Tallebudgera Beach is an  idyllic spot is framed by Burleigh Head National Park and Echo Beach on the north side, and the popular creekside swimming spot, marked by Neptune Royal Life Saving Club, on the south side.

Tallebudgera Surf Life Saving Club patrols the beach between 8am and 5pm every day all year round. The safest swimming is in the patrolled area clear of the inner bar rips that can occur.  At the very northern end of the beach,  you’ll find a dog-friendly area where pooches can play off leash all the way to Tallebudgera Creek.

Tallebudgera Beach offers accessible mobility beach matting & the Waterwheels wheelchairs are available at Tallebudgera Creek every Saturday during the Surf Lifesavers patrol season (September to May). The Neptune Royal Life Saving Club patrols Tallebudgera Creek between 8am and 5pm every day from November to April and in Queensland school holidays.  The Creek's calm water makes it a very popular choice for families with small children.  The  Creek is a hugely popular picnic and barbeque area and its parkland contains public and disabled toilets, tables, shade structures and beach showers. There is also a large car park at the south side of the creek behind Neptune's.  

There are a few cafés around that you can get a tasty treat from, and plenty of space for a nice picnic outdoors.  There is Club Talle which is very popular with visitors and locals alike who come to enjoy a meal at the oceanfront restaurant.  There is Custard Canteen bakehouse & cafe as a creekside option along with the hole-in-the-wall Neptune Kiosk.

There is accessible change room with a fixed bench seat, grab rails, coat hooks, wide entry doors and additional circulation space. Also accessible beach shower.

North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club

Mermaid Beach is a coastal suburb on the Gold Coast in Queensland, with a relaxed stretch of golden coastline. The beach is  a two-kilometre expanse of sand, bounded by Miami and Nobby's Beach to the south and busy Broadbeach to the north, which offers three pristine swimming areas patrolled by Mermaid Beach Life Saving Club.

Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Club offers beach matting Sunday: 8:30am – 12pm throughout the lifesaving season. The Sandcruiser (adult and child sizes) & Mobi-Chair are available 9:30am to 3:30pm, Sundays, September to May. Bookings are not taken for this, you just turn up on the Sunday morning & volunteers located near the tower are able to help get people down to the waters edge. Mermaid Surf Life Saving Club is often heralded by locals as one of the Gold Coast’s best clubs, popular for its vast menu & extensive balcony overlooking Hedges Avenue and the Pacific Ocean.  The Surf Club also offers accessible toilets.  Under the Surf Club is the step-free  smoothie & coffee bar Rafiki By The Sea & further down Venura Raod is Bam Bam Bakehouse.

Across from the Surf Club is Ken Mansbridge Park which offers a range of facilities including outdoor showers, exercise equipment beach volleyball courts and nets, barbeques and shaded picnic tables.  There are public and disabled toilets, plus beach access points and platforms for wheelchairs, accessible beach matting and two Sandcruiser beach wheelchairs (adult and child size).

Parking can be found at the Surf Club & also along the promenade.

Mermaid Beach

Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club offers accessible beach matting which reaches the hard sand and is suitable for all manual & electric wheelchairs, prams and walking frames. 

The Hippocampe & Waterwheels beach wheelchairs are available for use free of charge. Available 9am to 4pm, Saturdays, September to May. Contact: email admin@burleighslsc.com.au or phone 07 5535 2419.

 There is a Changing Places toilet which has a shower and wide entry door for beach wheelchairs. The toilet is located next to the Nook Espresso on Goodwin Terrace. Eligible visitors can borrow a key from the Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club, which is approximately 300 metres north of the toilet. 

There is a kiosk at the club, plenty of picnic tables, wide pathways, a kids playground & accessible car parking.
