Fingal Beach is a beautiful stretch of white sand, surrounded by parklands with play equipment and picnic tables. Fingal Bay is a family friendly patrolled beach.  The beach offers accessible beach matting 24 hours 7 days a week, beach wheelchairs, accessible bathroom, lead up pathways, retail & cafes within 150 metres.  Accessible Parking can be found directly in front of the Surf Life Saving Club.

Little Beach Nelson Bay has been upgraded to make it more accessible including improvements with accessibility to the park, improved signage for accessible parking, wheelchair-friendly picnic seating, creating new pathway links and widening existing pathways for wheelchair access. 

Little Beach also offers a disability jetty with access ramp providing access to the water via a water wheelchair. Public amenities include disabled toilets, play equipment including disabled play area, bbqs & picnic facilities.

Little Beach Reserve

Little Beach Boathouse is a fully accessible venue with step free access to all areas.  

There are two outside areas, the deck & below deck both overlooking the water with moveable seating options & tables. Inside the restaurant also has moveable seating & tables options with fabulous sea views.  

The venue offers accessible parking with designated parking spots & onsite accessible bathroom.  

Little Beach Boathouse

Nelson Bay Playground has been well-designed to cater for all ages positioned right in the middle of the bay.

The play equipment includes double slide, moving walkways, netting frames, rock climbing wall & a swing designed for children in wheelchairs to pull themselves up.

There is small picnic table near the toddler swing with plenty more shady tables along the foreshore.  Either direction from the playground there are numerous venues for an ice cream or fish & chips from the wharf to the marina.

Closest accessible toilet can be found at Nelson Bay Visitor Centre with additional ones at Donald Street car park, Nelson Bay CBD & Victoria Parade. 

Accessible parking can be found at 20 Donald Street (toilets too), 8 Teramby Road & 40 Victoria Parade.

Nelson Bay Playground

The scenic walk/roll from Nelson Bay to Little Beach is around 40 minutes return depending how far, fast or side tracked you get.

Starting from d'Albora Marina in the heart of Nelson Bay with the fantastic view of the luxury boats, waterfront cafe, restaurants , shops & most importantly wide pathways.

The coastal path extends along the foreshore & around the headland to Little Beach.  The concrete path is a shared path with cyclists & walkers but good width for two people together.  

Along the way is Nelson Bay Playground, Dolphin Watch Cafe which offers outside seating & signage  explaining Port Stephens Great Lakes Marine Park fishing sanctuary.  Past the sign onto Fly Point, a popular snorkelling location, accessed via a set of stairs.

The road continues up & around the headland, with a designated lane for walkers & cyclists.  Over the hill you get the gorgeous view of Little Beach with bright white sand, clear blue waters & accessible jetty.

Further on is Nelson Head Lighthouse Reserve & Inner Light Tearooms which also offers outside seating overlooing the water.

Along the walk there are plenty of accessible toilets including Nelson Bay Visitor Centre, Donal Street Car Park, Nelson Bay CBD & Victoria Parade to name a few.
