Accessible & Disability Friendly Places
South Bank is Brisbane’s riverside playground, best enjoyed on a stroll through the parklands beside the Brisbane River, past art galleries, cafes and restaurants. At its heart is Streets Beach, a city beach where you can swim with skyline views. Beach and pool wheelchairs can be borrowed from the visitor information centre in Stanley Street Plaza, with photo ID and a refundable deposit.
Practical support makes the day easy. Accessible parking bays sit beside the lifts on level B1 of the underground car park on Little Stanley Street. Accessible toilets are at the Piazza and Stanley Street Plaza, and a bathroom with a ceiling hoist at Riverside Terrace opens with an MLAK key or help from the visitor centre. Bring your own sling. Standard wheelchairs can also be hired by the half day or full day.
