behind the beach. Accessible bathrooms and showers are available near the beach wheelchair lockers just back from the promenade.

Lush On Bondi is an accessible restaurant and bar located next to Bondi Pavilion. The outside seating area can be accessed via the street, and the restaurant can only be entered via the ramp outside the Pavilion entrance and making your way along to the restaurant. Some of the venue’s seating is inaccessible due to high benches and stools. The venue doesn’t have accessible toilets but there are some inside the Pavillon.
Next to the venue is the beach carpark which provides several accessible parking spots. 

Lush On Bondi

San Churro is an inaccessible Spanish chocolateria located on Campbell Parade in Bondi. A step at the main entrance prevents wheelchair users from gaining access, and there is no portable ramp to aid entry. There is also no outside seating area.

Brand new accessible toilet (or disabled toilet) and showers in a separate building behind Bondi Surf Club. Level path to access and ramp up to big open area. Main door has push-button entry, as have other toilets.

Accessible Toilets 

The Depot is an accessible cafe on Warners Avenue, North Bondi with drop curb to outside seating, low & high tables.  The family run corner cafe is popular with locals & offers bistro style dishes.  

To enter the cafe there is a step you do have navigate but once inside the venue is well spaced out to accommodate wheel chairs.

There is a toilet on site, however they are not accessible for a wheel chairs as they are the existing toilets in the building and has a narrow entrance to them.  However, there are accessible toilets at Bondi Pavilion, South & North Bondi Beach.  

Accessible parking can be found Park Drive South & Bondi Beach.  

The Depot

Vue Bar is a rooftop bar in Bondi that is inaccessible via wheelchair. Located on Campbell Parade, the only entrance to the venue is via a flight of stairs. There is no lift on site.

A large step into Raw Bar makes this bar in Bondi inaccessible. There is no ramp to assist with wheelchair access, although there are accessible outside tables.

Harry’s Bondi Beach is an accessible cafe located on Wairoa Avenue..There is a takeaway kiosk on the exterior of the building and also step-free access into the cafe itself. There is accessible seating inside and outside, but there is no toilet on site.

Harry’s Bondi Beach is an accessible cafe located on Wairoa Avenue. There is a takeaway kiosk on the exterior of the building and also step-free access into the cafe itself. There is accessible seating inside and outside, but there is no toilet on site but one can be found at North Bondi Beach & Bondi Pavillion.  The closest accessible parking spots can be found at the Pacific carpark.

Harrys Bondi

Lamrock Cafe is an inaccessible eatery located just across the road from Bondi Beach. A portable ramp is needed to gain access to the counter and dining area, but the Lamrock does not have this facility. However there is some outside seating available.

The Bucket List is an accessible bar and restaurant. The outside seating area can be accessed via the street, but the restaurant can only be entered via the ramp outside the Pavilion entrance and making your way along to the restaurant. Some of the venue’s seating is inaccessible, but there are accessible toilets on site.

The Bucket List

Bondi Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club is partially accessible to wheelchair users. There is a ramp at the front of the building providing step-free access, but only the ground floor can be accessed via wheelchair. There are accessible toilets available on site and accessible parking spots can be found at the beach carpark.

The closest ocean beach to the centre of Sydney a mere 7km away, Bondi Beach has become synonymous with Sydney's beach lifestyle and is very popular with tourists, daytrippers, backpackers, residents and all Sydneysiders.
Bondi Beach is fully accessible to wheelchair users. The promenade that runs along the top of the beach is fully wheelchair accessible and access onto the soft sand can be gained by any of the various ramps along the promenade. The ramp at the northern end of the beach is the least steep.
There is a stand-alone unisex disabled bathroom and disabled toilets in Bondi Pavilion (MLAK key is needed to access this). The ladies and men’s toilets also have a larger stall in each for easy access which do not require a MLAK key.
There is only one beach wheelchair available. It is free for visitors to use. Booking a beach wheelchair is essential by calling 9083 8400 or email: bondipav@waverley.nsw.gov.au

It is located in lockers on the promenade at the northern end of the beach. The lockers provide a secure place to store your own wheelchair while enjoying the beach.

Beach Matting: A portable beach access mat provides independent access to the beach for people who prefer to use their own wheelchair or mobility aid. 

The mat is currently rolled out twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:30am to 2pm,

North Bondi is where the locals go to swim and hang out, leaving the main stretch of Bondi Beach to the visiting tourists and backpackers. Two large steps at the main entrance of Gelbison Pizzeria Ristorante make the Bondi eatery inaccessible via wheelchair. There is a limited amount of outdoor seating, but there is no portable ramp to allow access to the main dining area.

A step upon entry to Boost Juice in Bondi prohibits wheelchair users from being able to access the counter. This inaccessible takeaway outlet does not have its own seating area.
