    7th Brigade Park Playground 1

    Accessible features:

    • A fenced and shaded Liberty Swing — a wheelchair-accessible swing on a firm rubber softfall surface inside its own enclosure

    • Wide, wheelchair-friendly paths lead to the Liberty Swing and on to the picnic areas

    • Accessible toilet on site (Murphy Rd toilet block)

    • The older-style playground near Delaware St/Newman Rd (climbing dome, rock wall, monkey bars) sits on a bark base with no paved path leading in, making it harder to access with a wheelchair or frame

    • Brisbane City Council's current upgrade project for the park includes a proposed accessible connecting pathway (as of late 2025)

Getting there if you have access needs or are a wheelchair user:

    • By car: On-site car park at the Kidspace/Murphy Rd end of the park. It does not have dedicated accessible parking bays, but it's a good spot for a drop-off, with a short, level approach leading straight to the playground. Additional street parking is available along Hamilton Rd, Newman Rd and Delaware St — also with no dedicated accessible bays confirmed.

    • By public bus: Public buses run along Newman Road, right next to the park (a short walk of a couple of minutes to the playground area). All TransLink buses in Brisbane are wheelchair-accessible (low-floor, ramp-equipped).
