Located on the coast of Louttit Bay, Lorne Main Beach is the only coastline patrolled during the summer months. The sheltered two-kilometre beach is safer than most, as Point Grey affords the shoreline considerable protection.

The beach offers accessible Mobi-Mat beach matting along the beach & to the water's edge adjacent to Lorne Life Saving club available 7 days a week along with plenty of Mobi-Mat wheelchair parking on the sand. The Mobi-Chair beach wheelchair is available to hire free of charge on weekends & public holidays during lifesaving patrol hours only, bookings are essential. A hoist is available onsite, however you will need to provide your own sling.

There are 3 accessible car parks down by the beach & 1 accessible toilet at the opposite end of the car park to the surf club. The doorway is not wide enough to fit a beach or wide power wheelchair though.

There is a grassy area with picnic tables & non sealed footpaths connecting tables to the main footpaths, remaining footpaths are also unsealed. The shops are closeby on Mountjoy Parade including fashion, shoes, homewares, books, gifts & lotsof cafes & restaurants to choose from.

You can also enjoy a roll along the pier & to Teddy's Lookout with excellent views oof The Great Ocean Road
