Halley Park Playground is a colourful, all-abilities playground set in the middle of a lush green park, shaded with giant sails, shady trees, large rotunda with picnic tables & adult fitness workout station.

There’s heaps of climbing equipment including a main structure which includes three slides spiral, straight & curved, educational panels, noughts & crosses, climbing mats, mirrors, telescope, ramps, walkways & bridges, pommel step bridge to balance, cylinders with numbers, stepping stones & steps, ladders, climbers, balance beam, monkey bars & flying fox. There’s also a large rope climbing pyramid, see-saw, rockers, stand on spinners, line of frogs as stepping stones or to sit on, little tables & four swings catering for kids of all sizes.  There are lots of concrete paths throughout the park, perfect for riding scooters, bikes & easy rolling

There’s a small basketball court with hoop, heaps of open space along with a dog off-leash area at the western end of the park.

Picnic tables can be found in the large rotunda, BBQ facilities, more tables, sheltered areas, accessible toilets & plenty of off street parking.  

Halley Park

Gallbally Reserve features a rainbow playground with huge twin climbing & slide structure, expression swing where parent/carer can sit next to little one,  rocking train &  the Insect Hotel space with flowers & nature play.  

The park also features a half court basketball court, ninja play course with bars, swing & balancing equipment, pyramid structure & bike/rolling trail complete with traffic lights.  

The park offers shelter, picnic tables & benches, communal BBQs & plenty of grassed areas.

Regular toilets can be found 320m away at 1 Euston Road.  Accessible toilets  can be found approx 900m away at Murrumbeena Park Community Hub on Gerald Strett & Oakleigh Station on Haughton Road.  

There is limited regular on-street parking.  

Galbally Reserve Playground

Wattle Grove Reserve is a picturesque park tucked away behind the main roads of McKinnon with entrances from both Wattle Grove & Wheatley Road.

The reserve offers a large off-leash area, double sided multipurpose wall with targets & wicket painted on, playground with shade sails & large open space for ball sports.  

The playground features climbing cube, rock wall, swings, seesaw, tic-tac-toe, snowboard rockers, slides, monkey bar & spinning wheel with wide level lead-in easy roll pathways. & benches dotted around.

Located near the playground are BBQ facilities, water tap, picnic tables, an arbour offering park bench & rotunda offering shade tables & seating.  

There is an accessible toilet onsite via wide easy roll pathway & on street parking.

Wattle Grove Reserve

Highett Reserve Playground on Turner Road is a cute troll garden nestled under the shade of a large leafy tree which provides shade over the mainly fenced playground.

With statues of frogs, snakes & toadstools the park also features a wooden castle fort with firemans pole, windows & climbing frame, great seesaw, wooden balancing stumps, rock wall, monkey bars & three swings including a bird nest swing & one with a harness.

Closest accessible toilets can be found at Ampol Cheltenham North on Warrigal Road.

There are shaded tables & seats plus a shelter with BBQs, tables, regular toilets at the football club building & water fountain.  The playground is next to a huge expanse of ovals, three in total, pond & basketball half court.  

Free parking is available onsite along with on and off dog-lead areas.  there is no cafe onsite but one can be found 2 min drive from Highett reserve called Drip Café (88 Chesterville Road, Cheltenham) which has an outdoor area out the back which is also dog friendly.

Turner Road, Highett Reserve Playground

Hodgson Reserve in Bentleigh features three different playgrounds at the one venue.

First is the well shaded brightly coloured playground for smaller kids with slides, spinners, climbing apparatus, tunnels, swings and rockers. Next to that playground is a rotunda with tables, a BBQ & regular toilets. 

Next, there’s a recreational area aimed for the bigger kids/teens with large bouldering wall, basketball/netball court, table tennis table, rebound wall & rope climbing tower. 

The third playground is located up the hill & consists of snakes & ladders game complete with a spinning wheel dice, undercover picnic area, a few kids size picnic tables & an outdoor fitness station. 

There is also leashed and off-leash areas, dog-school training, on-street parking, water fountain, easy roll pathways & sports ground.

There are regular toilets available onsite, accessible ones can be found at Bentleigh Station on Centre Road. 

Hodgson Reserve Playground

Thomas Street Reserve features an all-abilities playground with extensive accessible play equipment.

There is an amazing intricate climbing castle structure with ramps, stairs, tunnels, multiple slides, DJ spinning deck with sound.  All ability equipment, including a wheelchair accessible trampoline.  Shaded waterplay / splash area, sandpit, fake turf with cow seat and pumpkin statues, parkour area, zip liner, multiple slides & swings, rocking boat, sculptures & giant hamster wheel.

Seniors exercise area complete with fitness equipment, undercover picnic area, drinking fountain, BBQs & multiple shaded picnic areas.  The playground is adjacent a spacious green reserve to kick a ball, or enjoy a picnic amongst shady trees.  

There is also a 500-metre waking path which can also be used for bike riding, scooters & easy rolling along with a nature walkway with little nest-like huts.

There are toilets onsite including Changing Places facility with fully accessible equipment.

Free Street parking is available – gets busy from mid-morning & into the afternoon.

Thomas Street South Reserve Playground

Basterfield Park on Dane Road at Hampton East features two playgrounds in the one park.

At one end of the park the playground consists of double zip line, sandpit, waterplay area, cubby house & shaded climbing house with slides & tunnels.

The other end of the park features an undercover gazebo, BBQ facilities, picnic tables & expansive open space.  There is an inclusive spinner, swings, climbing structure & crocodile & platypus statues.  

Inbetween the two playgrounds is a duck-filled lake,  tree-lined grass area, easy roll pathways & benches dotted around.  

Accessible toilets can be found onsite, parking on the street. 

Basterfield Park

Phoenix Park Adventure Playground located in Malvern East/Chadstone is part of the Phoenix Park precinct which also features a Community Centre, Library, Childrens Hub, Early Years Childcare Cenre & Cafe. 

The adventure playground offers a mostly fenced wooden fortress complete with turrets, towers, hidey holes, monkey bars, fling foxes, multiple swings, slides, steering wheels, musical charms & wide accessible lead-in pathways. 

The playground is adjacent to a large grassed area with picnic tables, BBQ facilities, drinking fountains, skate park, benches, free parking, shade sails & accessible toilets onsite.

The Phoenix Park Cafe is an accessible venue with step free entry, moveable tables & seating along with outside seating overlooking the playground.  

An interesting fact about the playground it was was designed by local schoolchildren and built by 600 members of the local community in 1998 over six days.

Phoenix Park Adventure Playground

Allambee Park in Sandringham features a playground with partly shaded climbing structure with dual wave slides, firemans pole, ladder, climbing wall, hanging rope, inclined walkway, shopfront, monkey bars, flying fox & hanging disk traverse.

There is also a truck springer, two swings, stand-on spinner, seesaw, birds nest swing, sandpit with water play, lots of diggers & wide open space with some shade provided by the leafy green trees & wide level accessible pathways.

There are picnic tables & benches, shaded table, water taps & unshaded seat.  Free parking is available but no toilet onsite.  The closest accessible toilets can be found around 1km away at Peterson Reserve, Tulip Street Reserve, Southey Street Foreshore with a Changing Places Facility at Thomas Street South Reserve. 

Allambee Park

Bald Hill Park is a sprawling open space with wide open grassy areas, accessible walking & bike trails winding through the trees, an off-leash dog area, as well a disc golf course & expansive playground. 

The playground features little tin huts with bridges, ramps & walkways connecting them, sandpit, slides, sandpit, tunnels, spinning wheel & large shady trees.  The main structure has a rope traverse, rope ladders, curved ladder, tunnel slide, rope forest, telescope & maze panel.

In a shady area is a hillock with a slide, kangaroo & wombat wooden sculptures, tea-cup with hand-wheel, hammock & four swings including one with a harness.Opposite the playground there is a huge grassy field which is home to Disc Golf.

There are shelters, picnic tables & BBQ area, seating, natural & artifical shade, accessible toilets, drinking fountain & accessible parking.

Bald Hill Park

No ramp access at front entrance, just a step.
Manual push door, double doors.
Not very spacious on the inside for wheelchairs.

Pizza

The footpath leading to the has a wheelchair accessible ramp on the side towards the payphone. The door to the restaurant is a manual push door with a 10CM gap of concrete. The entrance will be difficult to to enter with a wheelchair.

Wheelchair friendly access through the entrance of the petrol station. Disabled parking spot located next to the entrance. Door space is wide enough for a single wheelchair.

BP Petrol Station

Slight ramp present, gradient may be too great. Door not suitable for wheelchair access, manual doors. Ramp located near shop for mall strip access.

Packer Park at Carnegie features a frog themed all-abilities playground nestled in a tree-filled reserve. 

Play equipment includes stepping stones to balance on in the shape of a tadpole that gradually grows legs & turns into a frog statue.  There is a giant frog in a pond statue to climb on, frog 4 person seesaw & rockers, toad stool poles, rope bouncer, climbing frame. swings & slides.  The combined playground is connected with ramps and platforms, containing slides, tunnels, climbers, fireman poles & more.

There is a large grassed area, wetlands, BBQs, large cloth shaded area close to the playground with tables, seating, solid roof rotunda located close to the playground with two tables & seats, an off-leash dog area & easy roll walking pathways.

The park also offers sportsground (cricket and football), outdoor fitness equipment (under shade sails for protection from the sun), a golf birdie cage, cricket training nets, tennis hit up wall, basketball ring & netball goal posts, lawn bowls rink and bocce area & a Velodrome cycling track.  

Parking is on the street & there are regular toilets onsite, closest accessible ones can be found 1km away at Murrumbeena Park Community Hub on Gerald Street. 

Packer Park is home to Glen Eira Amateur Football Club, Washington Park Cricket Club & Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Club.
