Goodacre Park

Goodacre Park is a large, open grassed reserve managed by Fairfield City Council. Located near the corner of Goodacre Avenue and King Road, the park features a colourful children's playground with a combined climbing-and-slide structure and a separate swing set, set among mature gum and pine trees, with seating areas tucked beneath the shade.

Access & Mobility

Goodacre Park may be challenging to access for people with mobility needs. While a concrete footpath runs along the street edge and continues a short distance into the reserve, there is no continuous paved path leading from the outside through to the playground area. The park is largely covered by grass, and the play areas sit on a loose rubber/bark softfall surface, so reaching the equipment requires crossing grassed ground that can become uneven or soft underfoot, particularly in wet weather.

The most even and accessible entry point is via the pedestrian footpath on King Road, from where it is approximately 250 m to the park itself. There is no park signage identifying the reserve or its facilities at the entrances.

Seating is available within the park, with bench seats positioned along the path and near the playground and swing set, offering shaded spots to rest. There is no accessible parking on site — street parking is available on the surrounding roads, including along Goodacre Avenue. There are no toilet or accessible toilet facilities at the park.
