One of the most spectacular public gardens in Sydney, Wendy’s Secret Garden has been continuously created like a giant living painting since 1992, by Wendy Whiteley, artist in her own right, and wife and muse of Australia's eminent artist, Brett Whiteley.



In October 2015, what began as a guerilla garden was safeguarded, when North Sydney Council was granted a 30+30 year lease of Wendy's Secret Garden by the NSW Government.
 


Wendy’s Secret Garden – which is no longer a secret! – is nestled in Lavender Bay, just a short walk from the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This is a haven where locals and visitors can explore the tiered gardens with flowering plants, as well as views to the Harbour Bridge. Explore pathways that reveal striking sculptures that range from fine works to rustic pieces. Enjoy a picnic or relax at one of the tables or benches.

Wendy's Garden is not wheelchair accessible. There are steep inclines and a range of steps. Visitors with limited mobility may only access the uppermost sections of the garden via Clark Park.
 


The garden has recently undergone improvements to make the space more welcoming and accessible. A series of ramps have been added within the garden to allow visitors to navigate the garden’s levels with greater ease and gain access to the garden’s lower areas.

Accessible bathrooms can be found at Qubareee Park & Greenwood Plaza.  Regular metered parking can be found right outside, accessible parking 6 minutes roll/walk on Pacific Highway.

Work Inc is an accessible bespoke coworking space in North Sydney with large access point into the building and is very flat. The work area is very spacious and easy to get around.
There are disabled toilets available and there are lifts going to each floor.  There is no accessible parking closeby but can be found at Ridge Street

The venue has steps leading to the restaurant & going into the restaurant so these will need to be navigated. The steps from Lavender Street are steep & they ones from Walker Lane are large & wide. 

The interior of the restaurant is elegant with high ceilings, canderliers & white clothed tables with views over Sydney Harbour.  There are limited tables & chairs outside.

Lavendra Indian

Thelma & Louise is a lovely little accessible cafe located next to the Neutral Bay wharf.

Uniquely located on Sydney Harbour, Thelma & Louise cafe offers spectacular water views & is perfect for a creative brekkie, breezy brunch or long lunch. With paved level pathway approach the cafe has a small step on entry  with a flat part of the step offering step free entry.  The cosy busy room is bright with floor to ceiling windows, vintage decor,  freestanding tables, chairs, access to the counter & outdoor balcony tables.

Accessible bathroom can be found at Retort House, Kesterton, Anderson & Milson Park.  Only regular street parking is available.

Hotel located close to North Sydney station.

Currently no accessible entrance due to renovations December 2022 on the access ramp which looks unsuitable for wheelchair access and is for cars only.
