The Museu de la Mar de l’Ebre is step-free on the ground floor and spacious throughout the areas you can access. The upper floor flat but you’ll need to make sure the lift is working. ( GIVE THEM A CALL IN ADVANCE)

On the ground floor there’s only temporary exhibitions whereas the exhibition about the famous river. It’s on the upper floor.

• You can be dropped off directly at the main entrance of the museum.

• The main entrance is flat and the doorway is wide enough for wheelchair users.

• The entrance door is manual, but the reception desk is directly in front of the entrance, and staff are usually able to assist if they see you arriving. • There are a few narrow wooden strips at the entrance, but they do not significantly hinder wheelchair access.

• Inside, the exhibition spaces are very spacious, with wide circulation areas and flat flooring.

Tickets and toilets

• Entry for wheelchair users is the same as for everyone else and is based on a voluntary donation towards the museum’s maintenance. • After entering, you will find an accessible toilet on your left-hand side. • The toilet door is manual and there are grab rails on both sides of the toilet. • On Sundays, entry is free for all visitors.

Lift and upper floors

• There is a lift on site, which in principle provides access to the upper floors. The lift is there an outdoor corridor though • When we visited, the lift was not working, so it is important to check with the museum before you go; otherwise, you may only be able to visit the ground floor.
