However, there is no dedicated accessible route leading directly from the road to the water’s edge or lookout positions. The terrain throughout the lookout area is varied. Near the entrance and surrounding streets, the surface is hard and sealed, transitioning into grass with gentle slopes across the reserve. There are no steep gradients visible, but the lack of continuous hard pathways limits access across the full area.

There is no accessible toilet available at Dumaresq Reserve, so visitors will need to use facilities elsewhere before arriving. Likewise, there is no accessible parking located at the reserve. Parking nearby is limited to standard street parking, which may involve crossing the road and travelling over grass or uneven ground to reach the lookout area.

The lookout space itself is quite spacious and open, offering plenty of room to pause, sit, or enjoy the view without crowding. The reserve appears generally clean and well maintained, with mown grass, clear sightlines, and maintained shoreline edging, although natural wear is visible near the water.

There is no additional accessibility equipment such as ramps, handrails, tactile indicators, or fixed seating designed for wheelchair users. No key is required for access, as the reserve and lookout area are open at all times without gates.

Dumaresq Reserve provides a calm and scenic lookout experience with good views across the water, but accessibility is limited by grassed terrain, the absence of accessible parking, and no accessible toilet on site. It may suit visitors who can manage uneven surfaces or who are accompanied, but full independent accessibility is limited.
