The Shift Eatery in Surry Hills is a trendy, 100% plant-based café known for its delicious vegan sandwiches, coffee, and brunch dishes. It offers a casual and cozy atmosphere, with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a  spot for those seeking healthy, cruelty-free meals in the heart of Sydney.

The café is wheelchair accessible thanks to a ramp at the entrance, allowing mobility devices to enter the venue without any issues. However, since it is a small space, navigating inside may be more challenging during busy hours. You can easily place your order inside and enjoy your coffee or meal in either the indoor or outdoor seating areas, depending on the weather.

Unfortunately, the toilets in the venue are not accessible. The door threshold is quite narrow, and reaching the communal bathroom requires going up some steps.  Closest accessible toilets can be found at Central Train Station.

Shift Eatery

Central station is at the southern end of the Sydney CBD. It is the largest and busiest railway station in NSW and services almost all of the lines on the Sydney Trains network, and is the major terminus for NSW TrainLink services. It occupies a large city block separating Haymarket, Surry Hills, and the CBD, bounded by Railway Square and Pitt Street in the west, Eddy Avenue in the north, and Elizabeth Street in the east. It is spread over two levels. On the lower-level are the trains serving the Sydney network. The platforms are reached by a series of lifts.

On the upper level are the Country trains serving the wider NSW network, from the original Grand Concourse. The two levels are connected by a large lift. Very occasionally, if this is not operating, a member of station staff can escort you through a staff only route, between the two levels.

The taxi pickup and drop-off point is on the upper Grand Concourse level.

If replacement buses are running when there are line closures, these leave from Eddy Avenue, near the taxis.

There are accessible toilets on both levels. These are locked with an MLAK. If you don't have a key, ask an attendant or station staff.

Central Station

When it comes to accessibility, Nour is quite accommodating. It has big windows connecting the outside dinning tables with the inside. The tables outside are high tables with high chairs so it might be worth it to enter the venue.

The entrance has a step, however the venue owns a portable ramp that can be deployed and used when you arrive. 

The accessible entrance is right next door! Let the staff know you are coming and they will guide you to the right hand side of the main entry allowing easy access for those with mobility needs. Inside, the layout is mostly open, with ample space between tables to navigate comfortably. While Nour doesn't have dedicated accessible toilets, the staff is known to be helpful and attentive, and they’re always ready to assist with any special requests to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. The Clock in Surry Hills is a classic Aussie pub with a big, welcoming vibe right in the heart of Surry Hills, on a bustling road that comes alive on weekend evenings. With plenty of space to move around, getting in and out is a breeze, thanks to the chair lift at the entrance and an internal lift that reaches every level. The Clock is fully accessible, making it easy to enjoy your time here without any worries. The friendly staff, quick ordering, and helpful security team ensure that everyone feels at ease.

Inside, the spacious layout keeps things comfortable, and for those who need accessible facilities, there’s a dedicated toilet on the courtyard level that’s easy to reach on the lower floor right next to the lifts.  The ground level is where most events are run and where you can easily stroll around and be part of the interactive games and shows. On the mid level, there is a whiskey bar with an open space, very cost and accessible by the lift. On the top level, you can easily move around hallways and decide where to sit, if inside or in the balcony. Bear in mind that the balcony presents a small step and that is quite narrow for a wheelchair.

Step free wheelchair accessible entrance, plenty of space inside to manoeuvre around, low counter making it easy to order and bee seen.

Indoor seating, tables are a bit close together, but there is room on the end of tables for a wheelchair.  There are also booths which again can also fit a wheelchair at the end of the table. Tables are a bit low if you are using an electric Wheelchair but can easily  accommodate height of manual wheelchair.

Ordering stations are design so you can wheel right up to and under them so you can reach the screen.

Very different to Gomez Y Gomez Tacos, might me an acquired taste for Australians, but definitely an experience.

The cinema is fully accessible, with accessible seating available with no steps or other barriers from the entrance. These seats and spaces are reserved for customers who have a genuine need and are only released by cinema staff in person at the cinema or over the phone.
For hard of hearing or visually impaired the auditoriums are setup with the Fidelio headset & neck loop options.  These receivers are available at the box office when tickets are purchased.  The neck loop option works in conjunction with the hearing aid + the headset has adjustable volume to boost the dialogue levels.

The UTS centre offers paved level pathway approach to automatic glass entry doors. There is lift & escalator access to level 3 floor court with open plan entry, freestanding tables, chairs, high tables with stool seating & access to the counter.

PappaRich UTS

Step-free fully wheelchair accessible entrance, inside has ample space to move, there is also outdoor seating. Space between tables is a little tight but the staff are friendly and helpful and will move tables/chairs if needed.

I have only had coffee  and a bacon and egg roll here so far, which was delicious. 

Great place to sit an watch the world 🌎 go by, catch up with friends and loved ones or grab a quick coffee to go.

Blue Brew Cafe

This is a spacious and lovely french restaurant.  The owner was extremely friendly and chatty and proud how accessible he had made his restaurant, including an accessibility toilet. There are large doors at the entrance and sufficient space around the tables.

La Grillade restaurant 

The venue is wheelchair accessible with lifts to the lower ground floor where we are located via the lobby of Paramount House Hotel. Access to the cinema is via small ramps. 
In the cinema, there are reserved accessible seating available towards the back of the room, only available to be booked through one of the staff members. 

Golden Age Cinema & Bar

Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Surry Hills, Tento offers an exclusive Japanese dining experience, featuring meticulously handmade, exotic dishes that are truly one of a kind. This charming café is perfect for casual lunchs or lively morning coffee gatherings.

Tento is tucked away in a hidden spot at 3/8 Hill Street, Surry Hills. To access the venue, you’ll need to ascend a few steps, but the good news is that a lift chair is available for assistance. Please call the venue in advance to ensure they can accommodate your arrival, as the lift chair is the only way to access the restaurant. Once you’ve used the lift chair, the pathway to the venue is flat.

The café offers a spacious outdoor seating area in front of the main kiosk and counter, as well as an indoor dining space. The indoor area is easily accessible, with a wide and open threshold, allowing you to choose between the terrace and the indoors. The friendly staff are always ready to assist and ensure a comfortable experience at Tento.

407 South Dowling Street (Westside): Between Flinders Street and Hannam Street, a 5-10 minute stroll to the venue.

Campbell Street (Southside): North of Little Bourke Street, featuring a parallel parking space (3.2m wide by 7.8m long, 4P Mobility Parking Only, 8am-10pm).

While drop-offs in front of the café might be slightly tricky, they are still manageable. Tento’s commitment to accessibility and its welcoming ambiance make it a must-visit spot in Surry Hills.

Zhang Liang Malatang is a Chinese spicy hot pot franchise chain with the Haymarket store located in the Meriton Suites on George Street Sydney.

The restaurant offers step free entry via paved level pathway approach to glass double entry doors. Inside there are open food counters with shelves at different heights & depths to choose from. Once ingredients are selected take to the chefs who will charge you based on the weight of your ingredients & then cook your dish in a soup base of your choice.

Freestanding tables & chairs can be found in the dining area along with covered outdoor seating.

The restaurant serves malatang which is a Sichuan version of Chinese hotpot, a dish where ingredients are selected from a diverse buffet that features vegetables, noodles, meats, seafood & sauces to form a soup. The malatang difference, however, comes from the mala sauce, a Sichuan chilli pepper sauce that can cause a slight numbing sensation. And if soup doesn’t float your culinary boat, you can opt for a stir fry option.

This is a take away cakes pies and pork rolls shop. There are two steps at the entrance, though if you wish you can give a shout or the staff should notice you and take your order.

One thing to note is that the entrance has a step, which makes it a bit tricky for those using mobility devices to get in. But don’t let that stop you! The area has good parking and accessible roads, but no accessible parking in particular. It’s still easy to get to the shop thanks to the curb ramp in front of the venue in the corner of the street. Bootsdarling Café, while charming and full of character, is unfortunately not accessible due to two large steps at the front door. These steps can pose a challenge for individuals using wheelchairs or mobility devices, making it difficult to enter the café. Only Terrace service is provided in this Café.

Inside, you’ll find a warm and inviting atmosphere with cozy décor and comfortable seating, perfect for enjoying a meal or coffee. The café is known for its delicious offerings, including fresh pastries and great coffee, but the lack of a ramp or alternative entrance limits access for those who need it.

The Bootsdarling Café offers a delightful experience on its terrace, which is a popular choice for many on sunny mornings, allowing you to soak up some vitamin D while enjoying a delicious snack and drink if you fancy. Table service is provided, but it's important to keep the accessibility limitations in mind when planning your visit. For instance, you won’t be able to access the toilets inside the venue. However, if you are visiting, oxford street is right around the corner while Bootsdarling Café rests in a tranquil corner in South Dowling Street.

Simon Says Juice in Darlinghurst is a renowned café celebrated for its fresh juices and healthy offerings.

They’ve recently given the place a fun makeover, making the ground level way more accessible and welcoming. The door is wider, so getting in with your mobility device is a breeze! Just a heads-up: the seating has booth tables, so your device might have to hang out at the end of the booth in the middle of the venue, which could make it tricky for others to get by. But we think it’ll work out just fine! They’ve added a couple of small tables in front of the counter facing the street, making it easy to have a quick stop while waiting for the bus or passing by.

One major inconvenience is the lack of restrooms, which means you’ll need to head to the nearest local pub, The Beacham (10 meters), which has accessible toilets. However, keep in mind that it may not open very early in the morning if you’re an early bird.

Their famous juices are a hit all around Sydney, and the new menu includes a variety of smoothies and bowls, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a sustainable twist.

UNSW Art & Design

In 1835, Governor Bourke, in response to the overcrowding and chaotic state of King Street Courts, directed the design of a courthouse outside Sydney Town, on the hill opposite the new goal. This was for convenient prisoner access and to separate criminal from civil matters.

Designed by colonial architect Mortimer Lewis, the Greek-revivalist building was completed in 1845. It was the first purpose-built criminal court in the colony and has been used ever since as a courthouse. The District Court took up residence in the early 1900s, and a new wing to the courthouse was added. In the 1920s, the newly founded High Court moved in, and additional courts were built. Today, Darlinghurst Courts constitute seven courtrooms and hears Supreme Court and District Court matters.

Darlinghurst Courthouse

Darlinghurst Courthouse was constructed in 1835-1845 in response to overcrowding issues at King Street Courts.  It was the first purpose-built criminal court in the colony and has been used ever since as a courthouse. Much more than just a city garden, the walled Chinese Garden respectfully recreates the philosophy and harmony of a traditional Chinese garden in its waterfalls, lakes, exotic plants, pavilions and hidden pathways. With koi carp swimming in the lakes, willows weeping in the breeze and a teahouse serving Chinese tea and dim sum. The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a tourist attraction located at Darling Harbour. There is an entry fee into the gardens, but they are only partially accessible to wheelchair users. There is a ramp at the front of the venue providing step-free access. Pathways and pavilions in the lower garden are accessible for wheelchairs, however, steps and rocky pathways make the upper part of the garden difficult to access. The closest passenger drop-off point to the garden and accessible parking possibility is on Harbour Street. The Chinese Garden has a fully upgraded accessible toilet.

Mr Wu is an accessible dumpling ar with a lift less than 100 metres from the restaurant to lower ground. There is a ramp to access the lift from lower ground. Closest parking is on level 2 and accessible by ramp, but is a few hundred metres away from the restaurant.		
There are no entry doors with the restaurant being inside the food court. Accessible levels marked near lifts in shopping centre but no signs directing to the restaurant.		
Wheelchair fits with assistance around the tables & no outside seating.	
Accessible toilet is available in the shopping centre on the same level, shared with the other  food court venues.
Accessible parking is nearby on the level 2 car park with ramp access to the food court

Stacks Taverna

Tumbalong Park is very wheelchair friendly. The Terrain is flat and smooth and within the park you can either find ramps or lifts to access other areas. The park is completely accessible, there are no areas which a wheelchair user cannot access. The park has two big picnic and playground areas where everyone can take a break and enjoy the park.
There is accessible parking on Wheat Road in Darling Harbour, next to the aquarium. You will find 6 designated parking spots which are generally free of charge.
Wheelchair users will also find an accessible public toilet.

Access parking is located on Maze Cres within the University of Sydney and a short distance to Seymour's entrance.

Wheelchair access
There is lift access to all levels of Seymour and wheelchair seating is available in all venues. Patrons can stay in their wheelchair or transfer from their chair to a seat and we can reserve an adjacent seat for companions. If you require wheelchair seating, please advise Box Office when booking.

Hearing loops are available in the Everest and York Theatres, amplifying sound for specific areas of seating.  If you require hearing loop access, please advise Box Office when booking.

Seymour is a Companion Card affiliate. We provide Companion Card holders with a second ticket for their chosen companion at no cost. Cardholders must present their card when booking and attending a performance.

Seymour Centre

The Social Quarter is an accessible cafe with ramp access from Darling Quarter to the main entrance. There is step-free access throughout, and most tables inside the small dining area are accessible. There is accessible outdoor seating as well, but some is inaccessible due to high benches. The space between tables is restricted.
Accessible toilets cannot be found onsite. The closest carpark is Wilson parking.

The Social Quarter

Braza Darling Harbour is an accessible restaurant located at Darling Quarter. There is ramp access from the front of the venue to the main entrance. There is step-free access throughout, and most tables are accessible. There are wooden benches in the outdoor area but it would be possible to make an arrangement with the venue. Staff can arrange a wheelchair accessible table outside and provide enough space between the tables depending on the time of the day. If the venue is too busy, however, they won’t be able to. There is a shared accessible toilet and accessible parking spots can be found on Darling Harbour.

Braza Darling Harbour

Taste Baguette & Grill is an accessible takeaway cafe located at Darling Quarter. There is ramp access from the front of the venue to the main entrance. There is step-free access to the counter, but there are no inside tables. The venue’s outdoor seating is mostly inaccessible due to the use of benches and high tables but there are also some other tables to chose from. There is no accessible toilet on site.
A Wilson Carpark is nearby for accessible parking spots.

Taste Baguette & Grill

The venue is fully accessible to wheelchair users. There is ramp access from the front of the venue to the main entrance. Step-free access throughout the venue is provided, and most tables inside are accessible. There is also an accessible outdoor area, but most of the tables are inaccessible due to high benches. But the staff will be happy to arrange a special table inside or outside before your arrival. There is also an accessible toilet on site.
Designated parking spots can be found in the Wilson carpark nearby. 

The Naked Duck Darling Quarter

Umi Sushi + Udon is accessible. There is ramp access from the front of the venue to the main entrance. There is step-free access throughout but it is very tight inside the venue so there is barely access for wheelchair users. However there is accessible outdoor seating. There is also a shared accessible toilet nearby.
Wilson Carpark offers accessible parking spots.

The café offers a cozy outdoor seating area on the sidewalk, perfect for a casual visit, though space is limited. However, accessibility is a challenge, as the only entrance has a high step, and the interior includes multiple steps, making it difficult for disabled or wheelchair users to navigate. Additionally, the café does not provide an accessible restroom, which may be inconvenient for some guests. On the bright side, designated disabled parking spaces are conveniently located nearby on Victoria St, offering some ease for visitors with mobility needs.

Darlo Deli

Nok Nok e is an accessible Asian eatery located at Darling Quarter. There is ramp access from the front of the venue to the main entrance.  Wheelchair users can't sit inside as there are mainly benches, leaving only outside tables.  There is a shared accessible toilet.
Wilson Carpark is close and offers accessible parking spots.

Nok Nok Thai Eating House

Little Bishop Espresso Bar is a cozy café, perfect for a quick coffee or light snack in a relaxed setting.

The outdoor seating area is located on the sidewalk, offering a few tables and chairs for guests. However, the entrance features several high steps, making it challenging for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility to access the indoor space. The café does not have a dedicated accessible restroom. While there are plenty of street parking options nearby, a few designated disabled parking spaces are conveniently located directly across the street.

Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café is an accessible cafe located at Darling Quarter. There is ramp access from the front of the venue to the main entrance. There is step-free access throughout. A wheelchair user can sit at tables inside and outside. If you inform the staff before your arrival they will make sure there is enough space between the tables.
An accessible toilet can be found on site.
Designated parking spots are available on Harbour street. From there you can take a lift to get to the venue.

Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café Darling Harbour

The Children’s Playground at Darling Quarter has an array of fun activities that promote learning and imagination for all ages. Water games, climbing ropes, swings, slides, and a flying fox will keep the kids entertained for hours. 
Darling Harbour Children's Playground is accessible to wheelchair users. Some areas of the park cannot be accessed due to steps, but large parts are accessible. The terrain is smooth and flat. cafes, restaurants and picnic areas are available nearby. There is no specific playground equipment designed for children in wheelchairs.
Several accessible toilets are located at the park. 
Darling Quarter conveniently offers accessible parking from Harbour Street in Wilson Carpark.

Darling Harbour Children's Playground

Tommy's Darlinghurst

The Lendlease Darling Quarter Theatre is an intimate venue located near Darling Harbour on the western fringe of Sydney’s CBD, with terrific transport links via train, bus, light rail and road. Lendlease Darling Quarter Theatre is part of the Monkey Baa theatre. Like the Monkey Baa it is fully accessible to wheelchair users. There is step-free access into and throughout the building, with wheelchair spaces in every theatre in the first row.  Accessible toilets can be found in the Foyer.
Parking Spots are available in the Wilson Parking Carpark.

Lendlease Darling Quarter Theatre

The restaurant boasts a spacious outdoor seating area, offering a welcoming alfresco dining experience. However, accessibility is limited, as the main entrance has a high step, and the two-level indoor dining area can only be accessed via stairs. Additionally, the restaurant does not feature an accessible restroom. For parking, a designated disabled space is located about 50 meters ahead on the left, providing some convenience for visitors with mobility needs.

Fermento Pizza

The Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust (SCGT) precinct is located off Driver Avenue in Moore Park.

This 'Sports Central' precinct is just a few minutes from central Sydney and is home to two of Australia’s iconic sports and entertainment venues - Allianz Stadium and the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The restaurant features an outdoor dining area, though some tables are situated on the lower side of the sidewalk, requiring caution due to the height difference between the sidewalk and the road. Accessibility may be a challenge, as the entrance and interior both have multiple steps, making it less convenient for guests with limited mobility. Additionally, the restaurant does not have an accessible restroom. For parking, a designated disabled spot is located about 50 meters ahead on the left, offering some convenience for those in need.

Suki Sushi

The entrance features a gentle ramp, ensuring easy access for all guests, including those using wheelchairs or with limited mobility. However, the café does not offer an outdoor dining area or a dedicated accessible restroom. For added convenience, there are two designated disabled parking spaces located diagonally across the street, making it easier for visitors with mobility needs to access the café.

Kitanda Bevs & Bites

The theatre is fully wheelchair accessible. There is step-free access into and throughout the building, with wheelchair spaces in every theatre.  To access the theatre wheelchair users have to go through different doors where they can find ramps to the theatres. The wheelchair spaces can be found in the first row. In the Foyer accessible toilets are available.
Designated parking spots can be found in Wilson Carpark on Harbour Street. You can call them and book a designated parking spot.

Monkey Baa Theatre Company

Gelatissimo is an accessible ice cream store located at Darling Quarter. There is ramp access from the front of the venue to the main entrance. There is step-free access throughout, and most tables are accessible, however, the seating arrangements outside are more suitable for wheelchair users. Gelatissimo provides accessible toilets on site.
The closest parking spots are available on Harbour Street.
