Abell's Kopi Tiam is an accessible family run restaurant serving Malaysian & Chinese dishes located on Manuka Shopping Precinct, Furneaux Street, Griffith.

Abell's Kopi Tiam

The National Police Memorial is an accessible memorial located King's Park on the northern shore of Lake Burley Griffin adjacent to the National Carillon on Aspen Island.

The memorial pays tribute to Australian Police officers who have been killed on duty or have died as a result of their duties.  Subdued lighting adds atmosphere every evening from dusk where each of the 700+ touchstones are individually lit. The rear of the wall is lit with an image of St Michael, the Patron Saint of Policing.

There is paved level pathway access to & around the memorial. Accessible toilets & parking can be found 200m away at Boundless Playground on Parkes Way.  Further disabled parking spots can be found on Wendouree Drive.

National Police Memorial Australia

The National Boer War Memorial can be found on Anzac Parade accessed via paved level pathway approach.

The memorial of  1.5 life size bronze horses and riders sculptures are dedicated to those Australians who volunteered and fought in the nation's first war.

The two large, copper clad walls emerge from the surrounding landscape to define the memorial space. The walls are aligned to the dominant parallel geometry of Anzac Parade to create a simple yet strong framing of the memorial.  

The different heights of the walls reflect their different functions; the higher back wall is a backdrop to the bronze sculptures, and the lower front wall frames the ceremonial forecourt while allowing interpretation to be read along its top. The faces of each wall will be a composite of several large, hand-forged copper sheets, joined with rivets and finished in a green copper patina.

National Boer War Memorial

Ikko is an accessible Japanese restaurant located in Belconnen's Grazier Lane, specialising in authentic Udon and Donburi dishes, offering a unique teishoku-style menu.

Stepping Stone is a semi accessible vegetarian social enterprise cafe located in Hawdon Place, Dickson.  There are steps into the main building, however there are outdoor tables and seating in gardens of the 1920s Homestead.

Stepping Stone operates a sustainable food business while providing hospitality-based employment, on-the-job training, and partnering with registered organisations to offer certified qualifications to women who face multiple barriers when seeking stable employment.

Residents can apply for permanent or casual roles at the café. They gain an income, hands-on experience and skills and qualifications through registered training organisations.

Stepping Stone is designed to be welcoming and supportive for migrant, refugee, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. It offers flexible rostering, adaptive training tools, on-the-job training and a menu that reflects the cultural diversity of the staff.

Old Bus Depot Markets

The Anu film Group are Australia's largest Canberra film society screening many films like Hollywood blockbusters, to independent films, foreign  films or films not found in your typical movie theatres.

The Anu Film Group is located in in the Kambri Precinct and caters to people with Disabilities very well. While the building is on a slope all areas can be accessed by lifts or ramps.  The building has contrast markings and well lit areas to make moving around the building safe. Braille is provided to help find your way around the buildings

Wheelchair and Ambulant bathrooms are available.

Hearing loops are available just have to be booked before the events. 

Assistance dogs are welcomed and the staff can provide water bowls for them.

Monster Kitchen & Bar is an accessible plant based restaurant & bar with step free access from Ovolo Nishi Hotel lobby.  There is a back entrance with a striking recycled-timber staircase with further timber features throughout the venue.  There is a wheelchair accessible lift to the first floor along with a wheelchair accessible bathroom onsite.

There is an eclectic range of furniture,  seating is an assembly of fixed Australian boomerang lounges, moveable wireframe chairs & stools, Kafka side tables, large & small marble dining tables.  Monster Kitchen & Bar just ask for you to mention if you are a wheelchair booking so they can remove furniture before you arrive.

There are various nooks around the venue, a faux fire, window seat with big cushions, concrete columns & dividers, even a concrete bar at the servery. The floor is a monolithic polished shattered terrazzo with hidalgoite green oxide seams, nice & smooth & level for easy rolling. 

Accessible parking can be found at 1 Phillip Law Street  & Canberra Car Park.  There is also a drop off point at the front of Ovolo Nishi Hotel.
