The McAlpin Reserve features a fully accessible walk for easy rolling or any other mobility aid with a sealed, smooth, wide path.  Upper areas are flat, mild slope further down & lower area can be walked or rolled for longer walk.

There are gardens with large leafy trees, small lake housing ducks & an accessible playground with wheelchair friendly carousel.  The path loops around the park & crosses over the lake. There are two bridges along the way, both can be crossed as wide & flat with safety rails & a non slip surface. 

Accessible seats with armrests can be  found along the path & shelters with sealed paths to accessible BBQs & roll under picnic tables.  An older style BBQ shelter, picnic table & benches can be found  along the way but this is accessed via gravel & uneven ground.  There are water fountains along the way, however not always accessible.

There is one accessible toilet near the main entrance to the Reserve which is easy to get to but does have a heavy door. 

There are 2 accessible parking spaces with a protected side space at the entrance to the reserve. These are separate to the main car park, so there is little traffic. The driveway is sealed, smooth and in good condition. There is a sealed path into the Reserve from the accessible parking & a parking space for community buses next to the accessible parking.  There is a wheelchair ramp into the Reserve from Wonga Road.
 

McAlpin Reserve Accessible Walk

McAlpin Reserve features a large accessible playground with  multiple zones for different abilities featuring a roll on carousel, inground trampoline, climbing structure, scooter track with traffic signage & swing set - with an expression swing!  There is also birds nest swing, water pump, rock river

There shelters with sealed paths to accessible BBQs & roll under picnic tables, benches & water fountains.  A pond with ducks, bridges & accessible walking trails throughout the reserve that connect through to Monterey Bush Park.  

There are 2 accessible parking spaces with a protected side space at the entrance to the reserve. These are separate to the main car park. The driveway is sealed, smooth and in good condition. There is a sealed path into the Reserve from the accessible parking.

Toilets are available at the main entrance to the Reserve including one accessible toilet which does have a heavy door. 

McAlpin Reserve Playground

Amazing Space is available for people of all ages & abilities with a wheelchair friendly playspace,  six accessible parking spots & toilets that can be used during opening hours.

The playground is themed around the four earth elements of fire, wind, water & earth with a continuous accessible path of travel both from the car park & through the playspace along with a wheel-chair accessible sand pit.

The sensory playground is set within pristine gardens with an old school building that has been incorporated into the new community centre. There are music making toys, spinners, a boat structure, secret pathways & lots of lawn for picnics.

Amazing Space@Federation Playground

Ambrie Reserve and Playspace located off Oban Road in Ringwood features an interactive & imaginative play for all ages & abilities.

The playground equipment includes a large combination play unit including two slides, Comet spinner, Horse Straddle rocker, see-saw & 3-bay community swing (with toddler, flat seat & nest).

A fully sealed concrete path around the playground is available for easy rolling accessibility.  There is seating, picnic table, onsite parking & walking path.

There are no toilets onsite, closest accessible ones can be found just under 700m away at Ringwood North Shopping Centre on Warrandyte Road.

Ambrie Reserve & Playspace 

Ainslie Park is a large park located in Croydon & can be accessed via Edith Avenue, Ainslie Park Avenue or Brentnall Road where car parking can also be found.

The park has a medium sized playground featuring climbing equipment, ladders, seesaw, rockers & hanging poles.  There are sheltered picnic seat & tables, water fountains & benches.

The park also features an oval, cricket practice nets, basketball court, half netball court, guide hall, dog off-leash area & walking circuit around the reserve. 

Accessible toilet can be found just under 800m away at Peter Vergers Reserve on Maroondah Highway & 900m McDonald's Croydon also on Maroondah Highway.
