Old town of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, near Plaza de la Concepción. The streets here are pedestrianised, so you can't park at the door.

• Getting there: The easiest way is by taxi. Drivers know the drop-off points near Plaza de la Concepción, and from there it is a short roll along the level pedestrian streets. • Terrace: Wooden tables and chairs sit outside on the street under large umbrellas. The tables are standard height, so a wheelchair user can pull in by moving a chair aside. This is the best option.

• Entrance: Double wooden doors that open wide. The doorway looks close to level with the pavement over a low stone sill. The space just inside is narrowed by a chalkboard on one side and a glass bottle cabinet on the other.

• Inside: The room is very small. Most seating is high barrel tables with fixed milk-churn stools, and the bar counter is high too. There is little space to turn a wheelchair. There is one lower table near the door.

• Floor: Smooth, level ceramic tiles throughout.

• Food: Canarian and Spanish home cooking. Dishes include carrilleras al vino, ropa vieja, carne fiesta, queso asado con mojos, torreznos, and tablas of ibérico and cheese.
