The Huntlee District Park One Playground at Huntlee is located about 45 minutes drive from Newcastle or 30 minutes drive from Maitland & is suitable for kids of all ages & abilities.  

The playgrounds offers a huge climbing structure with four enclosed slides, some accessed via climbing nets framed inside seven large cubes with tunnels & clear viewing panels.  There is a castle for smaller kids with ladder, bridge, small slide & pole to slide down, two level sand-pit & the whole area is shaded with plenty of benches & seats nearby.  

The all-abilities equipment includes a large, accessible bouncy, flush-to-the-ground merry-go-round able to accommodate three wheelchairs!!  There are wide accessible concrete paths joining different areas of the playground as well as disabled amenities.

There are five swings at this playground including two baby/toddler, two regular & a spider web swing,  shaded by shade sails.

There is a small flying fox near the  jungle-gym style climbing cube with a climbing wall & rope nets.  There’s another, larger flying fox at the bottom of the playground, featuring two zip lines.  A half basketball court near the playground is partially fenced & set amongst the trees.  

There are plenty of picnic tables & benches dotted around along with 3 x water fountains, bins throughout the park, 3 x unisex toilets including disabled access, two baby change tables (one at the public amenities and one at the amenities located inside the cafe) & plenty of shade provided by large shade sails and the existing trees.  There are 2 large carparks. 1 close to the playground, the other within walking distance.

AJ’s Cafe, located on-site, open from 8.30-3.30pm seven days a week. There are plenty of tables inside the cafe, & on the outdoor verandah.  The cafe overlooks the playground, there are picnic tables as well as cafe-style tables & chairs along with three gas barbecues & large lawn areas.  

Dogs are even welcome with a large, fenced dog off-leash area right next to the playground.

Peachy park, located in North Rothbury, is a newly built local playground for the residents of Huntlee.

This park contains easy wheelchair access with wide, concrete paths leading straight from the street to the park and all around it. The playground has a climbing web, swing set, see-saw and a spinning top for the kids to enjoy with a soft-fall rubber and woodchip flooring. There is plenty of seating around the area, including a sheltered seating spot and lots of open grass. 

There are no toilets on-site but does have bins around the location and a water dispenser on-site. All parking is curb-side along Peachy Avenue and Moran Parkway.

Ayrfield Miners Memorial Park in North Rothbury is a community park that commemorates the local mining heritage while providing open green space and a playground for families.
